Magic High: School For Virtuous And Evil

Rachael Rodriguez had never stepped out of her home town before her sixteenth year. Then she arrived at Magic High , and quickly tried to flee. The school was made of elites, self-assured, strong, and at first glance... highly unapproachable students, teachers, and workers. Yet as Rachel was ignored, and drawn into their library where she found her solace, she learned a terryfying secret...a secret about an incident in the school in the dead of the night where an ancient rite was brought to brutal life...and led to a gruesome death. And that ... was just the beginning.

MY First MAGIC CLASS ( Part I)

***********

lA/N: Dear readers, hope you have been enjoying the novel so far?

I was thinking , maybe I should upload two chapters everyday, or upload ten chapters at the end of each week.

I'll keep writing, in the meantime, I want to know your opinions. I judge with a majority. Don't forget to send comments, reviews and power stones.

**********

I sat on a desk and tried to use my knowledge to frame the origin of art when Alicia and Angelina came back with a frown.

" I never had the slightest idea that this school's library is nothing, but a shelf piled with useless books." Angelina murmured.

" Rachael…can you please tell us what you know about art?" Alicia asked, looking tired.

" Art originated from the Latin word 'ARTI' meaning "to do well".

Art activities can be traced back to the early man, who wrote and drew on cave walls, rock surfaces. Wood and hives. Although most of these materials are aged, weathered and perished." I answered.

" That's a lot. Thanks! meet us during dinner." Alicia beamed.

They both left and I started searching for clues that may lead me to know about the incident, the head mistress talked about. There was this attraction I had to that matter.

My search led me into a very secluded part of the library, so many books, they all smelt old . I sighted a very strange book and was about to lay my hands on it when I heard the headmisstres's voice.

" What are you doing here?"

' I knew it . She is such a.... wait a minute….. she is sitting on a chair and the desk is full of books…..is this…..her…office!'

" Rachael….you seem lost in thoughts."

She said smiling.

" Certainly not madame. I was looking for the answer to an assignment Ms. Jane gave us. Little did I know I'd stumble into your office. I beg your pardon if I've offended you in any way."

" No, you haven't. Ms. Jane made a mistake of joining you with the others during the lesson. Making you search for the answer to a very hard assignment.

I'll talk to her, plus, you are always welcome here."

"You did not have to say that madame. The class was pretty interesting."

" Alright…. I couldn't have it any other way. Perhaps you stay here more often. Your company is appreciated."

«Σίγουρα». ( Certainly) I said in Greek and she smiled.

I left without a moment to spare.

' She had given me permission to enter her office anytime I liked. Perfect!! But there was something ominous. Why would she allow only me to enter her office? And why in the world, am I separated from others?!

I have the feeling that something isn't right somewhere. Even the attitude from the teachers is something baffling. It seems like I was someone special, with how they treated me.

The others had the choice to choose the Normal subjects they were interested in, but my own was the other way round. '

During dinner my roommates were anxious to ask me questions about why I never ate strawberry cookies.

"Why do you never eat strawberry cookies," Alicia asked. Each table always had a plate of strawberry cookies on it. It was a great dessert, I would admit.

"Since ,I have known about the history of the mock turtle…I never ate strawberries." I answered.

"Why?" Angelina asked.

"Cos, it pains me to read a gryphon and a mock turtle sobbing while talking about their history. I ate strawberry cookies when I read it."

" That's a myth," Angelina said.

"I believe it," I said, staring at her.

" Can you speak Greek?" Alicia asked.

"Spanish, French and the likes," Angelina asked to confirm.

"Yes, I can." I answered.

"Mañana. Means morning in Spanish." I said so they can be reassured I could speak other languages.

" I will ask a question and you answer in Irish… Angelina told me she could speak Irish. So you confirm if she is correct." Alicia said happy she could disgrace Angelina.

" What? I didn't say that!!" Alicia said angrily.

"Yes, you did," Angelina answered.

"Can you not go through the hassle in the room when you are in public? " I said, while sipping my lemon drink.

"If she were a president, she'd be Baberham Lincoln, hahahahahaha," Alicia said laughing at her own joke and she left Angelina sizzling in anger.

" Calm down, can't you deal with a joke? I'll talk to her tonight. Come on," I said, leading her to the room.

When we got into the room, Alicia was sitting on her bed. The room was painted pink, and all the stuff in it was pink. You could imagine the …brightness. Agh…I am allergic to colors, but I have to deal with it.

Angelina sat on her bed and calmed herself . She was looking at me , like she was expecting me to do something. I looked towards Alicia, and spoke.

" Alicia…a careless word may kindle strife. A cruel word may wreck

a life. A timely word may level stress, but a loving word….come to think of it."

"How would I know she'd take it to heart?" Alicia asked, a bit sober.

"Always put yourself in other's shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the person too." I answered.

"I am sorry Angelina," Alicia apologized.

"It's okay…apologies accepted," Angelina said with a smile.

And we went to bed.

The next morning after taking a bath and dressing up, Alicia and Angelina were getting ready for the day when they saw me, already dressed up,and they greeted me both in Irish.

" Maidin mhaith, a Rachael. Conas a bhí d'oíche?" ( Good morning, Rachael. How was your night?")

"Bien (fine)," I answered.

We walked to the dining hall and after breakfast we all dispersed into our respective classes. I went to the garden.

When I got there I saw Ms. Jessie cladded in white from neck to toe and another woman in blue.

" Good morning, Rachael. How was your night? Hope you slept well? Allow me to introduce Ms. Hazel, she would teach you aqua magic," Ms. Jessie said.

" Why aqua magic first?" I asked curiously.

"Cos, water is calm and cool, then you'll learn terra magic, cos earth is hard and stable. You will learn pyro magic last because fire is unstable and uncontrollable.

Ms. Hazel speaks Spanish, I hope that is not a problem," Ms. Jessie said and left. She didn't even wait for me to reply, before vanishing to God Knows Where.

"Ven, mira a tu alrededor, Rachael, el agua es vida". (Come, look around you, Rachael. Water is life.)

" Sí, lo sé ," I answered. (Yes, I know)

"Para poder hacer que la naturaleza siga tu voluntad, debes tener un corazón fuerte. Ser capaz de defenderte de los obstáculos, porque existe el lado avanzado de la magia acuática.

¡Magia de sangre! Un usuario de magia de sangre toma el control de la sangre en tu cuerpo. Moviéndote a su voluntad".

(To be able to make nature follow your will, you must be strong hearted. Be able to fend off obstacles, cos there is the advanced side of aqua magic.

Blood magic !!. A blood magic user takes control of the blood in your body. Moving you to his or her will.)

" Ya basta de sus charlas, eso lo leí hace algún tiempo. ¿Puedes ir a la parte más exigente?"

(Enough of your talks, I read that sometime ago. Can you go to the more exigent part?)

I asked, almost losing my temper.

" Ciertamente," (certainly) she said smiling.
