Chapter 12

Gu Yao's face suddenly froze up but it returned back to normal in an instant .

" Nothing much , I was kept up late at night ".Mei Wen didn't believe him all, she could feel that he was lying to her .

" Is my wife feeling sad for me" . Gu Yao walked towards Mei Wen to close up the gap between them , he bent over and whispered hoarsely into her ear, coupled with his deep magnetic voice.

" Maybe if you come up and warm up the bed I'll be able to get a little bit of sleep before work "

Mei Wen instantly shuddered when he spoke in her ear , she felt like she was melting and her heart was about to explode at any minute.

"Who ...who said I care about you , I was just worried about who will help me exact my revenge if something happened to you ".

She spoke flustered , why didn't she notice that this man called Gu Yao was a seductive machine , sent to destroy her dignity.

Gu Yao's face broke into a playful smile, and he teasingly replied,

"Oh, so my wife has revenge on her mind? How intriguing."

Mei Wen blushed at his response but tried to maintain a composed demeanor.

"Don't flatter yourself. I just don't want any trouble if you collapse from exhaustion,"she retorted, avoiding eye contact.Gu Yao chuckled, with his eyes gazing at her with love.

"You're truly a caring wife. But, if you insist on revenge, I'm more than willing to be your partner in crime."

Mei Wen couldn't help but laugh at his charm. Despite her initial resistance, she found herself enjoying their banter.

" Mr Gu, Miss Zhuang Xian is gone already ,we should be going soon ,you still have a meeting..."

The room that was filled with the warmth of love suddenly decreased to an icy hell pit and Zhang Yi could not help but swallow back the next words he was about to say .

He suddenly felt that he had interrupted a very significant deal and he could not help but gulp in fear ,the back of his shirt was already wet and he was on the verge of tears.

Mei Wen silently laughed at the way Zhang Yi was so scared of Gu Yao, she really didn't see why there were so scared of him ,he looked like a good person to her though.

"Zhang Yi" , Gu Yao called with a smile that didn't happen to reach his eyes that were blazing with fury.

" Don't you know how to knock before entering huh,"

Zhang Yi"..."

This is the living room that has no door , it an open space , how was he supposed to knock!

'Sigh, it's my luck in this life to be stuck with such a boss, boo hoo ~"

Later in the afternoon...

Mei Wen was still exploring the whole house to familiarise herself with the place , she didn't want anyone following her for fear of akwardness, and Gu Yao left for work earlier on so she took the chance to stroll about the place.

She finally reached the third floor - Gu Yao's place- and she strolled about the floor ,she saw his study that was filled with boring books and documents and his gym that looked like it had never been used .

' ha , who was he trying to impress,if he used the gym his physique would be at least a little bit muscular.'

She thought to herself as sneered before walking to the other parts of the rooms that were here .

She then reached the last room ,the master bedroom and she opened it ,still imaging how the room would look like. She furrowed her brows in disappointment .

The whole room was so ... different than what she envisioned

Mei Wen's anticipation turned into mild disappointment as she stepped into Gu Yao's room. Contrary to her expectations of a monochrome, cold, and domineering space, she found a room filled with unexpected bursts of color.

"Is this really Gu Yao's room?" she wondered, her eyes scanning the room's vibrant hues. The bedspread boasted lively patterns, and the walls were adorned with artwork that screamed warmth and creativity. The playful clash of colors was a stark contrast to what she had envisioned.The atmosphere seemed less formal and more inviting, challenging Mei Wen's preconceived notions of Gu Yao's personality.

The room appeared to be a paradox, a mix of authority and liveliness that left her feeling slightly perplexed.As she explored further, she noticed touches of personalization – perhaps an attempt to soften the edges of the cold and domineering image. Mei Wen couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment, expecting a room that mirrored the imposing figure Gu Yao presented.

She then laughed to herself "this place is not so bad ,on the account that it's too my liking I'll stay here ".

She thought as she shamelessly

praised herself for her selfless act ,not wanting to admit that she would still have to stay her because she was his wife ,regardless of the setting of the room.She walked in to the closest and her eyes widened in shock as she stared at the clothes ,she was checking the clothes that had been arranged for her and was even more shocked to see that it was her size .'...damn this guy really came prepared ',but her heart felt mushy because she could feel the sincerity in all his actions.

Did ...he also change the room for her sake ?!Her heart started pounding ,she had always asked Yi Chen to change his room up a little bit but he never answered her or listened to her own opinion.

She suddenly made up her heart ,as she was never serious with this marriage , she then swore to be the perfect wife that Gu Yao could ever have . A determined light flashing past her eyes .

She decided that she would study those things that noble women did to avoid embarrassing him .

In the Zhuang 'Er Entertainment...

Zhuang Yan stared at the report in his hands ,

"Married!!,how can he marry at such a time , i was about to go and pursue him again to reconsider the marriage contract with you and him ...how did he suddenly he suddenly become married "

" That's what that Zhang Yi said ,but dad don't you think it's strange , with his type of personality ,he definitely won't hide that he's married ,unless..."

Zhuang Xian eyes glowed evily as a thought ran through her head ." That b*tch must have pressured Gu Yao to marry her , maybe she has something on him, dad what do you think"

Zhuang Yan fell in deep thought , it was very unlikely of Gu Yao to do something like this without informing everyone,his family might not even know about it yet....

Bang! It suddenly occurred to him as he suddenly thought of a plan ,he looked up at his daughter with heartache ,he really wanted her to be Mrs Gu but someone snatched it away first,and it was an unknown person.

"Xian 'er it's been hard on you ,wait a while , daddy is going to help you solve the problem ".

Zhuang Xian eyes suddenly beamed with joy as she went to hug her dad.

" You've always been the best person to me ,but... Will mum find out ?"

She said in fear as her mum had told her to stop messing around ,even though she didn't take it seriously ,she knew her mum better than anyone else , she was a hardcore disciplinarian.

" Hmph what can she do , just don't let her hear about it"
