'Borrow'

But even though he had been quite angry for a few moments, Chang Ying then calmed down and returned to his normal, serene self.

At this moment, though, Chang Ying couldn't help but faintly frown before letting out a sigh.

"I see, that's how it is, I should have expected as much," mumbled Chang Yin as he waved his hand.

In a mere instant, both Chang Ying and Meng Ling now stood above an enormous Go board, causing Meng Ling's face to finally transform into a smile after all this time she had spent thinking.

Even though its individual pieces looked exactly the same as a normal Go board, this board had a tiny difference compared to normal boards, it's size.

If a mortal were to want to traverse through the entire Go board on his own, without sleeping or stopping, they would have to spend a thousand lifetimes traveling, as this board was beyond immense.

An infinite number of stones, continuing into infinity, this is what greeted Meng Ling as soon as she gazed at the board.

But as she looked at the stones, Meng Ling could feel a faint yet overwhelming power emanating from them.

It was as if these tiny, insignificant Go pieces were the rulers of Heaven and Earth, and in some regards, they were.

...

A few years later,

Rather unexpectedly for Chang Ying, Meng Ling was not as slow in making moves on this board as she was on the last one.

Back then, Meng Lin could spend months for a single move, but right now, she continued placing multiple stones on the board every single day.

But as he stared at this, Chang Ying became more and more surprised, as a somewhat satisfied smile appeared on his face.

As he watched Meng Ling make tiny adjustments to the board, adding and removing pieces at will, Chang Ying couldn't help but nod in approval.

"It seems as though young Lady Meng's skills in the art of formation dwarf her Go skills," said Chang Ying as he examined the changes.

Even though Chang Ying was both more skilled and experienced in the art of formation than Meng Ling, the latter definitely had a unique view, allowing her to make changed that Chang Ying couldn't have possibly noticed or made.

But as he stared at this scene, Chang Ying's couldn't help but fall into thought.

'It's not worth the risk to try to make her teach me her insights,' thought Chang Ying s he noticed a tiny abnormality in Meng Ling's movements, causing him to suddenly realize something was happening.

As he remembered the way Meng Ling had managed to infiltrate his abode without alerting him in the slightest, Chang Ying knew that the latter also had some sort of trump card that could allow her to escape from his grasp.

At this very moment, though, Chang Ying suddenly realized something, causing him to understand that trying to capture Meng Ling would be truly meaningless.

"How could a puppet hide from my gaze?!" mumbled Chang Ying as a confused expression appeared on his face.

Based on what Chang Ying knew, this Meng Lin did not have any puppet master skills, causing him to not take the possibility that this was a puppet into account.

Hearing the words of the old man, who had now fully stopped thinking about capturing her, Meng Ling couldn't help but smile.

"Senior Chang, this is not a puppet, rather, it's a formation," said Meng Ling, causing Chang Ying to suddenly understand what had just happened.

A few moments later, Chang Ying fell into thought once again, as realization dawned on him.

...

Several years later,

As she exited the territory of the Mountain Path, as well as the home ground of that Chang Ying, Meng Ling let out a deep breath.

In fact, the entirety of the mountain region could be considered the territory of that old man, but outside the Mountain Path, Meng Ling wouldn't need to go all out to escape the clutches of the old man.

Even though with the preparations she had made, Meng Ling could escape from even someone as powerful as Chang Ying, doing so in his own territory, where the latter had placed down countless formations and was at his most powerful, was a pretty bad idea.

'It looks as though that old man really wants to defend the mountain region,' thought Meng Lin as she remembered how easily the old man had let her access the most powerful formation in the entire region.

Perhaps it was the fact that Chang Ying knew that no self-respecting Formation Master could bear to destroy that formation, with how perfect it was.

But after this meeting, Meng Lin could finally breathe a silent sigh of relief, knowing that there wasn't an enemy immortal formation surrounding her every single moment.

As one might expect, that enormous Go board was in fact an Immortal Formation, created by Chang Ying, who in fact, was a Quasi Rank 10 Formation Master.

Even though the Go board was immeasurably huge, it was merely the representation of the True Formation created by Chang Yin, one which covered the entirety of the Mountain Region, and drew its power from it.

Now, though, after taking this rather large risk and exposing herself, Meng Ling was able to ensure that she wouldn't be on the receiving end of this formation.

A moment later, the Formation-Puppet she had created suddenly appeared in the hands of Meng Ling, causing her to suddenly vanish from the scene and instantly appear back in the Myriad Formation's Valley.

...

"Really quite clever," mumbled Chang Ying as he stared at the Formation-Puppet in front of him.

Although he could appreciate Meng Ling's talent, Chang Ying couldn't bear to let the other party walk over him so much, as such, as an entry ticket for coming here, Chang Yin borrowed the Formation-Puppet of the other party.

Of course, he would give the item he had borrowed back, after he was done researching it.
