Chapter 3: Light and Shadow

Long ago there were two best friends and they are both Star Guardians.

Kiana, the Star Guardian of the Scorpio Constellation and Chloris, the Star Guardian of the Taurus Constellation. They were the best team ever at that time. But one day, a horrible thing happened. 

Kiana has turned her back to Chloris, she pushed her best friend into the void of the galaxy. She left her with confusion and a broken heart. Fortunately, Chloris's fate didn't end yet. She had risen from the void after receiving her new transformation, a level up from the stars.

Kiana is now with the negative force.

Chloris didn't understand why her best friend betrayed her and the world …

However, there was a thing that Chloris heard from Kiana before she walked away, "Let me cease your endless misery".

Chloris never gives up her hope and faith.

All this time, she never stops searching for Kiana to bring her back to the right path. 

"It was all my fault" - Chloris will only stop blaming everything on herself when Kiana comes back to the light.

Anywhere that Kiana comes through, that place will become a mess. The negative being is strangely stronger than usual. And the death record will increase horribly. That is the only clue or hint that Chloris can find and trace to Kiana.

(A memory)

The afternoon next to the seashore. 

A rainstorm is crashing through this region. Many people get swallowed by the thrashing waves. Plenty of boats get destroyed. People are yelling unknown names hopelessly to the darkened sky. Somewhere in the ocean, there's a charybdis. Inside of it is a powerful negative entity. 

"Information:

Name: Levyatan

Rank: Knight

Gender: Neutral

Ability: Weather Manipulation

An ancient creature from the deep trench accidentally ate a lantern fish that contains the seed of negativity. With a gigantic body size, the negative entity quickly created chaos upon fishermen and goods boats. After a period of absorbing large amounts of negative energy, it quickly evolved to a Knight rank negative creature."

"Interesting". Kiana was watching the whole chaotic scene from a hill. 

"Here. Bring the candy of corruption". Kiana commanded the doll which was her spirit guide. "Feed the evil core!".

"Yes master". The doll wasn't shining bright with its starlight like other spirit guides anymore.

It is covered with mauveine color, its eyes are purplish, and its clothes are dark as blackhole. 

The doll just flies up high and throws those sweet orbs into the vortex. 1 minutes later, the negative entity growls in fury. It starts to attack and destroy everything in its sight to detritus. 

"Good job Amelia". Kiana rubbed the doll's head. "This works so much faster".

On the other side, plenty of Star Guardians have already been alerted by the arrival of a massive field of bulky negative energy. They are trying their best to get to that negative zone as quickly as possible. 

"Why didn't the time stop?!". Chloris asked her doll.

"Knight rank entities or above are strong enough to break through the spiritual veil". The doll answered seriously. "Which means one Star Guardian cannot take down the target by herself".

"It is way too dangerous, I'll communicate with other spirit guides!". The doll's eyes lightened up. The spirit guide of the Taurus Constellation was dialing others.

"Yo what's up?!". An energetic voice spoke through the eyes of Chloris's spirit guides. 

"Hello, thank you for calling Mrs. Champion!". Another feminine charismatic voice spoke. "What can I do for you?".

"I'm Chloris, the Star Guardian of the Taurus Constellation". Chloris introduced herself.

"We need help". Chloris's spirit guide skipped her words. "Let me send you the basic information and the address of the target".

Ping! A starry electric noise peals.

"Oh damn, that's our target too!". The feminine voice stated. "Right now, we are heading to that chaotic zone!".

"Forgot to introduce ourselves". The energetic voice spoke. "I am her spirit guide and she is the Star Guardian of the Leo Constellation".

"My name is Zariel! The fearless warrior" - The female voice said confidently.

"Okay, may I transform now, Lily?". Chloris looked at her spirit guide. Yes, every spirit guide has a name. But if you don't ask, then they would never tell you by themselves. 

"Do it now before the death record reaches 5000 within a day in the same city!". Lily presented the universal chart to Chloris.

"Meet you there!". Zariel said goodbye and then her spirit guide ended the spiritual chat.

"Blessings of Taurus! Makeup!" 

Viridescent soft light flows around her body. Winds of leaves blow through her arms and legs. Greenery vines and luxuriant blooms grow through her hair. 

Chloris wears a verdant kimono, her brooch is made of jade, her boots are covered with Ivy. There are 2 horns growing from her head. And she wears an emerald necklace. 

"Done!". Chloris spinned a circle. "Let's go".

Chloris bursts up to the sky and drifts through clouds with her spirit guide. They are heading to their destination, the negative zone. They don't know yet what they will have to deal with. Nonetheless, they still don't care, because if they don't do it, then no one will. They are the protectors of the earth, the cherished wishes of the Duna.

Zariel and her spirit guide have arrived.

"That thing is huge!". Zariel uttered. "I'm not sure that we can kill it without being dead first".

"We should wait for Chloris". Zariel's spirit guide suggested an idea. "While that, we should try our best to help those poor people".

"A Star Guardian is here". Kiana's doll warned. "Not Chloris".

"Well then, this time I'll make sure to kill her!". Kiana blinked her eyes. Just a few seconds ago, her eyes were normal, now it has become bright lavender. "I mean, to finish her endless misery".

"Power of negativity and darkness! Corrupt!"

"AH". A sudden bright shine has blinded Zariel a little bit. "What is that?!".

"I'm sensing a Star Guardian and the special type rank negative entity at the same time". Zariel's spirit guide pointed its finger at the hill below. "Over there!".

"Psychic Bomb". Amelia, the spirit guide of Kiana, blasted out an attack toward Zariel.

"Light Veil". Zariel's spirit guide built up a magic wall out of thin air to protect her. "We're ambushed".

"Move! Now!". Zariel's spirit guide was trying to defend the upcoming attack.

"Lucian, the spiritual soldier of the Sun huh?". Amelia finally stopped her chain of attacks.

"Amelia?!". The smoke faded away, it allowed Zariel's spirit guide to see clearer. "You're corrupted?!?".

"I'm not and I never will". Amelia replied passionately. "I just decided to pick a different path!".

"Psychic Wave". Amelia came back to attacking Zariel. This time, she has shattered the light barrier of Lucian, Zariel's spirit guide.

"No!". Zariel saw Amelia blast her spirit guide away into the furious ocean.

"Amelia, make sure that thing is dead". Kiana gave her spirit guide an order, then she bolted up to the above, blocking Zariel's way to save Lucian.

"Your opponent is me!". Kiana wielded her blade.

Zariel backed off a distance: "You're a Star Guardian, why did you want to make innocent people suffer in pain?!".

"Whirling Whips". With her flexible weapon, Kiana slashed out waves of dark forces.

"Answer me!". Zariel dodged a few times and returned an attack. "Sacred Fire!". She threw out various magic fireballs.

"Evil Thrust". Kiana moved with an extreme speed, within 3 seconds, she was already next to Zariel. "Hello there".

At this moment, she knows she fucked up.
