And so the race begins, the three boys didn't stop chasing them. This made Liam wonder just how much stamina these children have, as he kept on peddling he almost accidentally hit a 10-year-old boy who wore a black shirt and gray pants.
Kevin followed behind as they kept peddling as hard as they could.
...
After a few minutes, they could finally breathe in relief, somehow they managed to lose the three teenagers.
"That was close," Kevin said in relief as he kept panting. Kevin opened his red bag, took some water, and gave one to Liam, who was also sweating and panting hard.
"Well we wouldn't have been in that situation if you didn't hit that guy's foot," Liam said as he looked at Kevin while taking the water bottle given to him.
"Come on it was an accident" Kevin defended, though it was due to him that they had to sprint as hard as they could to avoid the boys.
"Yeah an accident that almost got us beaten up," Liam said as he started drinking the bottled water Kevin gave him.
"Fine, hays, anyways what do we do now?" Kevin asked, they were both in an alleyway hiding from the three teenagers.
"It's already nearing sundown, we haven't had the opportunity to look for a warehouse I can buy due to what you did" Liam sighed, the only thing they did do all day is run away from the three teenagers.
"Yeah my mom is going to kill me," Kevin said remembering the scary figure of his mother. "We should go home"
"Yeah let's go" Liam and Kevin stepped on their bikes as they headed home. Whilst keeping an eye out if they ever see those boys again. They were being extra careful.
...
"Bye Liam!" Kevin said as he waved goodbye to Liam as headed home.
Liam waved back and slowly stepped on his bike towards his home, he didn't do anything productive at all. He didn't have time to look for a suitable warehouse to start his publishing company, not only that his legs and feet are tired after tirelessly stepping on the pedal the whole day.
Liam looked at the disappearing sun and immediately sprinted back home. As soon as he came home he put his bike inside the garage.
Liam opened the door to see his mother in the kitchen. "Hi Mom I'm home"
"Oh, sweetie your home?" Silvia dried her hands using a dry towel and looked at her son. "Had fun with Kevin?"
"Yeah I had fun a bit" Liam grimaced, he didn't have fun at all, he met bullies well they weren't supposed to try and catch them if it weren't for Kevin's bike hitting the kid's foot.
"Well I'm glad you had fun sweetie" Silvia smiled delightfully and began to take some meat from the fridge. "I'm making brisket for tonight's dinner sweetie"
"Ok, I'm going to my room to get changed" Liam walked upstairs, put down his bag on the floor, and decided to get a steamy bath. He reeks of sweat due to what happened.
Liam relaxed on the hot bathwater in the tub. "This is peace" Liam mumbled as he relaxed himself. "My birthday's coming up" Liam muttered, his birthday was September 24 and he was turning nine.
"I need to start taking everything seriously now" Liam muttered, he had a lot of stuff to do. He only published two series, and there are thousands of series in Marvel, he hadn't even started with Dc.
Not only that he has a new system. Liam thought about it, but for now, he is going to focus on his Comic-Movie system first. Then with the rise of his comics, he will create a Pastry-Café themed Marvel which will surely attract thousands of fans.
After his bath, Liam took his materials and started drawing Dr. Strange. Liam concentrated on Dr. Strange, unlike his usual work which takes 5 hours or 3 hours this took only an hour.
Liam wiped the blood coming from his nose, he knew he overdid it again. "Let's stop now, I'll create the next series tomorrow."
...
After dinner. Liam and Jhon were in the study once more.
John looked at the serious expression on Liam's face. "So have you thought it through about starting a Pastry-Café?"
"Yes your right dad, this is outside of my jurisdiction. I decided that I would focus on my comics first" Liam said, for now, he will focus on building his comic empire.
"That's great you understand what I meant" Jhon nodded his head in approval. He looked at the map Liam was holding. "What's with the map Liam?"
"Dad, do you have a friend in real estate?" Liam opened the map and handed it to his father.
Jhon took the map and opened it, "Why?" John looked at the map and Liam. "Don't tell me you are planning on-" Jhon stopped as he opened the map and put it on the table, he looked at some of the sketches his son had drawn on the map. "So your planning on buying a Building"
"You know me too well Dad it's kind of scary now" Liam gave a smile to his father as he pointed at the map. "I thought about it hard and thoroughly, I am going to start my own publishing company."
John couldn't help but chuckle at this plan. "Alright then, I have a friend in real estate, do you have any thoughts on where the publishing company should be?"
"Here" Liam pointed at the most bustling part of Boston, Downtown. "I want to buy a maybe existing company Dad that we could swallow whole or a building that is for sale"
"You got the Lockley genes, I know you will make it big son" Jhon chuckled at this, and after a few minutes, he looked at the map. "Alright I'll contact my friend Thomas his also your godfather maybe he could give us a discount"
"Thanks, Dad," Liam thought that maybe this was a gift, his father was a very supportive man and so is his mother, though she doesn't knows anything about this.
