In the weeks that followed the Dawnravens' Vengeance, as the battle came to be known, Zai kept the Expeditionary Task Force working as much as possible.
Though unintended, the Kotans had rallied behind the charge, securing a large swathe of territory as they avenged their own losses from the Night of Falling Stars. The fierceness with which they fought had overwhelmed the enemy salient, and in the south the Kotans had swept north and east toward the capital, pushing the line until long after they met up with the returning strike teams.
The loss of their Generalissimo, whose abduction was publicized quickly, and the subsequent confusion of his generals had halted the Sendan's ability to deploy its 3rd Army. The Espada Corps had been devastated, reduced to a sixth of its peak strength, and the loss of the Ascendant Espada had put a political wedge in the ambitions of the Hispians.
