From the black-marbled hallway, the sound of a cane resounded.
The cane, 33 inches, was polished Vinewood, an extension of his wand.
The receptionist of the day was Grisheld Marchbanks herself, acting as examinee as the head of the Education department of the Ministry and the reason for the Educational Committee of the International Confederation of Wizards.
"Eren Yeager, last one to appear for the International NeWTs at Ministry of Magic. Please provide your OWL results."
NeWT examination date 2nd September 1991

Passed eleven OWLs, with an average Acceptable grade.
"Here you go, reach Ministry Hall 7 before 7 pm today. Independent International NeWTs are annual, so you would have to wait an entire year in case you miss this."
Eren walked back from the counter.
"Eren Yeager." He turned, and it was Moody, Senior Auror Moody, behind him was John Dawlish, with dark circles below his eyes.
"Auror Moody, Auror Dawlish."
"Ex-Auror. Welcome to the British Ministry of Magic, I see you are in good health."
"Better, I suppose."
"Your reason for the visit?"
"I was here to give my NeWTs. I was told they would give me an ease over my profession if I can get in."
"Which subjects?"
"All of them."
"Trying your luck in this?" Moody received a nod.
They went ahead their ways. Moody continued staring at Eren's back.
"What seems the problem with him? I read his file, there was nothing there."
"And that is not suspicious?"
"I am asking why the Head Unspeakable was involved in the case." Moody's mechanical magical eye looked Dawlish up to down, evaluating him.
"Tom has been a barkeep for nearly thirty years now," Moody said and left the place.
Dawlish stood there silently, confused.
"What does that mean?" He asked but got no reply from the pacing Moody.

"How did she die?"
In the staff meeting, there was the usual head of the four houses and the professors.
Professor Quirell was the new face on the round table, with nothing to add in the first session of the emergency staff meeting, which had been called a week before its normal timings.
"A magical beast accident. They found her stabbed through the heart with a conical sharp object. Most probably a unicorn."
"A Unicorn? Killing a wizard?" Filius asked doubtfully.
"An accident can happen regardless of the intentions of the purest magical creature." Albus's eyes twinkled. He had been the last man to have contact with Madam Pince, so he was alerted of the "murder" deemed to be an accident firsthand.
"Argus was devastated," Sinestra said with worry on her face.
"It was expected. Argus and Irma were close. They had been for years." said McGonagall.
"It is unfortunate, but we need to conduct a selection for the new Hogwarts librarian, we cannot keep the library closed for long." The Ravenclaw of the room asks the headmaster.
"I will contact the Prophet for an opening, I am sure we will have the new librarian by the end of the week, unlike the Defence Professor's post. The staff meeting was not scheduled for a week from now, but circumstances made this way. Minerva, Severus please stay for some time." The other Professors complied, leaving the room one by one.
Quirells closed the door behind him as the last one to leave.
"Albus" "Headmaster"
Dumbledore's face was one of worry. His eyes wandered off to the door of the staff room, and then to the outside.
"I have been informed, that the tragedy that stuck Madame Pince was not an accident." McGonagall was the one to react, while Severus did not do as much of a flinch at the prospect.
"Philosopher's stone?"
"I am afraid so Severus, Minerva the Dark Lord has been gone for a long, but his sympathizers, his followers yet remain, and I believe that young Harry would be in danger. Someone either wants to infiltrate Hogwarts through this open post of the Hogwarts librarian, or Madam Pince witnessed something she should not have."
"The latter holds much chance, the Defense position is vacant every year for the prior."
"Yes, but not every year does the Boy-who-lived, Vanquisher-of-You-Know-Who, and the Last Potter come to Hogwarts," Severus said with a frown.
"I will take the saying of an old friend, and ask you two to be vigilant, constantly. Dark times are ahead of us."
They leave, Minerea complaining how Albus was too trusting of the divination professor's word on the future.
Albus took his goblet and sipped the content, reminiscing the tales of the old.
...
"Ah. Mail's here!"
The owls soar by, dropping parcels to students. Harry gets nothing. He sees the newspaper Ron has put down.
" Can I borrow this? " Ron nods "Thanks."
"Hey, look! Neville's got a Remembrall!" "I've read about those. When the smoke turns red" the smoke turns red "it means you've forgotten something."
"The only problem is, I can't remember what I've forgotten."
"Hey, Ron! Somebody broke into Gringotts. Listen." he reads the article.
"Believed to be the work of dark witches or wizards unknown, Gringotts goblins, while acknowledging the breach, insist that nothing was taken. The vault in question, number 713, had been emptied earlier that same day." That's odd. That's the vault Hagrid and I went to.
"There's also a memorial for Madam Pince- it is believed to be some sort of magical beast incident. Just ten days ago a similar explanation was given to the Bloody Wednesday in Diagon Alley. The victim's name and personal information were kept private in that case."
"That's impossible! stealing from Gringotts is like escaping Azkaban! I heard stories that the goblins keep dragons down in the vaults!"

In Hogwarts, destiny was playing its course, with Harry Potter being made seeker of Gryffindor after taking Longbottom's Remeberhall from Draco Malfoy.
While in Hogsmeade, old secrets were being revealed...
