I sit at my desk as I silently wipe away the tears from my eyes. I kept my head down as I didn't want anyone to notice though most of them were busy on their computers.
Even though its been a few days since Doyle had left, I still felt sad and lonely. After all, we had spent a lot of time together ever since we started dating.
I found the space beside me to be much too cold. Who knew distance would be much more painful than a break up?
All of a sudden I heard a round of applause from my surrounding as I quickly chimed in, swiping away quickly at the loose strand of tears as I put on a brave smile despite the fact that my heart felt disheartened to do anything.
"We will be welcoming a new member to our team. Everyone, please treat him well!" the boss said as he presented a man within his mid-20s.
