I collected myself sooner than I thought.
Maybe I came to terms with expecting the unexpected after the transmigration or my telepathy also have a calming effect on my mind, either way I'm not panicking about the existence of mutants anymore but that doesn't mean I have accepted the situation.
If Charles Xavier is in this universe, then the existence of X-men is almost certain and that gives me chills, the number of times those assholes fucked up in comics is literally infinite.
I let out a sigh and leaned back on the rim of the bed. I can worry about things like D-Day, House of M and Apocalypse later, right now my main concern is the telepath on a wheelchair.
I knew things about the universe, even if not this one specifically, I still knew a major lore of Marvel, if he confronts me about the knowledge I possess, I can't explain.
I can only hope that my telepathic abilities came with a mental barrier or else I'm fucked.
The door slowly opened snapping me out of my thoughts, Aunt May stepped in first, followed by 2 men, one in a wheelchair and a woman.
A glance at them and I instantly knew who they were.
Charles was the easiest to identify, he was a bald man in his 50s wearing a sharp suit with a gentle fatherly smile etched over his face as he came into the room, pushed by Ororo Munroe aka Storm.
She had a deep shade of brown skin, long white hair that reached till her back and wore a white shirt with a black jean. She looked quite young, must be in her early 20s, her eyes lazed over me for a second and a small smile bloomed on her face, following beside Ororo stood Scott Summers.
He was probably the same age as Storm, fairly tall with short brown hair, a light complexion and a tinted red sunglasses resting above his nose.
May came forward and sat next to me, she insisted them to take a seat but they politely refused.
"This is Edward and Eddy this is-." May started but she was cut short by Charles as he rolled his way towards me, while the smile he had when he came in turned into a frown.
'Not good, Not good at all.'
"Hello Edward, my name is Charles Xavier." He announced and pointed towards the two behind him. "This is Scott and Oro."
Scott raised his hand unbothered at the mention of his name while Oro waved to me with a smile.
"Hi." I waved back.
"Aww Hi." Storm replied.
A moment passed in silence before Charles took a long breath gaining everyone's attention including May's.
"So Mr.Xavier, can I know the reason for your visit?" May asked.
"Mrs.Parker, I would come straight to the point." He replied directly. "I run a school for gifted people and I would love to enroll Edward."
May narrowed her eyes and looked at me before turning back to Charles. "What exactly do you mean when you say 'gifted'?"
"In the sense of special, Edward is born with X-gene, people like him develop abilities and powers at a specific age, we help them train and guide them to learn how to use their power for the benefit of mankind."
"W-Wait, X-gene, power, ability, I don't understand what you are trying to say." May asked with her brows squinted.
"Mrs.Parker, to be clear-." Charles said but he was interrupted by Scott.
"He is a mutant." There it was and God I hate that word, makes me sound like some kind of disease.
The room went silent for a moment as May stared at them without a response, while they patiently waited for her.
"I'm sorry, it's quite hard to put my head around it but first of all, how are you so sure he is a mutant and how do you know where he was?" May asked coming out of her trance.
"As I said Mrs.Parker, mutants have a certain set of abilities and my gift helps me sense people and read their thoughts." Charles calmly answered.
"So you read his mind and came here? That's rude and a violation of privacy, Mr.Xavier!" May stood up with her hands clenched.
"Mam, please be at ease, I sensed him through my power and I can't read his mind even if I want to, there is something blocking me." Charles mentioned, I blinked at the new information and sighed mentally in relief.
"So you did try to read his mind." Aunt May said reading between his words, she slowly moved from her spot and stood in front of me, blocking them from my view.
"I-I didn't do it on purpose Mrs.Park-."
"I'm sorry Mr.Charles but I'm gonna ask you to leave." May said pointing at the door, I couldn't help but let out another sigh as I nodded mentally.
Even if somehow May was convinced by Charles to let me enter his school, I don't have plans on joining X-Men any time soon, so obviously I would have rejected their proposal but it's even better now that May has clearly shown her disinterest in them.
"Mrs.Parker, hear me once before you decide-."
"I'm sorry, please." May said firmly, Charles wasn't able to do anything but sigh and nod.
He looked skeptical but respected May's wishes and decided to leave, which was a bit surprising to me but I can understand, Charles was always a pacifist in the comics, he wouldn't want a bad reputation by going into a verbal argument.
"Fine Mrs.Parker, I hope Edward will be in your care, if he ever happens to run into any problem regarding his mutation, we are more than happy to help, this is my card, please contact me if necessary." He passed a business card and flashed a smile towards me.
Oro pushed him out of the room after saying a goodbye to me while Scott walked behind them without giving a response.
"Hmph!" May released a short huff of air with her arms folded over her chest in a bit of anger and pride.
"Aunt May." I called her. "Is there a problem?"
"Oh, no Eddy, there is no problem." She said while embracing me into a hug. "Don't you worry, I got you."
