Attendant of Mysteries

After leaving the cathedral, Max then teleports to Daffodil Street in Tingen City.

'Hmm, that was fun.' He thinks inwardly while thinking about the past few moments.

He then heads towards Unit 2 to get Klein with him. Max knocks on the door and it's quickly opened by Melissa.

"Good evening Melissa. I am here for Klein." He first greets Melissa and then looks for Klein. Melissa feels a little discontent at this but doesn't show it on her face.

She then invites him inside and then calls for Klein. Klein then gets ready for whatever Max has planned for him by wearing his best suit which is still not that great.

After that, they start to leave the house after some small chitchat.

"Klein won't come back for around 2 days but don't worry he will be safe, Melissa."

Says Max to Melissa so she doesn't worry about Klein's safety.

Then Max proceeds to teleport to his house in Backlund with Klein in tow. They enter the villa while Klein looks awed by how much better this house looks compared to his accommodations. He once again reaffirms his resolve to work hard and get rich.

They move to an empty room, Max expands the space in the room to the size of a football field just to be safe. Klein just looks at all of these things with awe. He also added anti-divination properties around this room and also concealed it using powers he analyzed directly from Amanises during their little chat. It actually provides better concealment than from his item.

Max envisions a bed in the room and some more furniture. And then he takes out the Pink Potion.

"Drink this, it will help you in not losing control of your Beyonder powers. It will also greatly strengthen your body and spirituality so that you can become my archangel as soon as possible."

Klein looks a bit perplexed at the potion's color but he decides not to ask about it leaving Max in disappointment.

Just as Klein finishes drinking the potion. Max says, "Oh I forgot to tell you that this will be painful."

Just as he finishes saying that Klein's body spasms and he starts screaming in pain.

"AAAAAHHHHHH!!"

Max just sits on the chair and tunes the sound of Klein's screaming out and starts drinking some good old coffee and continues reading Tsukihime from where he last left off.

These actions continue for exactly half an hour after which Max turns to look at Klein's bloody condition. He starts healing Klein's injuries that Klein has self-inflicted due to pain and also placates Klein's mind to stabilize it.

Klein then looks at Max with a look full of grievance while being silent. Max just points to the chair across from him with a table in between and then starts talking.

"Come on take a seat, you should have known that power like that comes at a cost. Especially when your level is so far from it. Here read this or take a rest, whatever you want for the next hour. Then we will start your ascension."

Max gives Klein an envisioned copy of Stormwind Mountain Villa and then goes to continue his novel.

"How will we do it? Will it be by potions or something else?" Klein asks with a bit of interest after relaxing and realizing the increased processing power of his brain.

Max then explains to him how it will be done quickly and then goes back to his novel.

After an hour of this, Max stands up and gets ready. He tells Klein to get on the bed and get in the supine position.

After Klein gets ready on the bed. Max takes out one of the Attendant of Mysteries characteristics.

He then tells Klein, "Remember to maintain your sense of self throughout this. And do not follow the light."

Klein just nods at this.

Max then proceeds to drape the characteristic over Klein. There is no need to do more than that, characteristic itself will want to fuse with him instinctively. Max was just keeping the fusion at bay from it fusing with his body.

He then proceeds to make a prophecy that Klein will safely ascend after 48 hours. And then goes back to reading after leaving the room and completely isolating it from the house.

And so the time passes.

Max enters Klein's room again since two days have passed. He looks at Klein who looks a bit tired and disoriented.

"Wake up, Klein."

Klein becomes startled at that and quickly gets up from the bed. Max smiles a little at that.

"So how do you feel Klein?" Max asks him.

"Better than ever before," Klein replies concisely.

Max then transfers knowledge of Fool Pathway's power directly into Klein's brain using a purple book which is Hermit's Uniqueness that he just acquired earlier today. He used Uniqueness because it was easier that way.

"Oh wow I can do so many things now!" Klein says in excitement.

"Of course, you can. But remember not to be too cocky just because you have reached Sequence 1. Many beings are stronger and much more experienced than you." Max says while patting Klein's shoulder.

Klein nods at this and understands the situation.

Klein then asks Max, "Can I get my proof now? I think I am powerful enough for it. I am just asking that for some final closure."

Max just says, "Fair enough."

They then sit down at the table where they previously enjoyed imagined coffee. Max closes his eyes and projects his spirit above the gray fog and finds himself at the seat.

He calls Klein's spirit above the gray fog using Fool's Authority.

They then start heading towards where the cocoons are.

When they reach the place, Klein is wide-eyed by what he sees and sheds some tears after finally confirming it. Max just stands at the side since he sort of understands what Klein is currently feeling.

Klein quickly collects himself back together and then looks toward Max in gratitude and says, "Thank you."

"No need it was part of the trade."

"Nevertheless I am grateful that you told me the truth this early. Otherwise, I would have just futilely searched for it. Actually, I already knew it because of checking the Historical Void before coming here but this was for final confirmation." Klein explains.

"Let's go back then. Also, I have a mission for you." Max says with a serious expression while turning around.
