Chapter 63

Supper was already served when we arrived home so we just went upstairs to freshen up before moving down to consume the food. We finished our meal in peace and waited for the guys to come around. Everything went on cool from then. Reuben also tried his best to mingle with us during the time not because he wanted to but because it was an order from Ryan, which he couldn't disobey.

The weekend was a blissful one full of enjoyment and reconciliation. And since we didn't want to ruin the mood, we decided not to talk about Ryan's surgery for the time being.

It was already Monday, the beginning of test week and I felt like I was really prepared. I didn't want to to be late for the test because that would be my weakness. About that, whenever I'm late for a test, I feel pressured which makes me do poorly at the end.

I woke Jennie up on time so we could get to school on time. After going through our normal morning routine, we headed out of the house towards the almighty Winchester High.

"Good morning sir", I greeted the security man before driving in. Ryan's, Ryder's, Keenan's and Reuben's cars were parked at the lot when we arrived. The way they had parked their cars was nicely symbolizing harmony. I drove and parked beside Ryan's since that was the only space left for me.

We got some important stuffs from out lockers before walking in to meet the new members of our circle. We went to sit quietly because the class was almost full and we had to settle before the siren goes on for the test to start. I just waved at Ryan and he waved back with a bright smile that couldn't stop me from staring at him. Keenan tapped my shoulder breaking my gaze at Ryan.

"It's almost time. Look into your book", Keenan scolded like a big brother.

"But I am looking in it",I answered like a small stubborn sister.

"You know if you don't do well, Mr Gupta would blame me right?"

"That would be fun, don't you think?", I questioned back with a wink.

He just ignored me and continued with what he was doing earlier. There was something very familiar about his looks but I just couldn't fathom what it was. He looked very familiar and the way he smelled was very known to me.

'Maybe it's because I've been close to him that's why', I convinced myself with that thought and finally concentrated on my books.

Very soon, the siren churned for us to get settled that it was time for the test to begin. We put our bags and books away before resuming our seats. Mr Gupta came in to wish us luck and asked us to do our best in the test because it is to prepare us for the end of year exams. We agreed with him before the lecturers came in with the question papers. We stayed some rules which were not to be broken before handing the papers over to us.

"You may now start work",one of them said and I heard papers flipping. Everyone was busy flipping the pages of the exam booklet while I just sat still staring at the paper in front of me. There was a kick on my desk making me turn to find Keenan giving me a questioning look.

"Don't worry about me. I'm very fine", I whispered to him making him sigh. I wasn't stricken by test tension rather, it was normal for me to sit still for a while before grabbing my pen to write.

After ten minutes of staring at whatever I wanted to stare at, I took my pen and started answering the questions one after the other. The room was as quiet as the grave because everyone was busy racking their brains to find their own answers. The only sound one could hear was the sound of flipping papers. I took short glances at Jennie, Ryan, Ryder and Reuben to see how they were doing and realized they were all fine with the questions.

After what seemed like eternity, we were alarmed to start wrapping up so they could take the papers away. Ms Lucile collected the papers from us and told us that was all for the day. While others heaved sigh of relief others heaved sigh of distress. Jennie rushed to my side after her paper was taken.

"How was it?", she asked after reaching me.

"Normal", I simply answered.

"Just normal? You haven't had any test in this school before and yet you see it as normal?", she questioned surprised.

"Come on Jennie, I'm used to writing tests so I just consider it one of the tests in my previous school", I told her and she just nodded.

"So were you able to answer all questions?", I was now my turn to ask her.

"Of course. This test seems easier than the previous ones", she said.

"Hi", Ryan's voice came through making us turn to his direction.

"Hey", I answered. With that, we realized almost everyone in the class was staring at us. They were surprised of the fact that Ryan said hi to us without picking fights whilst Keenan was also present.

"From the look on your faces I could tell you didn't face any difficulties ", Ryan said ignoring the gaze of the other students.

"You can say that again", Keenan was first to retaliate.

"You are right ", I chipped in.

"So where are we heading to?", Ryder joined the conversation.

"You just finished one paper and you want to enjoy?", Jennie hit him on the head making us laugh at their little drama.

"I agree with Jennie, maybe we should do that after the last paper", Reuben who has been missing for sometime suddenly chipped in surprising us all. "What's with the look? Am I not allowed to speak?", he questioned us due to the shocked expression we had put on.

"They are just surprised you finally came around", Ryan spoke up.

"Get used to it",Reuben said and sat near Keenan .
