The Vision

Later that

night, after all classes were complete and finishing his meals at the dining

hall. Romerix was asleep, the pearly crescent moon high to its peak with some

clouds covering the sky. But not just asleep he was tossing and turning in

restlessness with perspiration filling the pours of his body. Romerix woke up in a frightened state, on a

cold surface that felt like dirt. He jolted up and glanced around, finding

himself within a massive wasteland, some mountain in the distance.

He stood to his feet, confused on where he is and if that was he still dreaming or was he

brought somewhere? He couldn't figure it out but what he did notice was the sky

pitch black unlike any night he had seen before, and why was the moon larger

then normal he thought to himself. The pearly white moon was full . The winds

were eerily silent and still. And this feeling he had. It filled him with dread,

the feeling was like someone or something was watching him. Frantically

Romerix looked around. His eyes met....something that sent chills down his

spine. This thing barely resemble a human but seemed humanoid, and from this

distance between them it could easily be as tall as a house. Its eyes were abnormality

wide with pupils the size of pins that barely could be seen. It's body

contorted and twisted in an uncanny and un-natural way it's malnourished body dark

grey and long limbs that fell to the ground at the end of its if you want to call them

hands. It's fingers were long and came to a talon like point. And appendages like

large malnourished fingers came out of its back, burrowing into the dirt

underneath it.This creature's

jaw was unhinged like an anaconda and the grin that seemed to curl unnaturally

up to where ears would be but all there was, was a hole on each side of its

head. The grin was enough to make Romerix frozen in fear. With rows of long

needle teeth. This thing didn't seem to move just stare directly at him. "WHAT

ARE YOU!?" Romerix shouted in a panic not knowing what it was or where he is.

His breathing was short and quick.

The creature

did not answer but what it did do was slowly raise it's left arm up and with

what could be assumed it pointing finger, pointed towards the moon. Romerix in

fear looked at the moon, not knowing what to do. Seeing nothing was happening

Romerix looked back at the creature which filled his very core with fear. It's eyes

were gone, its needle like teeth were gone and its mouth had become longer. A

crack like a bone had just freshly snapped came from the creature while it

tilted its head left. When it tilted its head left a loud chime of a

grandfather clock bellowed out from within it. The sound droned out. The

creature snapped its head to the right. Again the chime of a grandfather clock

rung out, this time deeper with a sinister rattle to it. Everything

around Romerix started having a red tinge to it, no matter where he looked

everything would become more and more red. His fear only intensified the weight

of it felt like he was suffocating while

still breathing. The creature brought its head back to its original location,

the sound of the chime bellowing out once more. This time it sounded distorted and

crackly. Romerix's eyes slowly looked up towards the moon, something was

drawing them to it. The moon once pearly white was now a deep blood red. " Lla tsol

stared at the creature in fear. It was speaking to him in a language he

couldn't understand, he did not know what it was saying to him but he was too

afraid to ask it. The ground cracked beneath Romerix's feet, splitting apart.

He took a couple steps back as he watched the large formed crack emit a orange

glow. Then from within the cracks a multitude of what sounded like blood

curdling screams emitted from the ground within. Hands of

people frantically tried to claw and grip onto the sides of the split earth for

anyway to get out. The cracks and split earth then snapped shut. Everything

fell silent as Romerix breathed with quick shallow breaths. Romerix was

compelled to stare at the creature. His body wouldn't allow him to move. The

creature snapped its head to the left, using its limbs to launch at Romerix

with ungodly speed. As it reached

him, he would awaken from the vision he had In a sweat. Jolting his body

forward he screamed in fear, backing up into the wall at the head of his bed. Zacharias

and Lunai who were beside his bed jumped backwards from a fright to his sudden

awakening. "Romerix are you alright!?" Zacharias asked concerned. "What the hell was that!" Lunai said in a fright. Romerix was

breathing heavily, his eyes full of fear while they snapped towards both

Zacharias and Lunai. Other students were outside the dorm room door with their

heads peeking through to see what all the commotion is about. "Hey Romerix it's

us." Zacharias said in reassurance.

Lunai started to become worried. "it was just a nightmare Romerix your okay"

All that was on Romerix's mind right now was that thing he saw it wouldn't leave him like it

was now burned into his memory. Right now even as a adolescent he wanted his

mother and uncle to comfort him. To tell him everything is fine and dreams or

nightmares can't hurt him. But they weren't here right now. Sera rushed into

the room, having overheard Romerix scream. "Is everything okay? I heard a

scream." She asked. Lunai and Zacharias looked back at Sera with a nod. "Yeah

Romerix had a nightmare but everything is okay now." Zacharias said calmly. "He

doesn't look okay." Sera said sympathetically. Sera walked

over to Romerix and sat down on the side of his bed, holding him in her warm

embrace. She wanted to make sure herself he was ok. "Its okay Romerix it was

just a nightmare they can't hurt you." Sera said soft-spoken. Within her warm

embrace Romerix began to calm down from what he thought was a bad dream, his

breathing slowly returning back to normal. "I'm okay now guys...just..a bad

dream is all." He said breathy with a smile.

