Chapter 78 Opening the Book (2)

Standing on the door are all her future mates. Hu'er's face turned red.

Song Li was the one who opened it recklessly 'to surprise' Hu'er. He is looking at the blanket where Hu'er hid the book. He looks very confused and curious at the same time.

Song Li is holding a basket full of flowers in his right hand and in his left hand, he is holding a basket full of bamboo bottles with dyes on them.

Jui Lin is next to Song Li. He is also looking for where the book was hidden. His cheeks are blushing. He knows what that book is. He saw the book cover before Hu'er could even hide it. He never expected that they would arrive at the time when she is opening the book, that kind of book.

Jiu Lin is holding a pouch that he made for Hu'er. There is something inside it too. It's a pretty gem he found in the mine.

Because Song Li and Jiu Lin are taller than Shun Su, Xin Hua, and Ke Rin, the three didn't see the book. They just know that Hu'er hid something under her blanket. And she is looking guilty about it.

Shun Su is carrying a roll of paper. This paper will be called scroll. The thing on the scroll is a painting of Hu'er.

Shun Su secretly learned how to paint when he saw how disappointed Hu'er is when she turned three with no celebration birthdays. Shun Su wanted to perfect it that's why he could only give Hu'er a gift on her seventh birthday.

Xin Hua is holding a basket of meat. This meat came from a wild animal that can give benefits to a female's body. Xin Hua saw it during the time he was mining for diamonds. He couldn't find any diamonds either.

Also, he can only give half of the meat to Hu'er and the other half was exchanged for tons of working points. Half of the wild animal gave him three hundred working points. It is like working in the mines for fifteen days. If it's normal trading, all the meat should be turned into working points. But the Tribe let him be since the wild animal is quite old and big.

Ke Rin is holding a cream. This cream can be used to soften and make the skin fairer. Ke Rin knew how Hu'er likes to take care of herself the most, that's why he made this cream.

He hasn't given a copy of it to the Tribe. If Ke Rin gave the formula he will be given a hundred merit points and if he chose to sell the product instead he will be given at least three merit points.

"Hu'er? What's—," Song Li was about to ask Hu'er when he was interrupted by a shove.

Jiu Lin shoved Song Li away and hastily went in front of her. "Happy Birthday Hu'er." Jiu Lin gave her the gift with a red face.

Hu'er blushed. "Thank you," she muttered. She thanked him not just because of the gift but also for interrupting Song Li.

Of course, Hu'er knows that Jiu Lin saw the book based on how he acted and his blushing face. She shyly took the pouch he gave her.

Hu'er nose twitched. Her hands felt something inside the pouch. She was about to open it when Song Li, Ke Rin, and Shun Su came towards her and at the same time greeted her, "Happy Birthday!"

The three then glared at Jiu Lin. They thought that Jiu Lin was a cheater. The plan is to give the gift at the same time but Jiu Lin went ahead of them.

Xin Hua was in deep thought earlier so he could join the three. He went and put the meat a bit far from Hu'er so she wouldn't smell it. "Happy Birthday."

Hu'er eyes went toward the meat, she suddenly wanted to eat. Then, look at the flowers Song Li gave her. There is a lotus in there.

Hu'er looks at Jiu Lin and Song Li, "I want to eat." She didn't know why but her hunger spiked.

Song Li took the flowers that can be made into soup. "I'll cook."

Jiu Lin took the meat Xin Hua gave, "I'll ask Dad how to cook this."

"Thank you." Hu'er then looks at all of them, "Thank you for the gifts." She happily smiles at them.

Song Li and Jiu Lin went out to cook. Shun Su stood in front of her, "Hu'er do you want me to open the scroll?"

Hu'er nodded. Shun Su took the scroll and looked at Hu'er shyly before opening it.

Hu'er eyes went wide as soon as the scroll was opened. It is her. The painting is so vivid. The painting was her when Shun Su first met him. The day when she got welcomed by the Tribe and blessed by the Tree of life.

She looks so innocent and cute. Her eyes held curiosity towards those who looked into her.

Hu'er finally can take her eyes off the painting and look at Shun Su. "Thank you. You painted me so well. I like it very much."

Shun Su blushed. "I like Hu'er too."

Someone snorted, ruining the atmosphere. "Hu'er didn't say she likes you." It was Ke Rin who is now rolling his eyes.

Shun Su glared at Ke Rin and muttered, "You're just jealous."

"Heh." Ke Rin then took the cream. When he opened it, a light scent of lavender escaped.

The cream is on a large box that is as big as a the biggest bowl they have. There is a divider inside it too.

"This is a cream. The front one is for face, the one on the left is for body, and the one on the right is for hands and feet," Ke Rin explained.

Hu'er eyes are already shining. "Put it down."

Ke Rin put it down and looks at Shun Su proactively. Shu Su just snorted at him.

Hu'er tried the three and felt the cooling effect it has. "This is great." She grinned and said, "Thank you!"

"Anything for Hu'er," Ke Rin confidently said.
