Chapter Twenty Two

CHAPTER TWENTY TWO

Winter

The Silver Hunters charge towards us, their weapons glinting in the dim light of the hallway. Heather and I stand our ground, ready to fight for our lives.

I take a deep breath and brace myself for impact as the first Hunter lunges towards me. I sidestep his attack and kick him in the back. Thanks to my super strength, he flies across the hallway and slams into the wall.

Heather is holding her own, taking down Hunters left and right with her talisman. I'm glad I have her on my side, even if seeing the talisman that she once used on me brings back some bad memories.

More Hunters come at us, and I'm starting to feel the strain of the fight. My side aches with every movement, and I'm finding it hard to catch my breath. Raising my hands, I summon some wind.

It knocks a few of them over, but it's like the other ones are expecting it. They crouch down, using their shields for protection.
