Dying and meeting a ROB was interesting. However like Dumbledore said, "After all, to the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure." And for me that was literally the truth. CYOA, SI, Jumpchain If you guys see the same fic on FF.net, spacebattles, sufficient velocity and wattpad, then it's not stolen, it's me. Picture does not belong to me. Chapter 11. Batman and Robin

One thing that Batman fans have known since forever is that Batman is a hard taskmaster. From Dick complaining about never being good enough to Jason passing out on the couch from a grueling workout it is a universal fact that Batman is a hard taskmaster. However, knowing it and experiencing it are two completely different things.

Ever since I've started training to become his partner, It's been one grueling task after another. From the long sparing sessions to the detective work, it's all been extremely difficult. If it weren't for my above average stats I wouldn't have been able to keep up. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if he purposefully made the training harder after watching me bench press 180 lbs. at the age of 13.

However, I can't complain that the results aren't there. I've never felt so light and aware before. Don't get me wrong I definitely love being able to bench press 180 lbs at 13, It's just that now that I have the training to go along with it I can use it more effectively. The difference in efficiency is staggering. The closest comparison that I can make to it is Naruto's chakra control end of shippuden vs Naruto's chakra control at the start of the series. Naruto at the end of shippuden is more about efficiently using every last drop of chakra that he has while Naruto in the beginning just brute forces it.

But I digress. After I've completed the brunt of the training all that I really needed was experience.

"Pay attention." Bruce says.

We were in the bat-cave facing the computer with a list of rogues on the screen.

"I am" I replied coolly.

He raises an eyebrow, asking me to reiterate.

"You were debriefing about which of your rogues are currently out of Arkham and who's most likely to make a move first."

He inclines his head to tell me to continue.

"Currently the only ones out of Arkham are Two Face, Penguin and Joker. Two Face is probably going to lay low for awhile, Penguin is now a "law abiding" citizen and Joker is most likely planning his next crime as we speak."

Nodding his head in affirmative he turns back to the screen and turns it off. Facing me once again he finally speaks, "Suit up it's time for patrol."

With a smirk on my face I turn around and ascend to the platform holding our uniforms with a set of acrobatic flips.

Patrolling with Batman actually involves more than just running around rooftops looking for crimes. It's a very methodical process that even factors things such as the weather. Because depending on how well equipped a criminal is will decide where we patrol. For example, if it's freezing outside the chances are that most muggers and drug dealers and other low level grunts are most likely inside their home trying to warm up. However groups like the Falcones don't care about stuff like because they have money to buy warm clothes.

As we made our way through East End District the radio in our cowls goes off.

"Dispatch we have a situation at City Hall, the Joker is inside holding the Mayor Hostage! So far he hasn't made any demands yet. He is armed and extremely dangerous - proceed with caution!"

It looks like it's about time for Arkham Asylum to begin.

Capturing the Joker was easier than any other time that we've done it before. Other than a few bombs rigged with Joker gas and his goons it was fairly easy. If I didn't know the plot of Arkham Asylum I would have actually thought that it was all over and done with.

While Batman took him to Arkham Asylum I continued to patrol around Gotham waiting for the inevitable call about the brea-

"Robin this is Oracle, we have situation at Arkham."

Speak of the devil.

