Resumen

The Third Dimension is collapsing. The Fourth Dimension is descending. First it seemed that only technology would evolve, but who knew the world itself could too? It wasn’t as simple as climate change or tectonic movement. No, the fundamental laws of physics that governed everything were changing. Leonel was fairly lucky. His family was decently well off, his father loved him enough to brew vomit inducing nutrient rich smoothies every morning, and this was both the day of the National Championship and his 521st confession to his dream girl, Aina. As his father always said, nothing was more important than respect and persistence. Unfortunately, everything changed that night. At the after party of ages, the world reached a saturation point and an apocalypse descended. Abilities awakened. Sub-Dimensional Zones opened. Invalids rampaged through the Earth like a virus... Those who could evolve would have a slim chance for survival. Those who couldn’t would die. This novel will be a unique spin on the dungeon/system genre. Dungeons won't be dungeons and the system won't be a system... Take a look to find out what I mean :) -------- For Updates - @Awespec on twitter or https://discord.gg/awespec for discord https://www.instagram.com/awespec_/ https://dimensional-descent.fandom.com/wiki/Aina_Brazinger

Chapter 1Leonel Morales

Leonel barreled down a set of spiraling stairs. With a leap, he cleared the railing, foregoing the last of the steps to land in a living room. Jumping over a couch, he rounded a corner into the kitchen to snatch a bottle of foul green liquid.

"Thanks for the daily dose of cow shit, dad. Really appreciate it."

A middle-aged man looked up from his tablet, pushing his glasses up with a couple fingers. He was lounging behind the large glass doors that opened from the living room into the backyard when his son's usual defamatory statements entered his ears.

"In another rush toward failure?"

"I'll succeed this time!"

Instead of launching himself out the front door, Leonel actually made his way back up the set of spiraled stairs.

"That's what you said the last over hundred times."

Leonel didn't wait for his father's next sarcastic statement. He pushed opened the attic doors and swung himself out of the three-story high triangular windows. His actions looked no different from an attempt at suicide, but his hand just barely caught the ledge, swinging himself upward to latch onto a weakening water drainage pipe.

Like a spry monkey, the plastic lid connector of his bottle hanging from his teeth, he climbed to the roof, landing on the angled tiles with a practiced ease.

[Subject: Leonel Morales]

Leonel ignored the beeping female voice emitting from his wrist, his eyes having locked onto his next target.

The suburb Leonel and his father lived in was decently well off and could be considered a part of the upper middle class. However, the location of their home could only be described as odd. Or, rather, the entire suburb community was out of expectations.

The community existed on a large flying platform that orbited a main city below like the Moon did the Earth. These so-called Floating Paradises acted as a solution to the housing crisis of 2066, effectively fixing the problem by creating more surface area for housing.

Nowadays, only the obscenely wealthy could live on the surface. Leonel's destination happened to be this lofty surface world. Though, while most who lived on these Floating Paradises could only catch a glimpse from time to time, Leonel traveled down almost everyday.

'… 17 seconds.'

Leonel crouched on his home's roof. His and his father's home happened to be at the very edge of the Floating Paradise. Of course, there were several safety measures taken. But, that wouldn't stop Leonel.

Despite his vantage point, he couldn't see the backyard his father had been sitting in. In fact, his home looked completely empty from the outside due to a privacy setting.

He swung his head back, taking a big swing of his dad's green concoction. In that moment, not only did his tongue seemingly light on fire, but even his lungs burned. One would think he was breathing in a raging fire's smoke instead of drinking a smoothie.

"Agh… Really outdid yourself this time, old man."

Leonel suddenly took a leap. At first, it seemed that he wouldn't make it very far. He'd fall three stories and come out with a broken leg if he was lucky.

However, that was when a sudden gust of wind crashed into his body. If it wasn't for its sturdy straps, the backpack to his back would have been flung off entirely.

A fierce WHOOSH filled Leonel's ears as he was taken into the skies.

His arms and legs spread out, a refreshing smile playing his features as though he didn't realize that he looked no different from a madman to any sane observer.

He was a lone man above the clouds, free falling without a care in the world. His clothes whipped against his own body, revealing a hidden toned torso.

