The world’s End: Survive!

Noah approaches the cautious deer, its eyes fixed on him as it sniffs the faint scent of Yuri on his clothes. Recognizing the scent, the deer steps aside, allowing Noah to pass. "Thank you," Noah whispers, nodding at the deer. He reaches Yuri, holding shredded meat in his hand, and gently offers it to her. She begins to eat slowly, savoring each bite. After consuming a substantial portion, Noah hands her a canteen of water, and she drinks gratefully.

Several hours later, strength returns to Yuri's arms and legs. She stands up, noticing Noah by the fire. Happiness floods her as she realizes she can feel and see clearly again. Rushing over, she hugs him tightly, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Thank goodness you're still safe."

Noah hugs her back, seeming older and more mature despite the short time that has passed. "It's been a while, hasn't it?" he says.

Yuri sits down next to him and replies, "It has, hasn't it?" She studies him for a moment before adding, "You've changed so much in so little time."

Noah chuckles. "I guess I have changed a little bit, but I'm still mostly myself. I've been enjoying hunting and surviving. I do think I'm a little talented at hunting. How has it been for you?"

Yuri stays silent, contemplating where to begin. After a while, she starts, "For me, it's been hard. I would've died if it hadn't been for this deer waking me up and helping me warm up. After that, I had to rebuild a shelter with little to no food. I tried my best to search for anything to survive, but I kept failing. I couldn't find anything. I felt like a fool."

Noah pats her back, comforting her. "You're a genius strategist. There's no need to hunt when you're so smart. You have the brains, and I have the brawn. We make up for each other."

He throws more wood onto the fire. It's already midnight, but neither of them feels sleepy. They share stories about their lives before the apocalypse. Yuri talks about running her own successful business, while Noah reminisces about being a student. They laugh and giggle, enjoying each other's company like they haven't in a long time, finding solace and strength in their companionship amidst the desolate world.
