The Diamond In The Rough✔

||Book 1 of the Diamond Series|| The world had fallen into chaos a long time ago. Creatures came and enslaved the human race: Vampires, Lycans/Werewolves and Demons. They took and slaughtered thousands of innocent people. Men, Women and Children. After suffering for ten years, another set of beings came. They had enormous wings and a shining silver rings floating above their heads. Rings that could be used as a weapon if necessary. These creatures were called 'Angels'. They were kind and honestly the opposite of every supernatural creature that existed in that era. They built their kingdom protecting as many humans as they could but the dark creatures had other things planed. There was a war that broke out. Every man for themselves or more specifically, every creature for themselves. The war went on for almost 500 years. Then there was a woman. She wasn't an Angel or Vampire or Lycan or Demon. Turns out she was a hybrid of all four. More powerful than anything. No one knows for sure how this hybrid was made and at some point, no one cared. Her name was Elaka. She was seen as a priestess. Elaka was the savior of all humans. She created a boarder and the world was divided in two: The Land of Light; was so peaceful that it had to be shielded from the world. Elaka had put a protective hidden wall around the kingdom so no one would come in unless brought in by the citizens. There were humans that lived there and their lives were a paradise. And total peace. And there was the Dark land. Where every other creature lived. The three major kingdoms tolerated each other for as long as they could. Years passed without war. Until Elaka suddenly vanished. Without her, the world would become chaotic again. The crystal was lost in the forest. So many have searched for it but never succeeded. Even if they ever found it, the legend says it was set in stone. It was glued to a tree and only 'The Diamond in The Rough' could pull it out. That person was never found.

CHAPTER 76:

"t-this is amazing" I smiled at myself.

After so long, I could finally use my sixth sense as I pleased.

When I tried the first time, I wasn't able to use it for quite long but now I'm able to go in and out, as long as the place is quiet.

Though I'm not able to fly yet, I can move faster than normal and also be more precise.

At least I've accomplished something; after three months of training but it still isn:t enough.

As for magic and sparing, I'm doing just fine but I seriously need to learn how to fly with or without my sixth sense.

"Lyra focus" Rayhan threw a blade at me and the handle hit the side of my head causing me serious pain.

"sorry" he said nervously as Eri smacked the back of this head.

Today's training was going to be harder than usual.

Imogen suggested I step up the difficulty so I was going to fight Sam, Jackie, Eri and Tamar while blindfolded.

When I was told about this, it was overwhelming because I've only fought one person at a time while being blindfolded.

And though I was getting better every day but four people at once just seemed too unfair even for me.

The most I've done is two people and my eyes were open but this was just insane.

A part of me wonders if my mother ever trained this hard.

"are you ready?" Tamar asked, tossing my blindfold which I caught with ease.

I looked down at the cloth in my hands before taking a deep breath and tying it around my eyes.

"I'm ready" my voice was shaky.

The sound of footsteps had died down and one would think that they were alone but I knew better than that.

How they manage to be that silent is beyond me.

I always hated fighting with a blindfold because it would become too quiet and I would be left with my thoughts.

Out of nowhere, my ears picked the faintest whooshing from my right where I last saw Eri standing.

My hands moved fast enough to draw a shield and I felt the vibration when her sword came in contact with the shield.

Then from behind someone was running towards me; I could tell it was Sam since he's really terrible at being stealthy.

Without wasting time, I used my whips to go around his ankle and threw him in Tamar's direction.

Then some advances were made from in front but I was lucky enough to take steps back and my attacker missed.

I soon regretted my actions as I felt someone punch my back and there was another quick hit to my head and it made me disoriented.

"you're slipping Lyra" a voice said and someone gave me an upper-cut while I was trying to focus on the voice.

The taste of my own blood met my tongue and I was becoming more and more tired.

They didn't stop for even a second, using the slightest opportunity or fining a loophole or weak spot to attack.

I was barely able to dodge them all and there were injuries on my skin.

Panic washed over me and the traumatic experience of me being in that cell came back.

I began to pant as beads of sweat began dripping from my forehead while I had luckily dodged Sam's kick.

Deep breaths; Deep breaths.

I tried calming myself down but it wasn't helping at all and the pain of someone kicking me in the back made it hard to concentrate.

I had to run and give myself some distance but they followed me and continued with their attacks.

I had had enough of this!

I felt an incredible surge of power pass though me and I caught someone's blade between my hands and flung it away.

My sixth sense; I was aware I was using it but the fact that I activated it in such a scenario was what shocked me.

All their actions stopped for a while before four of time charged at me at the same time.

I didn't bother removing the blindfold as I did a few summersaults away from them.

Eri had opened a gate form behind me and was unarmed.

Her plan was to use her fists and magic.

As she was about to hit my ribs, I grabbed her fist and kicked her in the stomach.

Tamar was charging from behind and Jackie was charging from the front.

I stepped away and the hit their heads with a serious amount of force.

Sam charged towards me carelessly and I took hold of his ankle and swung him in Eri's direction; defeating all four of them.

"I surrender" Tamar said, rubbing his head in agony, Jackie did the same as well.

"this headache isn't going to go away any time soon" Jackie mumbled.

"we've never seen you use your sixth sense before; you look different" Cyrus approached us.

It's true; ever since I unlocked this ability, I hadn't told any of them and I was fortunate for them not to see me while I train.

"thank you" I smiled nervously and closed my eyes.

I felt myself become less powerful and my body became lighter.

Mother said I should learn to control my anger while using my sixth sense if not I can switch from angelic to demonic in a matter of seconds; depending on how angry I get.

"so far you've improved greatly and mastered almost everything except-" Rayhan paused.

Everyone knew how I felt towards flying.

For some odd reason it didn't come so easy to me but I have an idea on what to do and how to come across this block once and for all.

............

"this is absolutely crazy" Cyrus tried to stop me but I didn't listen.

I was going to do this once and for all.

If it should cost me my life; so be it!

After all, I haven't been able to save or help anyone since…forever.

We were climbing the highest mountain in Noie. It was my idea.

I remembered what Cyrus told me about how his father teaching me how to fly.

This might be a long shot but I still have to try.

I don't think I can go another day without not being able to fly.

It will make me feel worse about myself.

"you don't have to do this" I could see the worry and concern in his eyes and it softened my heart just to know how much he cares about me.

"I'll be fine; even if everything goes wrong, you'll catch me" I moved away from him and towards the edge of the cliff.

"yes but; I've failed to protect you before. If you die because I wasn't fast enough, I don't know if I'll live on"

Deep down he still feels bad about that night at the feast but it wasn't his fault at all but he won't give himself a break.

"it will be alright; I promise" a small smile crawled on my face before I surrendered to gravity.

I could hear him call my name in the distance but it was quickly blocked out by the wind.

The pain in my back kept growing and growing, making it more difficult to endure.

But no matter what, I wasn't going to change my mind about this.

Though my eyes were open I could barely see but the cliff was becoming smaller and smaller.

Tears began to cluster in my eyes as I saw Cyrus try to fly to my aid but I was just out of reach for him.

I began to hyperventilate as my back pain became unbearable and I couldn't suppress the scream that left me before everything faded into black…
