Underground

Upon discovering that there were no eyes around, Kimi released Growlithe and Eevee.

Her torch lit up the darkness a little which allowed her to see deeper into the underground tunnels.

She began to walk deeper within while being followed by four others.

The deeper that she went, the less air there was and the more difficult it was to breathe.

Her mask was removed from her face and was replaced with a small breathing mask with a small air container attached to it. "Hah.."

Her voice was slightly different when she talked after putting it on but she quickly gave orders without showing any changes in her tone of voice. "Stay on guard."

They walked deeper into the cave and then found all kinds of tools within which had been left behind.

There were shovels, pickaxes and others scattered around as Kimi walked over them until she came to a halt suddenly upon detecting a couple of obstructions nearby.

Her hand raised the torch towards them and there were several poisoned humans laying dead while vines had confined them up by the wall.

The pain and despair was still fresh on their faces even if they had begun to decompose a little.

Kimi had arrived at many crimes scenes and witnessed all kinds of sights in both worlds so she did not make any noise or become fearful upon witnessing it.

Instead she turned around to place her finger over her lips to signal the others to keep quiet while sending her aura towards each of them to convey her meaning. 'Danger is around so be careful.'

The air continued to grow thinner as she entered deeper after passing the corpses. 'I will come back for them later.'

Her torch had been turned off and she continued to use her aura to sense her surroundings as she ventured deeper.

Slash. Whip. Crunch. Bang.

As Kimi was getting closer to the end of the tunnel there was a large amount of different figures inside so Kimi did not hesitate to release more of her Pokémon.

Tangela, Cubone and Poliwag appeared just as Scyther and Eevee ran in close to use Quick Attack.

Growlithe was not too far behind as it jumped into one of the figures in the dark and bit onto one of them.

The torch was turned on and caused the Pokemon standing around the area to be blinded for a moment when Growlithe had went in to bite one of them.

The sound created from Tangela, Cubone and Poliwag being released from their Pokéball happened a little before Scyther and Eevee both landed their attacks so it was already too late for the opposing group to respond.

A group of Bellsprout were standing around in the dark as if they were looking for or protecting something underground while there was a larger figure deeper at the back of the room.

Many vines were released towards Eevee and Scyther but they both used Quick Attack while Scyther made use of Double Team add extra evasion.

They started moving from Bellsprout to Bellsprout as Wing Attack hit those Scyther passed by and Eevee tackled them using her experience from her previous battles.

The vines missed Eevee and Scyther then went towards Growlithe but Growlithe did not run away but instead charged forward.

The flames surrounded her body and formed a Flame Wheel which spun around her as she walked into the vines and right into a Bellsprout blocking her path. "Growlithe!"

A couple of ordinary Pokéballs followed by some illegal ones had caught those that had been injured or fainted.

The injured Bellsprout struggled inside to avoid capture until one was released leaving the others captured so one had been delayed for a while to stop it from attacking and aiding its allies.

The vines of Tangela whipped towards the other incoming vines then used its own vines to Bind a Bellsprout.

Cubone focussed its energy then used Bone Club on the bound Bellsprout while Poliwag released bubbles towards the remaining group to push back the powders and spores slightly to prevent them from reaching the others.

Larger vines appeared from behind as if something had been disturbed and another Pokémon had emerged from the darkness.

Kimi showed a look of surprise for a moment then her gaze turned cheerful as her information had been correct. 'It is a good thing that I planned with dad to camp out and train here for a while before moving on.'

Her eyes locked onto the larger and evolved version of the Bellsprout evolutionary line. "Victreebell."

There were pieces of information about a discovery within Viridian Forest but once it had become official, it had been handed over to the league to handle.

The area became closed off for a while as the league officials and workers were busy taking away the resources for themselves.

Some local officers were assigned to keep the area closed off and patrol the area around it so Kimi had a vague idea about the location and time it would be discovered so finding it was not too difficult.

The stores and malls in the area were later given the rights to distribute them shortly after they had been collected by the league so they made a lot of money from it.

Upon seeing the Victreebell, Kimi was sure that the information was correct but she had to focus on the current issue before anything else. 'If I lose here them I could end up like those I met earlier. If I am correct then they had been digging and mining deep into Viridian Forest illegally and something attracted the Bellsprout here. That something.. attracted them enough to make them want to seize it from the humans and wish to keep it for themselves.'

She could see how desperately the Bellsprout were fighting so she knew that they highly valued the location they were guarding.

Certain Pokémon were drawn to certain environments because of the higher energy or certain phenomena which were very beneficial for their growth or evolution.

If Kimi her old selfless self who valued justice and helping people over profit then she would have reported such a discovery right away but that was no longer her.

In her head contained certain things which could help her gain certain advantages and profits so she had to take advantage of them while she could.

Since she had decided on how to live her new life granted to her, Kimi would not repeat the same things she had done in her previous lives as she handed over certain benefits to the Jenny family or the League while she was still struggling with funds to raise her own Pokémon or attend to the wounds they or she had gained during her duties.

A look of determination was lit up in her red eyes as she pointed forward. "Growlithe! Keep running through and do not stop! Flame Wheel!"

Growlithe heard her masters call and saw the approaching Victreebell aiming its vines towards her allies. "Growlithe!"

Flames surrounded her body as she ran forward towards the Victreebell.