When it seemed that Leonel would be falling hundreds of meters to the surface below, his body tucked and rolled, bursting through a layer of white clouds that spritzed a refreshing dew across his face. His last bit of fatigue vanished without a thought.

With a dull thump, he rolled across the hard ground. It only took a moment to realize that this wasn't in fact the ground at all, but rather the very top of a sky scraper that seemed to hold up the clouds.

"Perfect score." Leonel grinned, praising himself.

[Infraction Code 213.13.1 - Unauthorized entry to the surface. Under the Sky Island Act of 2071, this is classified as a Type 7 Felony]

[Subject Leonel Morales, 17, has been targeted for capture. It is advised that subject remain where they are to avoid added charges]

[Subject classified as a minor. Guardian Velasco Morales has been contacted]

[Error. Communication failure. Attempting reboot]

Leonel's grin widened. Having a retired Tier 5 government official as a father had its perks. For example, any crimes linked to a retiree of such prestige was directly handled by the Bureau of Intelligence and Protection, or BIP for short.

Since Leonel was a minor, all of his crimes were forwarded to his father to be vetted by BIP. With his father's name at his back, small crimes like this were directly ignored. Unfortunately, though, his eighteenth birthday was coming up soon.

Leonel popped up, grabbing a silver framed bicycle hidden in a corner. He leapt from the building's side, swinging his bike's seat between his legs just as he firmly landed on a cylindrical glass structure attached to the side of the skyscraper.

Due to the suffocating lack of space and the obscene price per square footage, almost every building on the surface was interconnected in some way. The skies were filled with glass tunnels, towering structures were sometimes no more than a meter or two apart, and personal vehicles were incredibly rare even for the rich who could afford to live here.

"Get to school the normal way, boy!"

Leonel's laughter rang out as though there wasn't a several hundred meter drop beneath him.

"Screw off, Lenny. I'll start taking the tube the moment you agree to pay those ridiculous fees for me."

"My name isn't Lenny!"

Leonel pedaled away to duck away from the old man's next round of nagging. He still didn't know how the old man always managed to know when he arrived and also had no idea where his voice was being projected from either, but he could only assume that he was sulking behind one of those one-way viewing windows.

Streaking across the high rises of the surface city, Leonel sped through the dense metal forest far faster than many thought possible. Eventually, the tall skyscrapers began to shorten and Leonel had no choice but to change his tactics lest he get caught by some busybodies.

Finding his usual back alley, he dropped three or so meters as a time, hopping his bike from glass tunnel to balcony to light post before eventually landing on the ground.

He took his backpack from his back, pulling out a pair of grey slacks, a recently pressed white shirt, and a navy blue blazer.

He quickly stripped himself of his sports wear. After leaning a mirror the size of a piece of paper again a large garbage disposal bin, he slicked his hair back with his accumulated sweat.

"Refresh."

A UV light swept over Leonel's body. In a flash, his accumulating body odor was killed off, replaced by a neutral, refreshing scent.

In a moment, he had put on his grey pleated pants, buttoned up his shirt, and slid on his blue blazer. After putting on his bag, he stood up to his full height of 6'3".

He smiled toward his propped up mirror. It wasn't because he was overly satisfied with his own appearance, though he could be considered to be quite handsome. Rather, he was testing to see which smile came off the most charming.

His skin was a tanned bronze, his short hair swept freely in the wind with its dirty blond almost amber color, and his eyes were a pale green.

Leonel was not only tall and toned, but his frame was both lean and well-built. Despite this, he had a kind and inviting disposition. His presence made others feel comfortable.

In truth, if others knew he was practicing his smile, they'd think he was crazy. He was more than charming enough, was there a need to practice anymore?

Surprisingly, almost an hour ticked by before Leonel's watch beeped once more. Realizing he would be running late if he wasted anymore time, he hopped on his bike. But, his pace was much slower this time, not wanting to ruin his effort by sweating once more.

He didn't have long to go. The streets leading to his school were nothing like the congested communities he had passed through before. It was like entering a whole new world.

There was greenery all around, ancient trees vibrantly recovering from the winter months, and winding paths that led to beautiful architectural feats.

