CHAPTER EIGHT

Alex drove us to a good boutique in town and he bought nice dresses for me to wear to the orphanage and to go out, he also bought some less revealing clothes to wear at home. I was so happy with my new set of clothes and didn't have to worry about gaby's clothes in the suitcase at home.

Alex was so happy that she liked the dresses he bought for her. He could tell she wasn't comfortable with the clothes she wore at home and he was aware of gaby's trick. He drove them back to the house and waited patiently for her to go and dress so he could drop her off at the orphanage.

i looked for a dress that would compliment my eyes, i found a yellow dress, flare that had a yellow belt at the waist, it was flowered blue patterned dress and that was why i picked it. i took a pair of sandals to wear from the open space under the wardrobe. i looked at my self one last time at the mirror and walked out of my room. i planned only to visit the orphanage today. she had no need to go to her house because she had already informed them about her whereabouts, and she had seen gaby earlier that day.

He heard her heartbeat and looked to the direction of the staircase where he saw her walking down the stairs so elegantly like it was meant for her. He felt his demon grumble the moment her eyes met his, she was stunning and those eyes no matter how pale would be electrifying his soul thats if he had one.

He dropped her of at the orphanage, At returned to the house. He wasn't one to enjoy driving, in fact driving was second in place to things he hated, he hated witches more. He got home and suddenly thought of eating, he was demon not just any demon the first and only one of its kind so demons didn't really need food, well only ancient demons and he was one. Ancient demons only ate once in like ages, the only thing they did was drink but that was only on special occasions. He asked mary to serve him some food and then went to the dining to wait.

She served him in no time. Mary was so efficient.

He looked at the food for a while before he took his fork and was about to eat when zain interrupted.

" I think you've forgotten you have a country to rule"

" And i think u have also forgotten i told you to handle things"

" You know they won't listen to me... those Fire demons can be a nuisance sometimes, i only managed to talk to the land demons to have patience and not react in away to avoid war but with the way things are going they can't keep being patient for long"

" So all your strategies failed??" Alex asked zain clearly to annoy him with his head tilted to one side.

" Just come already... i am not ready to rake up dead bodies of demons or humans "

Alex had a smirk on his face before teleporting to devin leaving zain standing in the dining alone. Zain also teleported himself to devin after a few minutes.

IN DEVIN...

Alex went straight to Anglo, he was tall, bearded and also of good body stature. He wasn't the oldest fire demon or the highest in rank he was just one of those demons who commanded respect with their aura's. Anglo loved parties and women but also had a good sense of reasoning and he knew how to get people to listen to him. That was why alex went to him. He had sensed him in his house and not a brothel so he went there to meet him instead.

Anglo was on his couch on his sitting room doing absolutely nothing. He didn't sense Alex's presence.

" Why haven't you done anything"Alex said with his cold tone surprising Anglo who was good at hiding his shock.

" Maybe thats because i haven't received orders yet my lord."

"So you are were going to sit and watch those demons to destroy themselves because i didn't give orders." He said

"Yes my lord, i act only on orders" Anglo said. He was one of Alex's team of demons he was not going to destroy because of his loyalty.

" Go talk to them and fast, the land demons are running out of patience. The last thing i want is war."

"yes, my lord" Anglo replied and vanished. Alex wanted every possible way he could avoid killing, he enjoyed it but it had to have a limit, that was the last time he was letting those demons go with just a warning, next time he would make them pay plus he didn't enjoy spending time in devin.

Alex teleported himself to the castle, he was king so he lived in a castle. He went to the throne room and looked at the throne that was heavily embroidered with gold and silver stones. He remembered what he did to get that throne for himself. He sighed at his thoughts and left the room to his.

He sat on his king sized bed and his thoughts drifted away to anne. suddenly there was a knock on the door.

" Your majesty, you have visitors"

" I don't want to see anyone. Zain should handle them".

"Yes your majesty"

i am not here to talk to anyone i came to resolve an issue, once thats done i'll leave..

Alex left devin about an hour later, he returned to his house expecting to find anne but he didn't, he realized she was still at the orphanage. He looked at the clock, she said she would finish by two and be Back home by three, it was just four minutes past 1. He decided to while away time and went to her room.

he opened the door and waked inside. Her scent still lingered around the room, he went further to the windows and looked outside as if looking for something. He noticed the notebook on the dressing table and cursed as he opened it, his mind told him not to do it but his body went against him as always. When ever anne was involved in any situation he never had control over his own body.

He looked through the bucket list and had the urge to fulfill them all. he did do that as soon as he saw her again. He dropped the book and went to his room to get his keys, he looked at his watch and it said 1:24, he went downstairs and entered his car, he zoomed off without looking back.

Alex had packed in front of the orphanage home he got there at around,

1:35 and hoped that the time would run by fast. He wanted to call her but then refrained from it but just for a while because at the next minute he dialled her number and she picked at the second ring.

"Hey" he said

" Are you ok" she asked

"Yeah, you??"

"Am good, i'll be back soon"

"i'll be outside waiting"

"ok"

"bye" And the call got disconnected.

Anne didn't understand what he meant by 'I'll be outside waiting' but she didn't really think much about it. she talked with the kids some more and was happy that two kids were adopted that very day. She looked at the time and realized it was almost two so she started packing up. she held her bag on her left hand and had her phone on her right hand, she walked out of the gate waiting for her ride when she heard honking sounds, she looked from where it cane from and realized it was alex. she didn't expect him to be there, oh so that was what he meant by i'll be outside waiting. she walked towards the car and entered it.

"I didn't expect you to be here."

" How was your day" Alex asked totally ignoring what she had said.

" it was good, yours??"

" OK.... lets go out"

" where"

"that's a surprise"

" alright".

" we can go home and pick something more comfortable to wear"

Anne nodded and alex kept focusing on the. road. There was awkward silence in the car till they got home.

They got to the house and he waited for anne to change. While he waited he thought of her expression when he showed her her surprise.
