Ah shit here we go again (2)

Fors tries to use her bracelet with Traveler powers but I just lock the space down so that those powers don't work, so it doesn't activate. Seeing this she panics even more. Xio seeing that something is wrong, starts to come. Fors sees her and tells her not to come. But how can Xio leave her best friend in a predicament alone? So she ignores and walks from across the street to the Cafe. I sigh looking at this, this charm really muddled her calm thought process.

"Fors please calm down. I am not here to harm you." I say to her while shaking my head and then looking outside and smile. "Also it looks like you did not come here alone."

"Please Sir Max, Xio has nothing to do with this, so please don't involve her in whatever you want from me." She calms down, perhaps because of my charm and then pleads to me on behalf of Xio.

"Fors I think you are misunderstanding something, I don't want to do anything bad to you or Xio. You are just overreacting. And from that overreaction I can assume that you are an Apprentice (Door) Pathway Beyonder that is from or related to Abraham family. Also no need to suddenly call me Sir." I just calmly explain to her. By the time, Xio has arrived at our table and is just looking at me in a daze with a red face. Ah shit, here we go again. "You must be Miss Xio, we were just talking about you. Please have a seat."

This wakes her up and her face turns even more red, probably from embarrassment. But this reminds me, do I like Xio too? I mean the charm won't activate if I didn't have that kind of interest in her. Well this settles it then, I will court her too. Hmm she is a petite girl with dirty blonde hair and is 1.5 m tall.

"Then Max what are your intentions for calling us out like this? Also you must be a powerful Beyonder right? What do you want with commoners like us?" She asks me seriously.

"It is true that I am a powerful Beyonder. But it's also true that I like your novel a lot Fors, the drama in the story is very thrilling to me. And it somehow came to my notice through some sources that you had problems on full moon, so in order to help my favorite author out I threw a bait to see if the problem was serious or not. And believe me, full moon ravings are very serious." I tell her truthfully. Then I turn towards Xio who seems to calmed down and is thinking something.

"So what do you know about full moon ravings Max?" Fors asks me with a bit of anticipation and excitement.

"These full moon ravings come from the apex existence at the Apprentice Pathway called Mr Door who is currently corrupted. These ravings are 'His' cries for help to come back through his descendants. Throughout the last millenium, a lot of Abraham family members have lost control because of this. Fors you must have advanced through a Beyonder characteristic left behind from a member of Abraham family, or you are their descendant." I tell her. And she looks stunned and turns white from fear. Xio also makes a serious face at this information.

"Is there anything we can do then?" Fors asks me nervously.

"Yes, you could pray to a God to save you from corruption. If they deign to answer, they might give you protection from it." I tell her of a nigh impossible solution.

"Haha that's an impossible solution isn't it? I am not even that pious to begin with." She laughs self deprecatingly.

"Or I can protect you from it." I say with certainty. At this they look at me with surprise.

"Max are you a High Sequence Beyonder?" Fors asks me and Xio looks at me in amazement.

"Yes." I answer to her succinctly. At this she is surprised.

"But why would you do this? What do you want in return?" She asks me warily.

At this I give them a meaningful smile and their face turn red. "Fors in return, I would like to ask you out on a date. What do you think? It's fair right." I ask her with a smile. I just went a direct route since other things seemed unnecessary.

"I don't think I am worthy of this treatment from someone of your stature, but if that's what you want then sure I will go on a date." She says with a blushing face.

"Don't talk nonsense by saying things like worthiness, if I say you are worthy then you are. Nobody else's opinion matters. Also a date for every full moon I give you protection. Isn't that fair?" I say to her and she just nods with a red face and a weird smile. I hope she is not thinking of a plot with me as a template. "Well tomorrow is a full moon, why don't you come where I live tomorrow and I will provide you protection."

"Can I come too?" Xio asks in her young sounding voice, wow she really is a- let's not finish that thought it's rude to Xio.

"Sure why not? Also I feel that you are somehow familiar, Miss Xio." I speak to her.

"Just call me Xio, Mister Hendrix." She tells me.

"Then you can call me Max as well. Also Xio are you from a former noble family? Wait are you from Dere family?" I ask her with a "surprised" expression.

"Max how do you know about that?" Xio asks with surprise. Fors seems to be surprised too but I am not sure of what.

"I think we met when we were small, maybe you forgot? Well my family had already declined by that time." Of course I have already added Hendrix as a fallen aristocratic family in the minds of everyone in Backlund, so this doesn't come out of nowhere.

Xio goes deep in thought at this, but then shakes head. "Sorry but I can't seem to remember you."

"That's fine after all I am younger than you, so you might not recognize me from when I was small." I just tell her that. And Fors and Xio seem surprised at this.

So they both ask simultaneously, ""How old are you Max?"" I chuckle at their question.

And then I answer, "18 years." At this suck in their breaths, and I can understand it after all 18 year old demigod is a crazy thing to know about.
