As GOTG's popularity died down, Brian once again started a campaign for Spider-Man. At first, he started to sell 50,000 copies and almost instantly blew the market again. When the fans of GOTG heard of the new series they immediately flocked to bookstores.
This caused another ruckus in the bookstores in Boston since everyone was trying to get a copy, especially the avid fans. Brian was prepared this time, after the initial reaction of the people to Spider-Man Brian immediately dispatched 200,000 copies.
But this wasn't enough and he had to increase production to 500,000!
Brian looked at the amount he had earned in just three days, it was 928,091 and was still increasing. "Shit at this rate this will reach a million dollars well minus the taxes but still!"
...
After three days, John's friend finally had the time to entertain them and help them find a building. Jhon told Liam that it was better to find a building where they can start his publishing company rather than swallow whole another existing company.
"You excited?" John asked as he looked at Liam who was wearing a sweater on the hot summer day. John was also excited about this, it has been three days since they had a conversation about Liam's plans.
"Yep, I'm excited" Liam gleefully said, though it took longer for his father's friend to finally come to see them Liam doesn't care as long as he buys a suitable building to start his publishing company.
"Jhon!" A man in his late 30s said as he walked closer to them, he wore a gray suit whilst holding a brown suitcase. "Oh wait this is your son Liam? The last time I saw him he was a toddler wow he already grew up huh? Not only that he got the Lockley special eyes I see, I bet this kid can make women squeal once he becomes an adult"
Liam knew what the special eyes meant. His eyes were just like his father's and his father Jhon had the same eyes as his father, it was a genetic thing to have hazel eyes, especially to the sons in the family.
"Yeah, that's my son Liam. Stop the crap will you? Anyways how have you been Thomas?" John gave a small chuckle to Thomas.
"Yeah I've been good, sorry It took a little longer Jhon I got busy," Thomas said as he took a pair of cigarettes from his pockets. "I've been stressed lately it's killing me"
"Well I can see especially from your eyebags," Jhon said as he looked at his friend's unkempt figure. "Mind if I-" Jhon gestured to the cigarette.
"Oh sure," Thomas gave Jhon a pair as he lit it up for him. "I can't smoke at home or else my wife is going to murder me"
John chuckled. "Well, same here," Jhon said, suddenly forgetting that Liam was behind him. Jhon turned around facing Liam's innocent face "Umm"
"No worries I won't tell Mom," Liam said nonchalantly, he was also a smoker in his past life and he would take a few whenever he was feeling stressed.
"Oh please don't tell your mom alright?" Jhon said to Liam who nodded in response. John sighed in relief and put his attention back on Thomas "Anyways Thomas why don't we start now?"
"Oh yeah, come in let's go!" Thomas gestured for the two of them to follow.
As they went inside the building.
"So this company used to be a newspaper company, but since their sales plummeted they have resorted to well you know. The original owner sold this for 600,000 dollars, as you can see that includes printing machines and the building is pretty much new, and I'll give you a discount since I am Liam's godfather and your my best friend so how about 599,000 eh?" Thomas said to Jhon.
"Come on Thomas we have been friends since high school, how about 550,000" John shakes his head in disapproval due to the price.
"Come on Jhon! There is much stuff in here too; the printing machines can still be used, and the building is practically brand new" Thomas said in response.
"I'm taking 550,000" Jhon bargained.
"What? No 599,00 I'm already giving you a discount it's the last price, John" Thomas said in response to Jhon.
While the two adults were busy bargaining. Liam looked around the company and it was huge, there were also usable printing machines, and not only that once he walked to the main office it was huge even bigger than Brian's.
While the two were still busy bargaining, Liam walked around the building. What his godfather Thomas said was right though, the building was brand-new "We'll take it," Liam said and immediately Thomas heard it.
"599,000 We'll take it," Liam said as he got closer to Thomas.
"Really? That's great then 599,000 it is!" Thomas smiled in delight after hearing what Liam said though he knows the direct decision would be John's still he was glad that Liam accepted his price and is on his side.
Unbeknownst to Thomas the real boss was Liam.
"What? No! 550,000!" Jhon complained while looking at Liam who just shrugged in response.
"It's ok Dad we'll take 599,000 it's a fair price not only that the printing machines are working as well," Liam said.
"Oh can't you see your son has better eyesight than you do," Thomas said.
"Fine 590,000" John still bargained.
"Fine I'll take it 590,000 dollars" Thomas just smiled in defeat.
"Great!" John opened his suitcase and exactly counted the money on the envelope, after thoroughly counting the money he gave the envelope to Thomas. "Here 590,000"
"Well thank you" Thomas took the envelope and started counting the money as well, after a few minutes. "Well I can say the money is right," Thomas said.
"Wait do you think I would cheat on the money? Really?" Jhon said giving a hurt expression to Thomas.
"Well I got to be careful you fooled me a lot back then," Thomas said while giving a small smile to Jhon. "Anyways have fun I have to go home and tell my wife I scored another deal so bye, It was nice seeing you two" Thomas waved goodbye to the father-son duo and left the building.
