The two were separated into two different worlds. He pledged to search for her no matter how long it’ll take him, no matter how many dimensions he had to travel to. What else can he do but to work hard and win her heart back? ----- “First of all, I don’t believe in reincarnation.” “I’m not saying anything about reincarnation.” “Then what?” she raised a brow. “Time traveling? Are you sure you haven’t been watching too much sci-fi?” She pursed her lips when he didn’t say anything. “Let’s see,” she flicked across the pages. She watched him nodded and shook her head in disbelief. “You’re out of your mind.” She stood up and leaned towards him to place her hand on his forehead. He flinched. “What are you doing?” “Checking to see if you had a fever,” she said with a sigh. “But you seem healthy.” “I’m not sick.” “I know.” “I’m not crazy.” Yang Yun closed his eyes when she looked at him in doubt. He had been searching for her for years. And right now, the love of his life was standing right in front of him. But she doesn’t seem to remember him. It was as if her memories of the past, the memories of him have all been forgotten. She lifted her hand, and her fingers rested on his cheek. “I like you, Yang Yun.” She drew her hand and frowned. “But I don’t understand why you keep telling me about these stories. Why are you forcing me to accept this?” She closed her eyes briefly. “Sometimes, I wonder if you really like me, or am I just a substitute to someone you knew in your past.” ----- Author's Note: The main genre of this story is Romance. Mingyue Would Not Like This (1)

Jiang Xiao Xian returned to the army camp on the outskirt of the city later in the evening. He was reading military reports on the Northern borders when the soldiers guarding outside his tent announced that Fei Liu and Yang Yun came to see him.

"General Jiang," Both Fei Liu and Yang Yun lifted their right arm to chest level and greeted in unison.

He lifted his head to look at both Fei Liu and Yang Yun in front of him. Jiang Xiao Xian looked at Fei Liu and nodded quietly. Immediately, the young man started to give him a brief report on his activities.

Fei Liu waited as he had finished his report.

"Fei Liu," The Young General called. "I need you to arrange a few trustworthy hidden guards around Princess Lingchen and tighten the security. The spring banquet is approaching soon. If anyone wanted to hurt Her Highness, they would act before the banquet started."

Fei Liu raised his right arm to his chest level again. "Yes, General Jiang." After a while, he excused himself and continued his task.

Jiang Xiao Xian had kept the matter about the Princess' illness a secret from Fei Liu. The fewer people know about Her Highness' illness, the better. Xiao Xian turned to Yang Yun and stared at him for a while. He hoped that the young man would squirm under his gaze, but Yang Yun never seemed to yield under his stare.

"I'm sure you have heard about news about the last herbs Mingyue is looking for," Jiang Xiao Xian spoke after a long silence between them.

"Yes."

The young general heaved a deep breath. "From now on, whenever Mingyue wanted to go out to look for the herbs, you need to be with her. If you encounter this herb, you need to report it back to me before Mingyue took any action. This will be your mission before the spring banquet begin."

"Yes, General." Yang Yun obeyed the General's command without any question.

Yang Yun knew why the General wanted him to be around Mingyue when she looked for the herb. They were all worried that the old man's word would come true and Mingyue would disappear.

He gets to spend his time with his fiance, what else could he hope for. He will do his best to protect the girl and avoid any calamity from happening to her.

But sending him over to Mingyue's side for personal purposes, this does not seem right.

"You don't have to worry," Jiang Xiao Xian could understand Yang Yun's worry right now. "I have talked to His Majesty, and he agreed with my arrangement to assign you. After all, no one knows the Princess' condition better than Mingyue. If something happened to Mingyue, then, Princess Lingchen will be worried too."

Yang Yun let out a breath. "Yes, General."

After a while, Yang Yun left the General's tent and headed towards the training room.

It wasn't long before his two brothers, Xiao Tian and Xiao Liang showed up.
