Double work

" Who came ?" I said.

 Mr. Jaydon Smith of A2Z Finance".

Both me and Karl were in shock. We looked at each other and our Grandpa.

" Let him in". Grandpa said.

" Why?" we said and hurriedly ran to a room nearby.

We were hiding behind the door from which we could not hear the conversation.

I was hearing them talk but didn't understand what.

Why did he come? How did they meet? What are they talking about? Does he know about us? Lots of questions came to mind at that time.

We were there for almost half an hour but we couldn't talk to each other because it would make a sound.

We heard that he was leaving. After confirmation that he had gone, we came outside.

Only Grandpa and his secretary were there.

"Why was he here?"

"What are you doing?

Why are you doing this? Karl asked questions one after the other without pause.

"I will answer your questions one by one, sit down for now," Grandpa said and took a sip of coffee from his mug.

" He came to meet me, I am doing business with him, Because he is good at his job, So…."

" So, What" I asked

"I appointed his company as a financial consultant for our upcoming 5 projects".

We were in shock.

But Karl was calm.

"That's a good idea," he said.

"How that would be good"

"If he handles projects of our company I can come to the company as his secretary and understand the workings"

"Yes!!!" I calmed down.

"I knew I didn't make a bad decision by choosing you" Grandpa continued

"Now it's your time to handle my baby carefully" and left.

"At 9.00 pm you have an online meeting with me. Be ready. It's for a briefing." Max said.

"Ok". We agreed.

As it was already late for my work, I hurried there.

It was a big room with a big king-size bed, a couch, 3 to 4 Chairs, and one big glass window through which one could see beautiful mountains. 

On the bed, a patient was getting treated. Some hospital equipment was there to keep monitoring the vitals of the patients constantly. One nurse was there checking the medicine.

The patient woke up and asked for a cup of water.

She said" Do you need anything else, Sir,"

"Still how many days do I have to rest? I feel OK now"

" You had major Surgeries, You need Physiotherapy Sir, the Physiotherapists will come Tomorrow. From tomorrow onwards you will have a physiotherapy session so that you can walk like before, Sir."

"This would not happen If that bitch ....." he clenched his teeth.

"Please Calm down sir Your vital…"

"Shut up. You don't know who I am " and He threw the cup on the floor.

" I want to meet my son call him"

"I will call him but you need to calm down and take a rest. Your heart rate is not stable".

One month passed since I became CEO of The World Media. I was learning about the company as a whole. How it works? what are income sources? Its investments, Marketing policies, Who are the clients, Company culture and so on. 

I usually have online meetings with Max at least Three times a week. He had sent many documents for me to go through.

He became my best buddy in the process. He was around the same age my father would be if he still was alive.

I still had no chance to visit the company as there were no reasons but Karl had many so he had more on-ground experience than me.

I'm learning about the company as I have to handle marketing and clients thus without proper knowledge of the company. It would be a difficult task.

It was very new to me to look at the work from a company's perspective rather than an employee's point of view.

This whole month was like working 2 jobs. Morning as an employee for another company, Night as CEO for my company.

If this switch was not enough for me

'Why do I have to do all the data entries of 5 clients'

'Why.....why....why' I put my hand on my face with some papers as I was frustrated from this and looked at the piled up files on the desk

"Pearl you are coming with me" 

I turned my face to see who was my savior from this boredom.

"Boss!!" I stood up, my chair went back a little back and some papers fell on the floor from the force I stood up.

"Leave this work to Dev and come with us for the meeting".

"Of course Sir,"

"Dev, You will continue and finish her work"

"Yes, Sir," Dev said.

I took my bag and laptop and got some snacks and a water bottle as I knew it would never end on time and I would be hungry by the end of the meeting.

I am very bad with names. I don't usually remember the names unless I usually interact with them and I am familiar with them. It may be the name of a person or the name of the places I visit. I don't remember them usually.

To this date, I don't know the name of my boss. I call him boss, that's it. Everyone will know the person I'm stating when I tell them BOSS so there was no need to remember the name.

Our cab finally came.

"Sir"

He was looking at the tab and screening some documents.

"Yes,"

"I thought you had a car"

"I have" he continued" but today I brought a bike"

"So"

" So, did you want to go to the client's place riding my bike?"

"No, but it would have been a better option seeing this traffic"

"I will never give a ride to any girl, Only wife has that right and my future daughter"

A smiled and showed him a Thumbs Up.

"You are a good husband, Sir,"

"If your questions are done, look at the documents I sent to your mail"

I opened my laptop and downloaded the documents from the mail

I read through the documents.

There I saw a familiar name

'JAYDON SMITH'

"Jaydon Smith," I said loudly.

"Yes, any problem," the boss said.

"No, No …No why would I have a problem with him"

"Good, Because you are going to work with him on behalf of our office for the next 6 months"

" What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
