Chapter 20

As Alex busied himself with the reading and signing of documents, one wouldn't deny that he was a male god. With the way that he was always prim and proper, not forgetting how tall he was. Alex was it man for most women who were not ashamed to gawk on openly. The male specimen who stood at the pinnacle of success. The envy of most men and the dream of most females.

Many wondered why he was single despite the many women who openly proclaimed their interests in him. He never appeared anywhere in the company of females and avoided all compromising situations. This was true because he never let himself appear with any woman in all his public pictures, whether at parties or interviews.

The tabloids tried to find anything compromising, but he always came out clean. Even speculations of interest in the opposite sex always met a dead end because Alex was clean. Only those that were close to him knew of who he was.

The riches aside, Alex was so powerful that all werewolves were scared to offend him. Yes, there will always be those that challenge him in the shadows, but they are afraid to show their faces. He was indeed a man in his league. So many have tried to get their names written next to his, but it was a foreign thought if you are not a business partner.

After finishing the last file, Alex received a text. Noticing the sender, he decided to read it. It was a message from his Beta, who was in a fix. Smiling at the text, he replied with an ok. He was happy because Daniel decided to show respect to Malia despite him not declaring her status openly.

The innocent girl was turning tides unknowingly. She was his; the mere thought brought comfort to Alex. Picking his cup of coffee, he headed to the floor-to-ceiling glass wall that overlooked the city. Looking at the beauty of the town from where he stood, he had a sharp light in his eyes as he looked in the direction of a particular building. It was a tall one, too but not as long as the one he was in.

He had earned every bit of glory that he was currently enjoying. He worked his ass off to make the wolves a place in the city and taught them to work hard so no one would think that they stood a chance to go against him. He remembers when the hunters had destroyed their home and killed so many of them, he was so scared but never got the chance to mourn like everyone else. Alex used the deep-rooted wound in his heart to work ten times harder than the average human, and today, his hard work was evident. With such power came many things, and he was glad to amass it.

As he worked every day, he swore by the bloodshed ten years ago that the hunters shall pay with the same blood. It was never going to be his own that bled but theirs. He felt terrible for the two that passed away some days ago. He felt angry each time he thought of it. With all the amenities he put in place to protect his family, how was he to know that their very own was the one to break the peaceful grounds that they had laid ten years later.

He wasn't in any way remorseful about the death of Denis because he deserved every bit of it. Instead, he made sure that he left no tombstone or any ash for memories. Denis was a forgotten one, and that was what he intended to do to each of those hunters.

The only exception would be Chris because they had earned a certain percentage of place in Alex's heart. It wasn't a weakness but him being grateful because Chris never gave out the trade secrets despite being a Beckett. Almost everything about the business was open to him, but he never crossed the line. So with that, he was grateful.

After the investigation that his secret intelligence carried out, ut was discovered that Christoper Boaz was indeed Christopher Beckett. The son to his ark enemy. The enemy is the wolves. The mere thought of the name of the leader of hunters, Alex felt so angered.

Sipping his coffee, he realized that it had turned cold. 'What a waste of good coffee!' While he was lost in thoughts, he forgot about Daniel's reminder about Genius Engineers Ltd. Yes, he had acquired the firm not because he wanted it but because he wanted the two Engineers who never wanted to leave the firm despite all the offers he made. Now that he thought of it, he realized that it was the trick of the Hunters to have him acquire the firm.

Looking through the document again, there was indeed a clause that he seemed to have overlooked because he trusted the lawyer. Well, another man falls by his hand. He needed to find something to do with the firm, but he wouldn't bring it close to his companies. Lucky for him, the enemy's arrow missed greatly.

Checking the time, it was already 11:00 pm. He picked up his phone and called his assistant Arnold. To instruct him about the lawyer.

Arnold was already in bed when he heard his phone ring. He had just returned from abroad and was jet-lagged. As he traced for his phone sleepily, he cursed the person calling, saying that it better be a call from the caretaker warning about the apartment being on fire.

Arnold answered the call with a wild mind without even checking who was calling. "Who is this?" He asked sleepily

"Salary cut notification,"
