Demon Knight (1)

Noah and Ariel chanted a few spells before mesmerizing Mana particles condensed together.

On top of Noah's head 5 spikes appeared, floating above him while forming a sphere. Link looked at the spell and recognized it. It was a Fire element spell called Flame Blades, a Level 4 one. Link learned and sold it to the Shop when he received the Skill Books from the military.

Ariel knocked an arrow in as the particles around her all merged with the Arrow, making it glow a dark orange glow. It kept getting darker and darker until there was no glow no more.

Ganthor nodded towards Link and started sneaking towards the big tent. Night fell a while ago as they waited patiently for their operation to begin. Due to Ganthor's size, he was less noticeable as he made his way there carefully.

The closer he got to the camp the clearer the voices were. He heard snarling and roars here and there with barely intelligible speech. He couldn't help but frown at this, as he knew well that these were not Demons, but Demon Pawns that were once people. He didn't believe that these creatures and barbaric things he was hearing were once intelligent beings. He felt his heart clench in sadness, knowing full well that they most likely had no choice. With the contract signed by their King, they no longer were citizens but resources.

Ganthor reached the tent and started taking small spheres out of his Storage Ring and placing them gently. He kept doing this as he moved around the camp. Sometimes even sneaking one inside a tent.

10 minutes passed in a jiffy and what they were waiting for happened.

As Ganthor was about to place another bomb in a tent, a Dark skinned 8 feet tall man opened it, staring Ganthor straight in the eye. His blurry eyes and twisted horns on his head would have intimidated anyone, but Ganthor did not hesitate, he quickly and swiftly grabbed his weapon and activated a Spell, making his whole body glow.

WOSH!

His body moved a few inches, but in front of him, the Pawn started spitting blood, as its body slowly slid down with the tent behind him. Both were cut in half with a slash, showing Ganthor's skill.

Without waiting to see the result, he quickly turned around and started running back as roars and screams echoed throughout the night.

Link waited a couple of seconds before yelling. "Now!"

WOSH! BOOOOOMM!

The whole area lit up, as if the sun was finally returning to its rightful place. The bombs were so powerful that the ground lifted, creating craters and giant cracks everywhere. They were Military Grade Bombs after all, made with the most efficient materials and pumped full of Mana.

The scene though did not make the team drop their guard as they continued with the plan. They met with Ganthor halfway and each took his position as they moved towards the chaos.

Demon Pawns were known for their powerful physique, which was why none of the team was surprised seeing a good amount of them glaring in their direction after they passed the smoke. As Link made his way there also, he saw a few Demon Pawns that brought back some memories.

He couldn't help but compare a few of them to the first Pawn he met back in his village.. Peter. That bastard nearly killed his family and friends if he did not show up on time. Thinking of this, he couldn't help but remember his father and his old Hunting team.

He remembered the good times they had together. How Gail used to throw him on top of his shoulders when he was a kid, running around with him. How Eddy taught him a few skills and did not hesitate to appease him with whatever demand he proposed. Although Sal and Robart survived the village massacre and were living in the Kingdom, due to not having time and always running around here and there, he did not see them for a while now which made him want to pay them a visit. But now was not the time for any of that. Link shook his head as he refocused on the fight that was happening underneath him.

Ganthor was like a lion. He moved around swiftly while killing any enemy that had his focus on Helga. They worked together well, impressing even Link. He saw them train, but nothing could beat seeing it live.

Noah and Ariel were focused on covering Ganthor while taking out any Pawn that looked their way. Although some slipped by, their fate differed naught as Jhuler did his job perfectly, defending Marzia well as she sent white doves to anyone of her team that acquired an injury.

They controlled the scene well, showing their years of skill and experience. The whole process was smooth and relaxing, even with all the gore and blood. They showed no mercy, even when they knew that these Pawns were once innocent people.

ARGH!

Helga was struck by a Werewolf looking Pawn. She bled all over as she couldn't help but lose focus, making her get attacked more by the enemies around. Ganthor tried his best to lessen it but he had his own fans to deal with.

"Change!"

Hearing the signal coming from Link, Helga jumped back, going straight towards Jhuler as they tapped each other.

Helga stood in front of Marzia, taking Jhuler's job as she was being healed at the same time. Her wounds closed up quickly, but the loss of blood and Mana was still affecting her.

"YOU DARE HURT MY HELGA!" Jhuler yelled as he jumped in the middle of the Creatures. His body grew bigger and bigger, as the moment his feet touched the ground, it shook.

BAM!

Showing the mighty strength of the Giants, he thrashed the Pawns around like they were made of paper.

Link watched this with a smirk on his face. "They're not bad"

The fight went on for another hour, as a surprising number of Pawns survived the bombing. Helga and Jhuler kept changing positions while Ganthor was barely hurt, but his Mana ran out quickly.

"*Sigh*" Marzia sighed with her face blue. Her Mana ran out a while ago but she still hung on as best as she could.

The team looked at each other and chuckled. They were satisfied with their work.

WOSH!

As they were about to speak, a figure appeared out of nowhere. It had a Human body but with deformities here and there, making him look like a Werewolf mid transformation. It swung its arm, bearing its sharp claws at Ganthor's throat.

"Die you vermin!" He mumbled.

BAM!

"Why don't you give them some time to rest and they'll play with you!"

The Demon looked at Link holding its arm as he spoke arrogantly. He pulled his arm back quickly and started swinging like crazy. Link, though, never moved, as each attack seemed to be getting deflected a few centimetres away from his body.

"You deaf?" Link asked calmly.

Seeing its attacks bearing no result, the Demon jumped back, staring at Link warily.

"Don't worry, I won't attack you" Link spoke. "Like i said, give them some time to rest and you guys can play"

The team looked at Link with dumbfounded expressions, not believing what they were hearing.

"Captain!" Ariel spoke. "That's a Demon Knight.. It'll be difficult enough even if we were in our peak condition!"

Link looked back at her and then looked back at the Demon Knight. "If you win, i'll let you leave!"
