The Diamond In The Rough✔

||Book 1 of the Diamond Series|| The world had fallen into chaos a long time ago. Creatures came and enslaved the human race: Vampires, Lycans/Werewolves and Demons. They took and slaughtered thousands of innocent people. Men, Women and Children. After suffering for ten years, another set of beings came. They had enormous wings and a shining silver rings floating above their heads. Rings that could be used as a weapon if necessary. These creatures were called 'Angels'. They were kind and honestly the opposite of every supernatural creature that existed in that era. They built their kingdom protecting as many humans as they could but the dark creatures had other things planed. There was a war that broke out. Every man for themselves or more specifically, every creature for themselves. The war went on for almost 500 years. Then there was a woman. She wasn't an Angel or Vampire or Lycan or Demon. Turns out she was a hybrid of all four. More powerful than anything. No one knows for sure how this hybrid was made and at some point, no one cared. Her name was Elaka. She was seen as a priestess. Elaka was the savior of all humans. She created a boarder and the world was divided in two: The Land of Light; was so peaceful that it had to be shielded from the world. Elaka had put a protective hidden wall around the kingdom so no one would come in unless brought in by the citizens. There were humans that lived there and their lives were a paradise. And total peace. And there was the Dark land. Where every other creature lived. The three major kingdoms tolerated each other for as long as they could. Years passed without war. Until Elaka suddenly vanished. Without her, the world would become chaotic again. The crystal was lost in the forest. So many have searched for it but never succeeded. Even if they ever found it, the legend says it was set in stone. It was glued to a tree and only 'The Diamond in The Rough' could pull it out. That person was never found.

CHAPTER 75:

It was a new day with the same old routine I had been trying to commit to for the past week.

I would start the day with breakfast, then move to take flying lessons from Cyrus, feel like a failure and to cheer myself up; learning to use my sixth senses then magic and finally sparing.

Though it might not go in this order everyday but it's still the same routine.

So far the sparing and magic classes have been going great.

Today I fought against King Javan.

He doesn't exactly fight clean but I don't expect him to fight clean anyways.

The match usually ends after he shapeshifts from wolf to human and Darya always opens a gate to get him dressed.

Those two have been getting oddly closer with each other lately but I choose not to overthink it; mostly because I have bigger things to worry about.

Jackie said she wanted to teach me something before we go on a break.

"so what's this special move you so desperately want to teach me?" I took my place on the arena, facing her.

"would you be able to fight without your sight?"

The question was so sudden and it came out of nowhere stunning everyone.

"w-what do you mean-"

"I've noticed you rely on your sense of sight too much! Hellen will obviously not give you a fair fight and would want to use any means necessary. You need to be prepared. I'll teach you how I fight"

"but you have spacial awareness" I said cockily with a grin and a cocked brow.

"and you have more powers and all of us combined. Seems fair enough; now stop being a baby and cover your eyes"

Using a piece of cloth to cover my eyes, I waited patiently for Jackie's instruction.

I could feel my heart pounding as the seconds turned to minutes.

"when your sight isn't available, your next best guess would be your hearing. You have the highest sense of hearing considering your background but you don't pay enough attention to it"

There was silence; it was so much that it became uncomfortable.

"surrender everything to your hearing it should be easy for-" as she spoke I could barely hear her.

She was becoming more inaudible and I couldn't so much as hear her footsteps anymore.

Being in such situation gave me a sense of danger and my hearing was at an all-time high.

Suddenly, I could feel the vibration and my ears picked up the faintest sound coming from behind me.

I moved to left, allowing whatever was attacking me to stumble forward.

It was only then that I took off the blind fold and saw that I had dodged Jackie's attack.

"see? That wasn't so hard was it?" she laughed.

"I'm feeling pretty worn out; we should all take a break"

"where is Imogen?" Cyrus asked suddenly.

He had gotten accustomed to dressing in the clothes of the Noieans and he looks nice in them.

"she's been training the recruits while Rayhan has been sweeping Eri off her feet" Tamar rolled his eyes.

"isn't that meant to be your job?" I laughed, existing the arena and approached where everyone sat.

"it's meant to be but she said she wanted to go at it alone today" he ran his fingers through his hair and let out a frustrated sigh.

"Imogen as a commander? Now that's something I'd like to see"

"I'll tag along. I need to see somewhere else asides the arena" Cyrus got up and we walked to the training grounds together.

Whenever flying lessons became a pain, he could recommend we take a break and talk about other trivial things.

And that's would take up most of our time.

Cyrus is actually an amazing teacher and instructor, though my thoughts about him teaching me was that he would he too hard on me.

He said he wasn't so good with flying as well and it frustrated his father as well, being next in line and all.

He faced so much at such a young and tender age.

One day when his father was fed up, he took Cyrus to the highest point in the castle and threw him off and didn't show any sign of catching him.

I always knew the castle was big but not big enough to train an entire army.

Guess I was proven wrong as usual.

We met her standing in front of thousands of men who were trying to line up.

When it was finally quiet she began speaking.

"look to your left-" and they obeyed.

"look to your right" and they did so.

"some of you may not make it out of here alive! Now as you all know, the demons have threatened the peace of the land and want to wage war against everyone. You need to be strong and agile. If I sense any weakness or any hesitation; I will snip it out" everyone was quiet but there was suddenly laughter coming from the middle of the crowd.

"who…was…that?" her voice low.

The men looked amongst themselves trying to figure out who the imposter is amongst them before one of them came from the middle of the crowd.

"did I say something amusing?" her voice was stern.

"yeah; I was expecting a commander and a real leader and not some princess who thinks she can scare us" he chuckled.

"and what makes you say that"

"firstly; you're not exactly the tallest and you look too cute to be commanding hard men like us who can basically f*ck you senseless if we want" he laughed and a few of his comrades agreed.

Those who were familiar with Imogen stayed silent, knowing fully well what she was capable of doing.

"I can tell that the majority of you that agree with him are werewolves. Let's make this interesting. One duel; if I lose you can have your way with me…ALL OF YOU. But if I win-"

"I don't think you will lass. Let's get this over with so I can put your pretty little mouth to better use"

He came closer and cracked his neck and arms; Imogen did simple stretches.

I watched as he dashed towards her to catch nothing but air.

Confusion eminent on his face and he tried again but no success.

"is this the best you can do? Jeez you're boring" she yawned with a smirk on her face.

The man became frustrated and began punching and flinging his arms in reckless abandon which he misses.

"you haven't landed a punch; lemme show you how to do it" without wasting time, Imogen was at his front.

Just one upper-cut sent him to the ground.

He touched his lips to find them bleeding.

"you're dead you b*tch" he tried lunging towards her but he was sloppy on his feet.

I believe personally, that his ego is more than his strengths.

Their battle was quite short and sorry to watch if I'm being honest.

He big guy kept on swinging and missing while Imogen kept on dodging and blocking; as well has adding some counter attacks here and there.

Finally, she swopped down and swept him off the ground and he fell with a huge thud.

"now that wasn't so difficult now was it?" she smiled pushing back the strands that managed fall on her forehead.

"anyone else?" everyone shook their heads still shocked by the display.

"remind me to never get on your bad side" Cyrus laughed nervously.

"yeah I knew you were a great fighter but I never expected that"

"well there's a lot you don't know about me" she smirked.
