''Son, the shaman told me that today you will encounter the woman with two souls. She is going to be the pawn of your existence. The shaman said you must avoid her at all cost or you are going to end up losing everything because of her. Hurry, tell me. How many women did you meet today?'' Mrs. Oak continued to insist, following Kai into his bedroom.
''Mum, I didn't meet any woman outside of work today. I met with a victim at the hospital. That's all.'' Kai said as he placed his bag on the bed.
''Really? Are you sure? Kai, think about it carefully. Perhaps you might have forgotten.'' Mrs. Oak said.
The thought of the woman he bumped into came to mind and Avery's face overlapped with hers. Kai shook his head saying. 'That's about all. I didn't meet any woman apart from the victim.''
''Really?''
''Yes, so mum. Please stop this and get out of my room. I need to change.''
''Oo, I will go and reheat the soup. I prepared your favorite seafood soup. Hurry up and come and eat.'' Mrs. Oak kissed Kai's cheek before leaving.
Kai sighed and shook his head. He started undoing his buttons as he walked into his bathroom.
…..
Coded location.
Fiona pulled over in her motorbike and got down. She removed the helmet and held it by her hip said as she walked towards the gym. She removed the key from her pocket and opened the door.
Fiona walked towards a giant metallic door. She scanned her eye at the scanner and the door opened. She stepped in and stood inside the elevator and it took her up.
The elevator doors opened and she stepped out, entering into a well-furnished modern IT room. In there were different flat screens hanging on the walls. These screens were transmitting live recordings of the entire city.
Fiona opened the fridge and removed an apple. She washed it and went to sit down to eat.
''How… did your day go?'' A feminine voice asked from the side and Fiona turned.
''What do you think?'' Fiona turned her chair to face the middle aged woman who had moved to sit across her.
''You must be having a tough time dealing with Avery, right?'' The woman asked, revealing a bitter smile.
''It's okay. I think that I might have to play with her a little longer in order to bring her senses back. But aunt, why is she so obsessed with money?'' Fiona stood up and picked incense to light.
The woman sighed deeply. ''This is my fault. I failed Avery as her mother. She had a tough life growing up. Don't hate her too much.''
''I don't hate her. If anything, she is very clear on her goals. Such people when they change, they do it with all their heart.'' Fiona looked at the screen that was recording the entire city live and sighed. 'I just hope we can get to the bottom of this one day.''
''Fiona, since I promised to find the book for you, I will definitely do it.''
''I'm tired, I'm going to bed. Tomorrow, I will meet with Avery and the Prosecutor.'' Fiona bowed and went to a bed that was at the corner of the room.
The woman smiled and turned to watch the screens keenly.
….
Kai's villa.
Kai sighed and placed his hands over his waist as he watched his mother placing the written charms at all corners of the hall.
''Son, don't throw these away. They will protect you from the woman with two souls. You need to be careful with the women you meet outside. A lot of them are evil spirits.'' Mrs. Oak kept stressing on as she pasted the charms.
Kai shook his head and went to sit down. He turned on his TV to watch. Kai massaged his forehead as the words of the suspect came to mind.
''Prosecutor Oak, aren't you curious about the death of your ex-girlfriend? She died trying to stop the Construction of the Gallery. Aye, there are a lot to talk about but I will leave that to you when you are able to catch me. Until then… bye!''
Kai yawned and turned when he heard his mother's voice. ''What did you say?''
''I said it's getting late. I will be leaving. Remember to not throw away the lucky charm I kept in your bag. It will protect you from danger.'' Mrs. Oak said before taking her bag to leave.
''Be safe, mum'' Kai replied and sat on the couch.
After Mrs. Oak left, Kai fell asleep on the couch.
….
Avery's apartment.
Avery closed the fridge after taking out two eggs. She turned to the kitchen table and broke the eggs into a bowl and whisked it to fry.
''Avery, don't you want answers to the reason why the orphanage caught fire and all of you were sent away? I believe the orphanage land is where the Minister has built his gallery, right?''
''Darn it!'' Avery cussed and hit the bowl with the whisk and the bowl fell along with the eggs. ''Assh! What the hell is all this?''
Avery looked at the eggs that had spilt and sighed. She squatted in front of it and muttered. ''You want to ruin my life, right? How dare she even use my favorite number? 30 hours? Okay… no problem. I am going to find you before that 30th hour and put your ass behind jail. That will be for messing with me.''
Avery stood up and picked the mob to clean the mess up.
After cleaning the kitchen, Avery didn't have the energy to cook again so she opened her cardboard and removed a bowl of noodles. She heated some water and added an egg to it and sent it to the hall to eat.
''How do I get this woman to redraw her charges? It seems that Prosecutor really gave her a lot of promises. This won't do. I need to go and see her at all cost. If she doesn't redraw the case, I will end up losing my promotion. That will mean losing out on a lot of money. I can't afford to lose out on easy money.''
Avery picked the bowl of noodles and started eating.
