Summer’s Secret

Lilith made it back to the village, she was greeted by a punch in the stomach by her brother. She didn't try to block as she assumed that he was fuming at her for turning into a monster, she is surprised that she didn't turn into her wolf side, maybe it could overpower the sudden power that surged through her.

"Where the hell have you've been?" Drew demanded.

"Just...on a walk," spoke Lilith. "That's all."

Her voice felt cold but she never could understand why she always spoke like an emotionless shell. Drew sighed deeply as he looked at an old man, Lilith looked over Drew's shoulders and noticed an old man and a man that had to be in his thirties. They both approached Lilith and Drew, the old man bowed but the young man didn't seem to be happy to bow.

The old man features surprised Lilith, his body seemed extremely muscular and healthy despite his age. His ragged clothing hung on him, there was nothing that showed that he was an old man beside his white hair and wrinkles.

"Who are you?" Lilith broke the silence, she didn't understand what these two men were doing in front of them.

"Hector, kneel to our savior!" barked the old man, his voice was cranky and stern. Lilith couldn't sense any kind in this man.

"Pop, she didn't save anything," said the young man named Hector. "She probably burned our village and took all of my books that I've written on magic."

"I'm...sorry?" Lilith seemed perplexed at her accuser. Did he just assume that she burned his home because she tried to save his people?

"You heard me!" shouted Hector.

"Dear Hector, how dare you to speak to my friend like that!" roared a female voice. Summer emerged out of a pile of wood that she was carrying. Lilith saw a monster...no a werewolf just like herself. She could see the bright amber eyes, a much darker gray coat and her muscle looked a lot thinner than her. Lilith leaned in towards Drew and whispered something into Drew's ears.

"Is that Summer?"

"Yeah, she's apparently a werewolf," Drew replied, he was just as surprised as his sister.

Hector seemed to freeze in his place as he heard Summer's voice, whatever he feared, it was probably Summer. Lilith walked past the two men as she hugged Summer, she felt Summer's body slowly changing back. Her muscles became thin and her body changed into Lilith's height.

"How are you, reckless demon?" Summer joked, she hugged Lilith and whispered something in her ears.

Lilith's eyes widen as she pulled away and looked at Summer with shock. How did she know?

"Don't worry, I'm one too," Summer said, she hugged Lilith before walking passed her. She greeted her cousin as she left Lilith standing, frozen like ice.

"Don't just stand there," spoke the old man, he walked up to Lilith as he placed a hand on Lilith's shoulder. "I know that Summer told you something that you didn't expect but she is not like the one inside of you."

Lilith flexed her shoulders as she ignored Summer's secret. She didn't expect anything, much less Summer, to talk to her about something deep like that. Lilith looked at Summer, she acted as if nothing happened between the two of them. It sent shivers down Lilith's spine as she walked away from the group of people, she didn't feel like staying around a person who can easily kill her.

She knows that a bad move and may even ruin her reputation but she didn't care, she only needs to see what people will do.

"Summer's secret huh," spoke Luna, Lilith shot her eyes up as she saw Luna's pale skin and white dress sitting on top of a burned stone wall. Her smile gave Lilith a small bit of relief or something to keep her calm.

"How long have you been here?"

"Since you came back here," spoke Luna.

"Only a mortal that possesses the wolf inside of them can see me," Luna explained as she saw Lilith's confused face.

Lilith nodded in understanding what Luna meant, she started climbing the stone wall to sit next to Luna. She didn't know why but she felt calm and soothed when she first met Luna. Has she always been watching her? Lilith made a small smile to Luna as she stared at the half quarter moon, she started thinking about Summer and her secret that she told Lilith. She could help but feel herself shiver at the thought.

"Summer Valac, you will be a mystery to me," Luna quietly spoke, avoiding Lilith's ears. She has been alive long enough to know almost every human on this continent, only thing is, she wasn't about to understand one person that will soon end up into three.
