Chapter 64

Even though we were not comfortable with how Reuben suddenly decided to join us, there was nothing we could do than to keep him closer to to us.

"So you guys just want us to go home and do nothing?", Jennie asked feeling upset.

"All you think about is having fun, go home and study to improve your grades", Reuben said coldly.

"Why do you have to speak to her in that manner?", Ryder questioned angrily.

"Wasn't I just speaking the truth? Oh I forgot the truth hurts", Reuben shrugged. Ryder got up to hit him but Ryan stopped him from doing so.

"You can't be doing this here. The kids are watching", he said referring to the other students as kids. Ryan was really funny even in such a situation.

"Just warn him not to talk to my girlfriend in such a manner ever again", Ryder told Ryan before getting back to sit. For once, I saw Jennie smile widely again. I then felt how it was to be loved by someone other than your parents. They protect you from your haters even if they had to go against their own friends.

"And what are you going to do if I repeat the truth? Isn't…ouch". He was cut off with a punch from Ryan even before he could finish his stupid words.

"You are going to get more of that if you repeat such nonsense ", Ryan said with a calm face as if there was nothing wrong with him or he had done nothing just then.

"Ryan. You hit me because of him?", Reuben sounded surprised because he was always the one who had power over Ryder but now it seemed he had lost it to him. Ryan could hit him for whatever reason but not because he spoke against Ryder and Jennie.

"Is something wrong with that?", Ryan asked sheepishly. All the while they were having their own problems, Keenan and I just remained silent staring at them because we didn't want to interfere in the business of the R3 squad.

"I'm sorry Reuben, but you forced me to do it. You don't have to cause trouble in this new circle because we have a new bond. Understood?", Ryan said but I didn't know if he was sincerely apologizing or giving a warning.

"Whatever. I have to go home ,I have things I need to finish up", he said and without waiting for any response he walked away.

"I'm sorry", Ryan apologized to Jennie after Reuben had left.

"Oh no, it's okay. I'm used to being bullied by him", Jennie was fast to accept the apology. It seemed Jennie still felt intimidated by Ryan but she was just good at hiding it.

"And why were you both quiet?", he finally asked Keenan and I.

"We had no say when the boss is disciplining his subordinate that's why we had to remain quiet and just view what was going on ", Keenan answered with a shrug.

"You can't be serious", Ryan said making a funny face causing us to laugh.

"Okay okay, it's time to go home. Tomorrow is another day", I said bringing everyone's attention to me. "I'm just saying", I quickly added before they pounced on me to eat up my flesh, especially Jennie who was eager to go out and have fun.

"Let's get going then", Ryan said making us get up from our various seats.

Ryder help Jennie's hand without letting go while walking out. I followed them leaving Keenan and Ryan to follow behind. I gave Ryan a tight hug when we got to the lot getting attention from the students who were on their way home but what I didn't see coming was Keenan's reaction.

"It's not good to have body contact with guys", he said and pulled me away from Ryan. He just smiled at how silly Keenan was behaving before getting into his car. He was first to drive out of the compound followed by Ryder after bidding his lover girl goodbye.

"What was that for ", I asked Keenan after Ryan had drove out.

"What was what for?", he asked knowing very well what I was taking about.

"Don't play dumb with me"

"Oh you mean that? I was just protecting you", he said and with that, he entered his car and sped off. Jennie and I did same.
