"I'm here to see the elf baby. When I'm done, I'll leave immediately." The saintess was talking to the nun passing by. "The bishop will receive you in the meeting room. Please, follow me." "I won't repeat myself. I am here just for the baby. Where is it?" The nun opened her mouth to say something, but the saint gestured for her to remain silent.
Sapphira closed her eyes. She inhaled and immediately after the world froze. (I won't waste any more time here. Now, where is the 'special case'?) Besides her, everything stopped moving. In a flash, she already had entered every room that was accessible from inside the temple.
(Could it be that the thing isn't here?) She thought about leaving the temple, but a faint mana fluctuation cached her attention. It was from a hidden door that she didn't see until now. (Bingo.) She jumped from the second floor and landed right at the door.
She tried to open the door by normal means, but obviously, it did not open. She used some unlocking spells, brute force, and basic mana seals. No response. (Why is this so heavily locked?) She used a more complicated spell that use raw mana, to unlock the door. *CLACK* (One more problem solved with cheap tricks.)
She pushed the door open. The room had a putrid smell. She sniffed one time, coughed, and took a deep breath afterward. (Nothing like the smell of death and misery. Ah... I live it.) After rejoicing for a moment, she finally took a look around. A headless body with a dry blood pool below, the head from the body, and a table.
Above the table, was a strange rock full of cracks. (That must be it.) It was faint, but she could sense a dense mana concentration coming from the rock. She walks over the body and stops on one of the sides of the table. She leaned forward and after studying it carefully, she concluded that the rock was really the baby.
(I've never seen such a dark and hard soul stone before.) She poked the baby with her index finger a couple of times. (It is hard... After three years with no challenges, finally something interesting.)
She closed her eyes while smiling. The world was static and the just the saintess moving, but now even her froze in place. For just a moment, everything around her trembled violently. However, it occurred in less than a second, a normal person wouldn't even notice it. "Phew... I need to train more."
