Boundless Gilgamesh

The first hero, the king of Uruk, is said to be destined for greatness. Not to die at the hands of a faker, a mongrel born to serve him. He felt a tug on his soul. Speculation raged; perhaps he was being summoned for another grail war. After sensing the summoning end, he opened his eyes to find.... ——————————————— This is my first time writing a story, so don't flame me too hard. Ch. 4 Hello, old friend

---(Ishtar POV)---

I was having a good time at my party when a stranger entered and killed everyone. He had a maniacal grin on his face, as if he had been anticipating this moment his entire life. The man's golden hair and wine-colored eyes gave him a very endearing appearance, I thought. I decided to have some fun with him and then give him to my Familia if he disappointed me.

"Ishtar, you are even more of a slut than you were back then," He said.

He dared to call me a "slut." The word makes me angry. I am the goddess of love and sexuality. My purpose is to have sex with numerous men and women. Just as I was about to comment, I was strangled by a stunning gold chain, far more terrifying than Freya or Ouranos. My body in heaven was disconnected from me, and since my divinities were sealed, I was reduced to mortal status. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue, but having a man who appeared to want to kill me nearby wasn't the best situation.

"W-what a-are y-you g-going t-to d-do t-to m-me?" I stumbled through each of my words. I was petrified beyond belief. If I died, I would lose my personality and become an empty shell, only to reincarnate as a new god of love and sexuality.

"You will see, you will see." He answered in a tone that belied his hysterical grin, which frightened me even more.

I summoned an A-rank noble phantasm, a stand with a central black fire. This admirable noble-phantasm possesses the ability to both create and control the black flames. The flame was known as Amaterasu, and it was said to be "the fires from hell" that burned as hot as the sun itself. Amaterasu never stops burning; even if the object caught is reduced to ash or destroyed, it can continue to burn for seven days and seven nights.

I dragged Ishtar over to me, and when she sensed my intentions, she began to scream and cry, begging me to stop. Her face was filled with snot and tears as she argued that if I let her go, she would be loyal to me. I slowed the process, as if to give her hope, but then threw her on top of the fire.

Her voice, which had once been so energized, had changed to a horse as she wailed in pain. Her body, consumed by the flames, was disintegrating incredibly quickly. The outline of her body began to fade, leaving only bones and melted flesh behind. I removed her before she could completely disintegrate into nothing.

I took back the noble-phantasm and left her there, leaving the building dissatisfied. If anyone saw the scene, their first reaction would be to vomit, bodies on bodies stacked on top of each other filling the streets that were normally filled with debauchery into one filled with blood and gore.

As I walked to find a place to rest, I reflected on my previous actions as if experiencing a midlife crisis. I anticipated feeling satisfied after getting my retribution, but instead I'm just as depressed as before. Maybe I'll have to kill the original Ishtar to fill this emptiness in my heart. I reassured myself, feeling as confident as usual.

It is around eight now, and I can see the beautiful moon hung up in the sky. I stopped in front of a seemingly abandoned church and walked in. Sensing no signs of life, I sat down on the conspicuous couch. Leaning back, I thought of this chaotic day. First getting transported into a new world, then finding out that gods and goddesses live among humans, then murdering Ishtar. My thoughts wandered once more as I contemplated my next moves. In my consciousness, I am being transported unknowingly. When I came back into focus, I saw a green-haired man sitting on a chair, staring at a chess board.

"Enkidu!" I said in a surprised tone, not expecting to meet him again. I walked over to him and sat down in the chair opposite of him. While waiting for his response, I started the game of chess.

"Hello old friend," Enkidu said looking at the chess board and making his first move. We played in total silence after that.

'I win,' I thought to myself after finishing out the game. While setting up a new game I decided to start up a new conversation. But He spoke out before I could even start.

"It's been a while since we last spoke, Gilgamesh. However, I've been keeping an eye on you ever since you were transported. I paid close attention to how you interacted with one another and how you felt, and it both delights and pains me to see that you haven't changed. I longed for the times we used to enjoy ourselves while hunting together. I really do, Gil, but you need to move on. You must establish new friendships and connections."

I couldn't say anything before he continued. He gave me a small smile and said, "Gil, let's make the most of this because it'll be our last time seeing and talking together." We carried on talking. I talked about the trips I took after his death. He patiently listened to me for hours, occasionally giving me thoughtful looks as I described strange acts.

Enkidu abruptly informed me that his time was up and that his consciousness would soon vanish after many hours of conversation and chess games. With the game half-finished and the pieces still scattered across the board, I looked over at him, and sensing my rage, he said solemnly, "Gil, you need to listen to previous words and form some new relationships." He then approached me and, with tears in his eyes, gave me one final hug before vanishing into specks of light.

I shed a few tears as I stared where the man who had been my first and only friend disappeared. It doesn't help that losing a friend once more is still painful, even though I knew he didn't have much time left.

-----

After calming down, I exited from my mindscape to find a white-haired, ruby-eyed boy staring at me. We locked gazes as Sha Naqba Imuru rang even louder than when I met that young mongrel earlier.

"Mongrel, stop staring," I said to break the silence.
