Gar woke up just as the sun rose. He took some clean clothes, all Jedi-styled tunics. He realized there wasn't a shower in the room, so he found a Jedi robe. He wrapped it like a regular robe, and found what he thought were personal hygiene products, but who can tell?
He left the room and saw Sol walking toward him, "There's a refresher down the hall, he pointed behind him.
"You're up early," Gar saw his freshly clean friend.
"Yeah, I'm surprised, I don't even remember laying down. I'm going to make some breakfast if you want anything.
"Blue milk?" Gar and Sol smiled.
"Blue but not green!" Sol laughed heartily, while Gar smiled. There is no way they would drink that green milk from The Last Jedi, yech!
Twenty minutes later, Gar joined Sol in the kitchen to enjoy Nerf steaks, blue milk, and eggs.
"Wow, this looks pretty good," Gar's mouth watered as he smelled the food.
"It tastes even better. I think it would be good even if I didn't have my world-class cooking ability," Sol was proud as he tore into the food.
"World-class cooking? I think I remember that time you made green liquid hash browns. How did you make them green?" Gar laughed.
"I thought it would be faster to use the blender, so I didn't bother peeling the potatoes. No one taught me to cook. Besides, who are you to talk? I remember a muddy pit filled with all the chemicals you could find in your parents' shed. That dog saved your life.
"Uh, I was like six when I did that, and I wasn't trying to cook. I wanted to create a label accident and get superpowers. Your green liquid hash browns were made last week. I bet Mrs. March is still mad," Gar laughed even louder.
Sol and Gar began thinking of their families and got a little sad. Gar recovered, "So we need to go into the city, I think it's about a forty-minute to one-hour walk. We should go in while it's cool. I wonder if we can get a communicator from Master M'tz."
Sol perked up, "There are a couple of equipment lockers and a cargo hold I think."
"That's the armory, I'll take you, boys, to get some equipment before you leave. Did you make me some breakfast?" Master M'tz appeared and filled his plate with food.
"Good morning, Master M'tz," Sol said.
"Good morning, sir," Gar gave the Jedi Master a pensive look.
Master M'tz noticed Gar's look, "You look like you're plotting something."
"Not plotting, I'm just wondering what kind of equipment we can get. I'm also wondering if you want us to wear our Jedi and Mandalorian outfits."
"Of course, you should dress properly," Master M'tz responded. "This is delicious, Mr. Herem! I can foresee a lot of cooking in your future. You'll be a highly sought-after cook in the future!"
Smiling broadly, Sol gave Gar a smug look, "Someone, however, doesn't appreciate my cooking genius."
"It's not me, your instructor will appreciate your talent as well. By the way, he'll be joining us in a few days. It's best if you can finish your mission before he gets here. Gar, I'll train you until you're ready to become a Padawan learner, and then your master will take over your training.
Now, let's enjoy this wonderful breakfast!" Master M'tz tore through his breakfast like a starved Rancor.
"Hey, aren't I supposed to have an R3 astromech? I haven't seen it yet," Sol said as he finished his last bite of nerf-steak.
"Do I get a droid, or maybe I should build one? I like that idea, but what kind of droid should I build, I wonder," looking pensive, once more, he sipped his blue milk.
Gar and Master M'tz cleared the table and cleaned everything up. Patting his belly in satisfaction he pretended to dawdle but saw the impatient boys.
"Okay, let's get you boys geared up, follow me."
The three went to the back of the ship and entered the weapons locker, although there were more than weapons in there.
"Is that my droid?!" Sol ran to a mostly blue R3 astromech. Its dome was a mixture of red and yellow, the dome was see-through, although the colors made it harder to see inside. Gar's hands touched every part of the droid.
"This is R3-V6, the R3 models have faster processors, more memory, and more creativity than the R2 models. This fellow can hold up to 15 hyperdrive maps, although all of his maps are blank. He is kitted out with standard astromech tools, jets on the side for short flights, and a powerful communication dish.
R3-V6, this little fellow here is Sol Herem, your new master. Introduce yourself, Sol," The R3 tweeted and twittled at Sol.
"Hi, I'm Sol, do you mind if I call you V6?" He asked. V6 rocked back and forth and twittled happily.
"I guess he likes the name," Gar said while looking around.
"Alright boys, let's get the rest of your gear, Sol, your locker is I6 use your thumbprint to open it. Your armor is inside. You've got a set of old Clone Trooper armor. It's up to you to update, upgrade, and customize your armor according to your preferences.
Gar, your locker is I3. There's some Jedi light armor that's also from the Clone Wars era. You don't have to wear the armor, but you haven't received any training yet. I've also included a practice lightsaber, it's only strong enough to stun enemies. Try not to let anyone get it from you, that would be embarrassing.
You two can take anything else that you think might be useful."
"Can I take V6, I'm already going to look out of place in my armor," Sol looked like he couldn't stand the idea of leaving his new droid behind.
"It's your mission, do whatever you want to do," Master M'tz didn't seem to care too much.
"Here, this will help a little, put it over your armor." Gar handed Sol something like a poncho that covered most of his upper body. He also used a poncho for himself, "As far as V6 and the way we're dressed, we'll tell everyone we're going to a comic con or something."
Gar put on a utility belt that had several storage pouches. He clipped a tubular device to the belt. It was two-thirds the size of his index finger, but it was as thick as his thumb. He also fiddled with his trainee saber. Gar flicked it on for a couple of moments and swung it around before deactivating it and putting it on his belt.
He selected a DL-18 blaster pistol and a Blurrg-1120 holdout blaster. The holdout blaster he hid in his left sleeve. The DL-18 was placed in his belt at the back.
It was as he finished putting on his Clone Trooper armor that Sol saw his DT57 blaster. It was beautiful. He strapped the blaster onto his right thigh and added thermal detonators to his belt pouch. He threw the poncho Gar gave him, and it did a pretty good job hiding a lot of his equipment.
When he put on his helmet he was totally in love with being a Mandalorian bounty hunter. He wondered what it would be like to have the Clone Trooper helmet, but what he wasn't expecting was the amazing heads-up display (H.U.D.)! It had thermal imaging, communications, health bars, a mini-map, and other applications he hadn't figured out yet.
"V6, follow us on our mission. Are you ready Initiate Finn?" He watched as Gar took off his ponch and decided for Jedi robes instead. The robes hid his equipment better, and when he added a helmet, minus a face plate, the hood of the robes hid that as well.
"Let's go!" Gar said. The two young men and the droid headed upstairs, when Master M'tz called for them, "Wait boys, there's one thing left before you leave." The old man smiled a foxy smile as the fully equipped pair stopped to listen.
"Don't you want to know how to use the equipment you took?"
