'Heave!'
Broly pushed the weight up quickly, forcing his muscles to suffer for the maximum time they could and then slowly brought his arms down, feeling his chest tighten and his sweat pool as he did so.
'This is the only thing I can do for now'
Broly's yellow hair remained shiny and glossy as he pushed the weight back onto the rack.
He was now lifting them at max settings and under the strain of 100x gravity in the hopes of reaching the clearer hair and stronger aura state he had seen before.
He had put together that Queen Vegeta was able to increase the quality of her Super Saiyan transformation because she experienced severe strain whilst in the form and her mental strength was strong enough to push her forward.
Broly tried to simulate this effect by pushing himself to the brink with what he had at his disposal but all it did was make his muscles hurt at most.
He never felt like he was in danger or there was a real need for him to breakthrough.
The 200x times gravity device was more than a bit too complicated to recreate with his current materials and he realised that the setting would go over the upper bound of the safety pressure limit for his ship.
'As Saiyans, our strength is born from necessity and not desire'
This became even more apparent to Broly who realised he couldn't increase the quality of his transformation by himself.
'It seems that a training partner is necessary, Saiyans are social animals through and through'
Although Broly had limited experience with the feeling, the desire to not be overpowered by a fellow Saiyan or outrage from such was enough to bridge the gap and force out the hidden potential lurking within.
'I should train Queen Vegeta, she'll grow quickly if I do it properly'
Broly was also aware of the Saiyan classes, Queen Vegeta was naturally a high-class Saiyan and Saiyans like himself and her all seemed to have very high-growth rates with proper training.
He was also aware that he was the only Saiyan to be born with a power level of 10,000, ripping through the record books by over ten times.
'But will she accept it though?'
Broly had told her on many occasions how powerful he was and each time she adamantly refused to believe him, furthermore, she acted as if the Super Saiyan incident never happened, refusing to accept that she was just wrong.
'And the last time we trained was...'
Broly's face flushed red.
'Less than succesful'
Broly laid back down on the bench and lifted the weight again, his muscles had already healed and adapted to the change for strength, so he could only use the ridiculously heavy thing for stamina.
It didn't matter whether he lifted 200 or 300 times, eventually, his arms would get tired.
'It also seems the arbitrary training only works to a degree'
On Sythis, weightlifting and callisthenics were the scientifically supported methods of strength gain and while the initial boost was great, the returns were diminishing, every time Broly left the gym, his power level increasing by even less.
'60 Million base form isn't bad though,' Broly thought smugly as he continued to train.
"Uck!"
Broly heard a small sound followed by rapid footsteps, a wry smile forming on his face.
Queen Vegeta entered the gym hall, wearing a bright red figure-hugging outfit. The fabric was thin and form-fitting and complementing her figure greatly while the top was cropped, revealing her chiselled midsection.
Broly hadn't given it to her like that so he could only assume she found something sharp and cut it.
She made her way to the Squat rack and began moving.
Broly looked at her briefly, admiring her appearance the same way he would admire a diamond and continued on with his lifting, diligently repeating.
'If her personality wasn't so awful I might try to get to know her better' he thought passingly.
A few hours went by as they both shifted positions around the room, the Queen maintaining at least 3 feet from Broly at all times. Broly paid no mind to this and finally came off the treadmill which was starting to wear as his extreme speed got the better of it.
"Your hair!" she called out.
Broly turned to face Queen Vegeta who was pointing at him in the middle of the gym.
"You dyed it?" she asked with a condescending smile on her face.
'She wouldn't know after all' Broly thought understandingly.
'Hmph!'
Broly powered down his hair turning black again.
Queen Vegeta's eyes flickered, interest brewing.
"How did you do that?" she said curiously.
"It's a long story and I don't want to waste your time," Broly said honestly, waving away her question.
Queen Vegeta's face screwed but she kept silent, not disagreeing with Broly.
'Why does he have to be so difficult?' she thought, visibly annoyed.
"Oh, I and also decided I'm going to visit Frieza, I've set course for his System so we'll be there in 2 months time," Broly said, drying his sweat with a towel.
Queen Vegeta smirked.
"So your balls have finally dropped! With the way you were acting I thought you were just to bend over and let Frieza-"
"I also decided I'm going to train you," Broly said, his eyes narrowing.
Queen Vegeta stared at Broly before breaking out into a laughing fit.
"What gives you the confidence to think that you can train me?" she said, asking genuinely.
"Because I'm stronger than you," Broly said simply.
"Is that a fact?" she said sarcastically, widening her stance.
"I'm afraid so," Broly said also readying up.
"Prove it!" she said, her eyes ready for combat.
