"Get them! "

Loki looked on coldly at the battling Avengers below. There was no sadness or joy on his face.

Loki watched the Avengers below fight with a cold, emotionless gaze. The power displayed by the Avengers was somewhat beyond his expectations, particularly the one wielding strange flying weapons who could easily decimate large groups of Chitauri with ease, and seemed to have yet to exert himself fully, appearing carefree.

"Send me more troops, eliminate that guy! "

As he commanded a large force of Chitauri soldiers to surround the [Drunken Sword Immortal], Loki's mind involuntarily remembered the conversation he had with Jiu You before. His gaze swept over the constantly incoming alien army behind him, and his eyes began to flash under his helmet.

Dragging his hand to control the flying sword, the [Drunken Sword Immortal] took a sip from his gourd and a faint smile appeared on his drunken and dazed face. Despite being a clone, he couldn't see the data panel displayed by the system, but he could still sense the changes in emotion of the real body.

Clearly, the [Flying Sword Technique] hasn't only rescued many trapped civilians, but has also greatly added to the real body's reputation points.

"Good, good. Killing three birds with one arrow."

With a flick of his finger, the [Drunken Sword Immortal] controlled the flying sword, to go and rescue people somewhere else. But when he turned around, he was suddenly confronted by a large group of Chitauri soldiers who had appeared behind him and encircled him completely.

"You're just in time," the [Drunken Sword Immortal] said, looking up at the Chitauri army floating in mid-air. He swung the wine gourd in his hand with a pleased expression on his face. "I was worried about where to find more materials since the wine in this gourd is almost empty ..."

As he spoke, the [Drunken Sword Immortal] lifted the gourd in his hand and squeezed out a spell. In the next moment, the powerful suction from the wine gourd immediately drew in all of the Chitauri soldiers in front of him. "More wine to drink, " he said with a chuckle, as he covered the cap and shook the gourd in his hand.

Of course, the gourd in the [Drunken Sword Immortal]'s hand didn't actually have the ability to turn Chitauri soldiers into wine. At best, it could only hold them captive under the influence of magic. However, this didn't stop the Drunken Sword Immortal from putting on a good show. He just needed to find a chance to let out what's in the gourd and use his sword with a few quick moves.

And who knew what had happened to these Chitauri soldiers as long as he didn't reveal it -- whether they had truly turned into wine in the gourd or not.

With the bodies of Chitauri soldiers everywhere, who could recognize them one by one?

As Loki watched the move, he struggled to maintain his stoic expression. He nervously controlled his flying vehicle and backed away several meters, trying to avoid being discovered by the [Drunken Sword Immortal] below. Just kidding. Despite being a god, he might not be able to distinguish the things in the other party's hand. What if he accidentally pulls him in with the Chitauri soldiers nearby?

"Sir, the residual energy of Mark 8 is insufficient to penetrate the opponent's exoskeleton metal armor."

In mid-air, Tony struggled to maneuver the armor, drawing the attention of the other metal behemoth. Jarvis's urgent warnings started to sound in his ear.

The power source of the iron armor was ultimately finite, even though the new Mark 8 uses the arc reactor developed from the creativity left by Tony's father Howard, it only represented an extended battery life. However, after numerous intense battles, the armor has finally reached its energy limit.

"So, am I supposed to just stop now? "

Tony quipped, but beneath his helmet, his expression was serious. The constant invasion of the alien army from the portal had placed great strain on the Avengers, and if they didn't find a way to close the Tesseract-formed portal, the destruction that Loki spoke of may become a reality.

For such an outcome, whether it was as member of The Avengers, or as Tony himself, he didn't want to see it.

"Hulk, I got you a new toy."

Tony's thoughts were racing, but his actions didn't falter. He used Mark 8 to lure the metal giant to Hulk's location. While observing the alien warship being destroyed by the Hulk, Tony used the communication device to speak to Steve, "Captain, what's the status? If there's no improvement, we might have to think about the worst-case scenario."

"Selvig is awake." Thankfully, the situation isn't as dire as Tony feared. Panting from the battle, Steve replied through the earpiece, "Natasha learned how to shut down the cube from him. Dr. Selvig left a back-up plan in the equipment. We can use Loki's scepter to sever the cube's power and close the portal."

"The scepter in Loki's hand?"

It was rare to hear good news. Tony's expression under his helmet couldn't help but lighten up a bit. With Jarvis's search, he quickly locked in on Loki's location and, of course, the scepter in his hand.

"Hulk, over here!"

However, before he could act, the huge figure of Hulk, who had smashed the metallic worm, moved first. His robust legs digging two deep crevices in the ground, leaping forward in a single bound, heading towards Loki in the distance.

"All right."

The situation on the battlefield was far from easy, but since the Hulk was willing to take action, Tony felt a bit more at ease.

"Tony."

However, it seemed that the already chaotic situation wasn't enough. SHIELD ran into another problem, and Fury contacted Tony with a rather grim outcome.

Because the portal still wasn't closed yet, in order to prevent the alien forces from continuing to invade New York City, the Council's high-ranking officials had no choice but to make the difficult decision to fire a nuclear warhead, destroying the portal and the entire city in one fell swoop. Fury rejected the board of directors' decision right away, but the higher-ups managed to bypass him and launch a nuclear warhead with their authority anyway.

"FUCK! Don't the council members have any sense? If a nuclear warhead exploded in New York, the destruction and casualties would be even greater than that of an alien invasion."

With a loud curse, the news sent by Nick Fury was a stark reminder of the destruction that could be caused by the Chitauri invasion. While the Avengers were able to contain the aliens to within the vicinity of the Stark Building, a falling nuclear warhead would bring destruction of an unimaginable scale. The city of New York would be decimated, leaving few survivors of the devastation.
