"Pay?"
When he heard Charlie's words, Thor's face instantly revealed an absurd expression as he looked at Mjolnir, that was close at hand and raised his eyebrows. He helplessly said, "This belonged to me."
"Hey, buddy."
Hearing Thor's words, drunken old Charlie was agitated, and he reached out and pushed Thor's body violently. However, the other person's strong body didn't move the slightest. Instead, Charlie, who was drunk, involuntarily stumbled back several steps, and his back hit the edge of the table before he fell.
Shaking his head, Charlie looked at Thor and shouted, "Don't think you can do whatever you want just because you're big and tall?! The hammer on the table is something I paid for, and everyone in the bar can prove it for me. If you don't want to buy it, get the hell out!"
As Charlie's words fell, the crowd in the bar also stopped their drinking and looked at Thor and others.
"Thor."
Feeling the pressure from the crowd, Jane couldn't help but look a little worried.
On the other hand, Bucciarati swept across the bar with a straight face and then stopped his gaze on Charlie, who confronted Thor.
"How about it? Have you made a decision yet?"
With everyone's support, Charlie seemed to feel emboldened. Looking at Thor, who was tall and burly in front of him, he said, "Are you going to pay up?"
"..."
Thor's eyes swept over the crowd in the bar. Truthfully, the situation at hand didn't pose much of a threat to Thor. However, looking across at the drunken Charlie, Thor was silent for a moment. Instead of exploding out as expected, he patiently said, "I will pay, but before that, can you let me see the hammer first?"
Obviously, the things he had encountered during this past few days changed him.
He was no longer as reckless and arrogant as he was in Asgard.
"No deal!"
Faced with Thor's request, Charlie shook his head and refused without thinking about it. At the same time, he gave a plausible reason, "What if you run away with my stuff? "
"Haha. Charlie looks like you grew a brain."
"Shut up!"
Hearing the teasing words coming from the crowd in the bar, Charlie cursed out in annoyance.
"Are you really afraid he'll take the hammer and run? Or are you worried that he won't 'take it' and you won't get paid?"
"Damn it! You bastards!"
Seeing the crowd unceremoniously demolish his plans, Charlie could not help but raise his voice.
"Can't you see I'm almost there?!"
With that, Charlie turned his face back to Thor. His dark face revealed an awkward smile, and he made a pale excuse, "Don't listen to these drunks. They only know how to drink and talk without thinking..."
Thor listened to Charlie's explanation while looking down at the bottle of liquor he still held in his hand with a dismissive expression.
"I'll pay, but first, you have to let me touch Mjolnir."
Looking at Mjolnir on the table, Thor firmly replied.
"Look at what you've done!"
Hearing Thor's words, Charlie knew his plan was hopeless. He angrily scolded everyone in the bar, only to attract louder laughter.
After drinking the last sip of alcohol left in the bottle, Charlie chose the next best thing and said, "Well, I can let you touch the hammer, but before that, you have to buy me a drink."
The hope of making money from Mjolnir was dashed, so he simply asked for some more alcohol.
"That won't be a problem."
To that, Thor agreed without hesitation, and at the same time, he turned his gaze to Jane behind him.
In the beginning, he never expected that he would be banished to Earth by his father, Odin. So naturally, there couldn't be such a thing as money in his pockets.
In response to Thor's look, Jane didn't hesitate to speak to Darcy at her side.
"Why am I the one who has to pay? " While grumbling, Darcy handed the purchased liquor to Thor, "Aren't you the God of Thunder? Don't gods have gold, jewellery, money, and stuff like that?"
"Normally, I just have to fight in battle with Mjolnir, and besides, there is no need for me to use money in Asgard." After receiving the bottle of liquor from Darcy, Thor defended himself and then gave it to Charlie, "Now, is that enough? "
"Of course." Picking up the bottle Thor gave him, Charlie couldn't wait to take a sip of it, and at the same time, gave way for Thor, "You can see it for yourself."
Looking at Mjolnir, which was quietly placed on the bar table, Thor's breathing became rapid. He took a deep breath to calm his excitement and then walked towards the table, reaching for the handle of the hammer.
Rumble --
Just then, with a loud thunderclap, the rain finally fell from the gloomy sky.
"I told you we should have gone to the coffee shop, but you insisted on the roof."
"How would I know it was gonna rain that fast? Besides, the coffee shop isn't a good place to monitor the bar."
Not far from the bar, two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents hiding on the roof while holding various monitoring devices complained to each other.
"Base to Unit Two, what's the situation?"
"Base, we have found the missing item, it's at the bar in the middle of town."
"Keep monitoring, we'll send someone over."
Through the walkie-talkie, orders were given to the agents who were in charge of monitoring Thor. Agent Coulson was planning to send someone to the location to get back the items stolen by the Phantom Thief had stolen when he suddenly heard that the agents who had been observing nearby reported an abnormal situation.
"What the hell was that?"
"I don't know, sir. We got massive energy readings out of nowhere, and then they just disappeared. 15 miles due northwest."
"Can you find out what it is?"
"It's in the middle of nowhere, Sir. And it was so sudden we couldn't lock on to anything."
Looking down at the data and the cone-shaped atmospheric change in the computer, Agent Coulson hesitated for a moment before saying, "Split into two groups. Barton, you take a team to retrieve the item. I'll go take a look at what's happening out there."
As Agent Coulson's command was given, agents throughout the base immediately sprang into action.
Hawkeye took his weapon and led a bunch of agents to Thor's location.