This place was the third ranked academy on Earth, a prestigious place only for the elites of the younger generation — Royal Blue Academy.

"Leo!"

"Good luck!"

"We have bets on you succeeding this time!"

Leonel grinned as he passed by a few groups of students preparing to head to their classes, waving in acknowledgment.

Soon, Leonel's gaze landed on a massive dome-like building. It stretched hundreds of meters in every direction and had several entrances just from the front.

Even among Royal Blue Academy students, there were different separations. To be able to step into this building, only the highest ranked seniors could do so.

However, even with such a masterpiece before him, Leonel's view was completely filled with the sight of just one young lady standing near the top of a wide set of white marble stairs.

She looked like a dainty fairy descended from the skies. Her long, flowing black hair gently waved in the wind, only resting at the small of her back every so often. Her eyes were a warm amber that bordered on gold, making her seem like a goddess separated from the world.

A small group of friends stood around her. Their banter caused her to smile a shy smile that gripped Leonel's heart and refused to let go.

When she looked up and met Leonel's gaze, he felt that the entire world aside from her had turned various shades of white.

Her delicate tanned yet fair skin, the small slope of her nose, the way the wind gently caressed her thigh-length dress, revealing the curves she so modestly hid.

Though not an inch over 5'7", she had a presence that captivated the world, one larger than even Leonel himself believed he had.

The young fairy blushed profusely when she saw that it was Leonel, a crimson tide waded from her slender collarbone and up her neck, coating her soft cheeks.

"Aina…" Leonel's voice was powerful and filled with emotion as though this was the very first time he was doing this.

"Ah, he's here again." One of Aina's friends teased.

"Stop enabling him." A fiercer friend rebutted. "Poor Aina has been getting harassed to death by him for the last four years. Get lost!"

Leonel seemed used to this good-cop, bad-cop routine. But the truth was he couldn't even see or hear them. His senses were incomparably focused.

"I won't stop until I have a real answer from you." Leonel's gaze burned. In that moment, his pale green eyes seemed to gain a new light, becoming a green more vibrant than even the trees around him. "I must be your man. Will you have me?"

The surrounding students all simultaneously stopped as though collectively holding their breaths.

Aina's cheeks grew several shades of red darker, almost becoming as ripe as a tomato. Her small lips trembled before she turned and ran up the steps, disappearing into the Academy halls.

Leonel gained another glare from Aina's fierce friend before she and the much kinder young lady rushed after the embarrassed Aina.

In the end, Leonel could only sigh. Seemed that today was yet another failure.

~30~ Chapters review. Why should you start reading this book? Because it's great of course! More seriously, I've read the other books of our dear author, so here is what I can tell you: - Author knows what he is doing, it's not his first shot. - Author knows how to write a novel in a more than DECENT ENGLISH and his writing is FLUID, things that unfortunately very few webnovels can boast about, especially in early chapters - Over the last few years, author has proven that he was capable of publishing multiple chapters daily. He won't disappear or go on a 6-months hiatus. - 1chap/day will probably increase in the near future after the author finishes one of his other books. If you like eastern fantasy, give a try to his other books, they are great, not flawless but they will entertain you! Now, what about THIS novel? I had some reservations about the 'system' tag because I find that systems in novels more often than not remove agency from the mc, make his growth unnatural and authors don't know how to balance that later in the story. So I'm relieved that this is a 'light system' so far, it is not some godlike entity granting op bonus only to our mc. Mixing evolution, system, apocalypse, and cultivation is a breath of fresh air! I hope author will find the right balance throughout the novel. It reminds me of 'The Oracle Paths' a little bit, but the two novels are still very different. Characters are compelling, no major flaw there so far. I don't think there will be any harem. I hope author will introduce more side characters not existing only through our mc, the very best novels also shine thanks to their original side characters, I know that it's sometimes hard to balance as the story still has to focus on one mc. I wish that our mc will continue to grow differently compared to the mcs from the author's other books, we readers like variations in our characters' personality. Overall this has been a very enjoyable 30 chapters read, I recommend everyone to give it a try, you won't regret it! This novel has the potential for top 10, I'm certain of it. PS: I hope Dyon can work faster, Dimensional Descent also needs 3 chapters a day!

