Chapter 65 - A crafty cat

The fight went on, with Zoro slowly adapting to Onigumo's style. Swords clashed countless times, striking so fast one wouldn't be able to see them with an untrained eye. And yet, slowly but surely, cracks started to form. Zoro's swords bent slightly, the edge turned dull.

Zoro, of course, noticed the problem. Unfortunately for him, so did Onigumo. Onigumo saw his promised victory, and so he lashed out at Zoro using all of his available swords. Leaving Zoro no time to address his problem.

While Zoro's Armament Haki was good, it couldn't protect a normal Katana from such a fierce battle. And after Onigumo performed a powerful over-head attack with 4 of his swords simultaneously, Zoro's left and right katanas broke as he used them to attempt to block the dangerous attack. The four blades continued to fall upon Zoro.

Thinking quickly, Zoro used Wado Ichimonji to block the two right blades. The two left ones, though, continued their way towards the defenseless Zoro.

*Splat*

Blood spilled across the wooden boards of the ship, as one deep slash could be seen on Zoro's left side and another slightly less severe wound on Zoro's arm. Onigumo smiled wildly while continuing his attack without a single second of hesitation, leaving Zoro no choice but to continue his fight with a single sword.

Nami was cursing Luffy endlessly. She was a thief, she wasn't meant to fight like this! She learned Haki in her two years of training, but she was only about average in her ability. Now, with only a metal staff to her name, she needed to face off against an army alone. Well, technically, she had a Skypiean army to back her up, but she didn't feel better knowing that fact. Seeing as she was the main target of every Marine onboard the warship.

A Rear Admiral charged at her with his sword raised up in preparation to attack. 'Maybe it won't be so bad... His speed is like a snail's compared to Katakuri.' Nami hoped as she quickly dashed forward before shot her Haki-clad staff into the Marines' nose, breaking it with a loud cracking sound. Nami then caught his head with her hand and slammed it into the ground to finish the Marine off.

"She got Greg!" A Marine shouted from the back as the rest charged at her. Nami quickly brought her staff close as she prepared to defend against the incoming attacks, or at least that's what she looked like.

The angered soldiers neared Nami at a frightening pace, and as they were about to reach her, a blinding light suddenly erupted from Greg's body. Hidden within Greg's Marine uniform, a Dial could be seen. "Who knew pickpocketing skills could be this useful in a fight," Nami said as she pulled out a second Dial. "I hope this works..." Nami mumbled with slight worry as she activated the device.

Powerful lightning erupted, hitting the closest Marine before jumping from soldier to soldier across the ship. Killing those who couldn't react and defend in time. Of course, the Marine present on the ship were elites, but not many could react at lightning speed. {Pun very much intended}

"Whew, that went well." Nami sighed in relief after seeing her trap working, but she quickly got back into her battle mode as she signaled a sign with her hand. The countless Skypieans flying in the air suddenly dived in to join the battle. However, the battle was not over yet.

"Cat indeed, you're quite the crafty one, I must admit." a man with a black mohawk and a mustache spoke as he grabbed a flying Skypiean by the head and crushed him to death with a single hand. He wore the standard marine uniform, consisting of a purple and white pinstripe suit with a coat draped over his shoulders. Underneath his coat lies a dark blue shirt and a light blue tie. He is of average height and very well-built. He carries around his weapon of choice, a katana, attached to his right hip.

"V-Vice Admiral Momonga," Nami identified the man with her voice slightly shaking. "Oh, so my name is known by the famous Straw Hat Pirates. I'm honored." Momonga replied while drawing his sword. "W-we can talk a little before we start fighting, right?" Nami questioned as she slowly retreated. "Unfortunately, it does not seem so," Momonga replied while lifting his sword.

Nami, unable to retreat, got into a combat stance. However, before she was even to comprehend her situation, a silver flash neared her. Nami desperately jumped left to avoid the attack, however, the silver flash still cut some strands of her hair. "Weaker than I thought, this shouldn't take long." Momonga commented.

Momonga's sword flew forward again, with Nami's liver as its target. Nami attempted to block the attack as she quickly positioned her staff in a diagonal blocking position. The force of the attack was too much, however, and Nami began to be pushed back. Nami didn't give up, and she quickly shifted her arms to put the staff in an angle, making use of Momonga's own momentum to make his sword slide off the rod. Exploiting the opening that resulted from her move, Nami grabbed the high end of her staff and again used Momonga's momentum to swing the staff around like a hammer as she hit Momonga's torso. Sending him flying.

"I stand corrected, you appear to have some skill." Momonga spat blood as he got up to his feet. Suddenly, however, Momonga got a bad feeling. As if to reassure him, Nami smirked and declared. "In case you haven't noticed, you've fallen right into my trap" As the Skypieans that weren't fighting surrounded Momonga with Dials at the ready. "Fire!" Nami declared as countless Dials were activated.

So about my sudden break. My school started again after, I want to say half a year of lockdown, and they didn't trust us to do online tests during the time. I'm in my final year. You get where I'm going with this. I also had a test with the military, and I'm also working on a big project. Anyway, the pressure is down at the moment so I'll try to no disappear again. I figured you'll like an explanation at the end instead of a chapter that'll just bait you.