Sera looked

up at Romerix finally realising how close she was to him. Her cheeks turning

rosy red. She briskly let him go and stood up. "U-uh w-well I'll see you guys

in class bye!" Sera said High-pitched

quickly leaving to room. Romerix got out of bed with a raised brow of

confusion. "Okaaay? She's acting weird again." The students outside the room have left seeing Romerix was alright. "See you at

class Romerix." Zacharias said with a smile. Both Lunai and Zacharias left Romerix

so he could get changed into his student attire. He left the room with his

thoughts rattling about what he dreamt about. Romerix saw Headmaster

Velocitarius was looking out at one of the windows of the academy within the

corridor. So he walked over to him in hopes to ask him about his dream. "Uh

headmaster Velocitarius can I speak to you for a moment?" he asked.

Velocitarius looked at Romerix with a smile. "Of course you can young man..you

seem distraught? Is everything alright?." Velocitarius said softly. Romerix was

anxious in telling Velocitarius about his dream or nightmare if it even was one

but he spoke up anyway. "I had this...strange dream while I was asleep..well I

don't know if it was a dream...but it felt real and like I was there." Romerix said anxiously. Velocitarius gazed

at Romerix warmly and placed his hands behind his back. "Tell me about this

strange dream you happened to have?" he asked. Romerix was nervous on what he should say but none the less he

believed he could trust the headmaster

with what he had to say. "Well in this dream I was in this wasteland of

some kind, there was no one around or could be seen. The sky had no stars but

the moon was full." Velocitarius gave his full attention to Romerix wanting to

hear everything he had to say. Romerix continued. "There was no

wind and it was eerily silent too. And in the distance this....thing..I don't

know what it was but it was big and not human at all, it looked...evil, and the

grin...its grin was twisted and contorted unnaturally. I couldn't move while

staring at it. I screamed out to it asking it what it was but it didn't answer

all it did was point at the moon." Velocitarius's expression changed from warm

to a borrowed frown, as he has never heard of a dream quite like this before.

Romerix continued to speak. "As I looked

at the full moon I became confused as nothing had happened or was happening. So

I looked back at this creature...and..it's large wide eyes were just black

holes and it's mouth...it just was like a snake when it unhinges its jaw to eat

but in a terrifying way." He spoke with unease. As Romerix continued to tell

the headmaster about his dream,

Velocitarius didn't know exactly what to make of it. It wasn't that he

didn't believe him but more he hadn't heard of something like this in all his

life. "This thing

snapped its head from left to right three times and each time it did this loud

chime came out of it like a bell and each time it got deeper and more creepy.

Then I noticed everything was turning a tinge of red and my eyes were drawn

back up to the moon. The moon turned red like blood." Romerix said full of unease. Velocitarius

would be taking this matter seriously. Taking in the information of what

Romerix was telling him, Velocitarius was coming to the conclusion this might

not be a simple dream or a mere nightmare but something else entirely. To him it

sounded like a vision of sorts or a premonition. Romerix continued. "Then that

thing started to speak to me...it's voice spoke in a language I couldn't

understand at all and when it finished talking the ground under me broke apart and

glowed orange like fire then I heard multiple people screaming out in pain and hands

clawing for a way out. Then it closed shut and my eyes were forced to look at

this creature and as o did it lunged at me at a speed above anything I've ever

seen before. Then I woke up before it got me." Romerix was

clearly on edge about this vision he had, still unsure what to make of it.

Velocitarius stroked his beard, pondered in thought for the moment. "Hmm this

is strange indeed...it sounds to me you were given a vision of some sorts."

Velocitarius remarked. Romerix became confused, was it a vision he was given.

Was that really what that horror he saw. Was it actually a vision given to him

by something. "A vision?." Romerix asked. "was it really a vision?" The

headmaster nodded slightly as he stroked his beard. "Yes by the sounds of it,

it was indeed one. But I wouldn't ponder on it too much today. If it continues,

let me know and I'll see what I can do." Velocitarius said warmly with a smile.

Romerix nodded

his head thankful he can trust the headmaster with this. "Now off you pop you got classes to get too young man." Velocitarius said briskly. "Yes headmaster and thank

you." Romerix gave the headmaster a bow of respect then turned around and walked

to his next class. The headmaster with a warm smile watched Romerix walk away out

of sight before turning around, his demeanour changed to that of a burrowed frown,

and his eyes became cold. He made his way back to his office through the hallways

and corridors. "A threat...don't"

said a slow and deep voice. Romerix jumped slightly, glancing around. "What! W-who

said that?" He asked in surprise. Hearing no response he thought his mind was playing

tricks on him. He shook his head and shrugged it off. "I must be hearing things."

He thought to himself. "Oh crap I'm going to be late for class!." Romerix said fast-paced.

Rushing to class through a run.
