As I took my last drag on the cigarette before snuffing it, I glanced at the window pane of the people in the hallway. There was practically no one as it was late in the evening, you could even say it was early dawn.
However, there was a nagging feeling within me telling me to go back and walk through the hallways. It felt dumb listening to my instinct when I could clearly see no movement in the hallways.
I shook my head in defeat, heading towards the door to enter the building when I heard footsteps coming from a blind corner.
My heart raced and I could feel a scorching sensation on my skin. It usually only felt like this if Len were close by.
"L-Len?" I called out, expecting no response.
"D-Doyle?" I heard Len's voice as I quickly hurried to the corner.
I hadn't seen him since this afternoon. Why was he coming from this direction? And this floor... ...
"Doyle? It's Doyle..." Len said with excitement as heran towards me and held my cheeks in his hands. They were trembling.