Naruto: The Outsider's Resolve

[A Naruto Fan Fiction] Make the best of what you have, they said... But what I am supposed to do when the best I have are red-eyed freaks, a child who's supposed to be the jailor of the most dangerous being in the world, a snake bastard with serious boundary issues, and a whole world of super soldiers with licences to murder. And you know the best part? None of them like me so much... Oh shut it, old man! Take that Will of Fire and shove it up your— Yeah, this second swing at life isn't panning out... --------------------------------------------------------------- What to expect: - Gradual strength progression. Meaningful growth. The MC is a normal guy dumped into the Narutoverse, starts out weak and has to work and struggle for everything he gains. - "Slow" paced. My writing style is a zoomed-in look camera that follows the protagonist. It might seem slow, but I ensure something is always happening to progress the plot forward. - Gritty and often bloody fights and actions scenes with a focus on taijutsu—you'll see individual combat, team fights, and large-scale battle. - A different take on the Narutoverse. The world is full of superhuman mercenaries with liscenes-to-kill—that along with the protagonist's struggles paint the world in a much darker light. - Additions and expansion to the "chakra" power system. I consider myself a conservative when it comes to adapting the power system—and aim to retain the original feel while highlighting the best parts. - The Outsider's Resolve version of Narutoverse uses the [Naruto Manga] as the base—with additions from anime, books, and even Boruto (though very less likely). --------------------------------------------------------------- DISCORD SERVER: https://discord.gg/w5dJ82SfMr --------------------------------------------------------------- PATREON LINK: https://www.patreon.com/fictiononlyreader --------------------------------------------------------------- DECLARATION: This story is also present on: FFN, Ao3, SpaceBattles, SufficientVelocity, and ScribbleHub RoyalRoad [to be verified] --------------------------------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: I don't own any character other than my OCs. This is an impressive work of fiction. To start with it is a jumpchain novel, and the speed of the jumpchains are quite high. I personally love it because the high speed keeps me engaged and entertained. I’ve never been in the middle of a jump and thought “this is dragging too much” which is a real problem in other jumpchains. I’ve read some that will put 50 chapters into one jump or bring characters from one jump to the next meaning extra chapters in between jumps. Most jumpchains do this because it’s comfortable for them to have reoccurring voices and they can’t write with so many new voices every 5-10 chapters. Let’s talk about characterization: the characterization in this novel is fantastic and realistic, while the main character is almost reminiscent of John wick. There is focus to the mc’s actions, he enters a world and everything he does is aimed at completing his objectives and I love it. The writing is fantastic I have no gripes about the quality, grammar and spelling are both top notch. The stability of updating has not left me wanting, it comes quickly and I consume it much quicker. The development of the story is amazing, you really notice every time the main character utilizes something he has learned during a previous jump. I’m looking forward to wherever the author takes this in the next jump and every jump thereafter. The world development is a solid 5, you never forget which world the mc is in and that is a problem I’ve seen in other jumpchain novels where jumps seem to mesh together and you forget where the author has taken you. This novel definitely has my recommendation, if you have trouble with the first few chapters trust me when I say if you can get to the third jump that’s when it really starts to shine and the author locks in their style.

Definitely one of the better (imo best) jumpchains on here. Even someone like myself who knew almost nothing about many of the worlds the MC has visited I still found myself able to follow the story and not get lost. Everything is well written and explained. I also really like how the harem has been handled in this story. Most harems, nearly all of them infact, that I've read are never really that good, imo. Usually they all seem to suffer the same issues. Mainly turning females characters, regardless of their power or intelligence, into mere tag-ons swooned by the MC's amazing masculinity. Given a brief dedication in the story before quickly being faded off in the background with the other dozen love-struck women that get replaced and forgotten and made irrelevant. Well, none of that here. Despite being a harem it really doesn't have the same "feel" as one, at least to me. Mainly because the MC is not what I would consider a "playboy". He doesn't go out of his way to flirt with all the famous female characters or try to bag them for his collection. Infact for a long time and in most worlds so far he hasn't added anyone new. Because of the way the romance has been handled, even if it isn't a big focus, it actually makes it seem like the MC has a real connection with the few that he does have. Currently at the time of reading this there are four women. Though only two are obviously wives with the other two being more like daughters. Despite this these relationships did not just suddenly "happen" either. There is build up, sometimes going on for years, of friendship or mentorship between the MC and the love interest. This makes the relationship, to me, feel a lot more realistic and stable as opposed to the more typical cases of love-at-first-sight. The women actually have character and aren't just show flowers for the MC to brag about. Of course the action and gradual build-up to power is also great. It can't be easy to balance out having a MC being "really powerful" but still not completely OP to the point of no match. We watch him and by extension his wives gradually grow and become more and more powerful with each world he goes to. Even after he has become a demi-god with divinity and incredibly power magic it still can show that he has more room to grow and he isn't the most powerful - without also making him feel purposely nerfed for sake of drama.