Dimensional Descent is a story about Leonel Morals and him trying to become as strong as possible as his world starts evolving to the next dimension. Originally, I gave this novel a better score, maybe it's just because I'm burnt out, but looking back on the novel it really isn't as good as I previously stated. Writing quality is great, there isn't many mistakes if you aren't specifically looking for them. (5/5 stars) Story development is where I'm most conflicted. You see, I really can't call it bad when I've read to nearly a thousand chapters. However, I feel like I just walked a thousand steps only to realize theres an innumerable amount of steps more. I have read to chapter one thousand, only to realize the story has gone a little everywhere, while at the same time nowhere. The only difference from the start of the novel and now is that the main character is stronger, and has more connections. It is chapter 1000, and there is still no direction for the novel. The main character has fought so many different organizations, strong enemies, etc, but looking back on it they were all pointless as it feels like none of this helped the main character's non-existent goal. How many more chapters will it take for the story to gain direction? I'm kind of tired of reading about so many "unique" characters only for all of them to be later deemed irrelevant. Aside from all this, I've long lost track of how people "progress". The main character has already done five hundred different ways to get stronger, and they all feel super exaggerated until the main character fights someone. Listen, even if you constantly say "it's a miracle for someone like the main character to fight x." I don't buy it. The main character has such a ridiculously overpowered ability that I feel is super underplayed and overplayed at the same time. His ability does everything, just not that well compared to something else. This story is the definition of the phrase "Jack of all Trades, Master of None." (2/5 stars) As for character design, I can't give an honest answer at this point. All the characters are logical, and do actions that make sense of their character. This might be due to the story rather than the characters, but theres nothing unpredictable about these characters. In one thousand chapters there is not a single character that has surprised me with their actions. Rather disappointing. Aside from that, the main character has such ridiculously slow character development it's stupid. The main character has had a "lot" of character development if you want to play with semantics, but absolutely nothing has changed. His character is the exact same, except he thinks a bit differently on a few things. It's annoying. These characters aren't substantial at all, they all feel hollow with the outline of logic. Also, I will never understand the relationship between Aina and Leonel, it feels like it changes every chapter. Aside from the first portion of the novel, it's basically just Leonel chasing after Aina constantly, and Aina constantly leaving to do something else whilst saying shes in love with Leonel. It's annoying. This is still happening at chapter 1000, and I feel like this whole relationship is too tedious to make sense. (2/5 stars) World background is a mess. They have introduced so many things and none of them conflict with each other. It feels like a world with no standard, no rules. It genuinely feels like the author is just making things up as they go along. This is doubly so for the power scaling/development, theres so many ways to progress, the "best" path for the main character changes whenever the author feels like he didn't praise the main character's overwhelming might enough. Politics are a mess to be honest. I never really understood half of what the author was ranting about. This is a world of dimensions, where the higher the dimensions the stronger the people and planets are. According to the author, a 4th dimensional existence is a god to a 3rd dimensional existence. In theory. The problem with this is it's basically irrelevant the entire story as the main character fights so many people stronger than him it's ridiculous. Aside from that, world background has the same problem that lies with character design and story development. There is a LOT of world background, but nothing really substantial. It feels like they are just padding it out instead of making sure the base is solid. (2/5 stars) Overall, this is a fairly good story superficially. Once you dig deeper you'll realize theres nothing really there, and it gets hard to read. Don't get me wrong, the characters are great, and the fights are thrilling. However I almost immediately got burnt out realizing it was chapter 1000 and realized the story basically hadn't progressed from stage 1. The author is great at writing, but the author made the story go in the wrong direction. I give this novel 3.2 stars out of 5.

I hope the author/moderator doesn't delete comments that give true and real feedback, simply because it's not to their liking. Because it takes time and effort to give constructive feedback. I've seen them do it too often. And the only 120+ reviews have me wondering if that's the case, especially for a novel with 3+ mil views👀. The concept of the novel is very good as it combines my favorite novel The Ultimate Evolution with the concept of doomsday/world ascension. World ascension is a novel type I really like after reading Battle of Ascension and to have it combined with the concept of my favorite novel had me hyped. It was to the extent that I had a novel idea after reading Ultimate Evolution and Terror Infinity a few years ago but with the aspect of History being the driver... but I guess this novel already used it 🤷‍♂️. So it's no doubt that I like the concept. But this one is really disappointing. The MC's mentality is way too Beta and the novel too rushed. It's not a matter of speed leveling or the like, but that way too many instances are skipped or just barely glossed over which leaves readers confused. These don't make the novel "drop worthy" at least not for me because I love this type of novel, but it's still very confusing and very disappointing nonetheless. WQ 4/5: Very good writing quality if you ask me. SD 3/5: The beginning or at least after DD happens, the story seems overly rushed. Some may say that skipping some growth segments are obvious and deem it ok or at least it's not bad. But this kind of SD makes the novel very confusing. Half the time things are happening but I wonder why it's happening at all. It's like plots just come jumping out at you. So it's difficult to follow. CD 2/5: This is one of the worst CD I have ever seen tbh. It's already 80 chapters into the novel yet the MC is still as Beta as the first 5 chapters. He is still crying about morality every other chapter which makes it so difficult to read and very repetitive. Not to mention him constantly grasping unto the leg of the girl who is clearly using him... at least to me she is using him. UD 5/5: Best thing about the novel. 24+ chapters per week is really great, especially if you like this novel. WB 3/5: It's not terrible and it's not great. This ties in either the rushed SD from above. Because the SD is so rushed, after 80 chapters in, all I know about the WB is that it's some futuristic earth and the one city he stays in or around.... and of the 2 dungeons he entered.

Hi 1. The Einstein once said. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. The MC confessed to the very same girl more than 400 times during 4 years without getting any answer. Just from that you can see he is an idiot. That girl is the same. Maybe it is good that two idiots found one another. But from my perspective it is a tragedy. 2. The story is good for 2-3 hours of reading but it becomes boring later. All the same.. I really do think that books more tham 700-800 chapters are overkill. Before writing the book you should know how to end it. Make a story and only then write. Imagine if you start to build a house but you do not know how it will looks like or how many floors/rooms it will have what will you build?? This book is exactly the same. Author just spilling words for updates. The more you read the worse it becomes. 3. There is no system to measure the person power. The MC learns something becomes stronger and stronger but how strong exactly? How much one skill stonger than the other? Magic force, dream force, star force e.t.c. what are the ranking between them? I completly lost track... It all looks like a mess and who is stronger depends on author mood. If it is so why write about cultivation, levels, forces. All of them are meaningless. 4. The overall feeling about the book is negative. People stuggling, dying, scheming, used by others.... There is no real trust, support, loyalty, happiness in the book (almost none). Most of it is negative. Can not continue anymore.

Nevermind, I dropped it again. The story got so good when he finally set his mind towards a goal, but then it got ruined. The whole situation with Aina and Rychard was so stupid and uncalled for. And some people will say “but Aina’s personality got reset” but Idgaf. She still had her memories. Allowing another guy to court her was bs, and it was bad enough, but somewhere along the line it suddenly turned into a situation where they’re about to get married. Rychard was absolutely unnecessary to the story. He got beaten, went home, used a story to have a go at The Linux family which is Leonel’s mother’s family. You’re telling me, that every random person that hears the name ‘Morales’ will immediately know that they’re an extremely powerful family, and look at Leonel a bit warily, however, a guy from a 6th dimensional family somehow had no idea who they were? Really? And he was spreading a story about leonel’s mother having a child with a “nobody” and yet, the people around him couldn’t tell that that “nobody” is from a 7th dimensional family? Let’s agree that the story was kept secret. When they spread the story and mentioned the name ‘Morales’, nobody thought about questioning wether he’s related to the morales family or not? They just went with “haha, she married a nobody and gave birth to a piece of trash.” And how convenient that it wasn’t until Leonel almost killed Rychard that somehow they realized that “oh, he’s a Morales.” For all the good writing that was put into this novel, this arc ruined it for me, big time. Doubt I can continue.
