On that day, the very world was shaken

Or atleast, I assumed it was.

Even though 300 years had passed since the moment Veldora was sealed, he was still a calamity-class monster.

Not that I cared, to others he might have disappeared without reason but for me, I knew for a fact he was currently inside my stomach, wasting his days away while watching my memories as some sort of movie.

...I'm concerned on what kind of abilities he'll try to create, I've watched a lot of weird anime.

Nevertheless, that's a bridge I'll cross when I get there. Today marked the 30th day since I had ate veldora in hopes of releasing him from his seal.

What have I been doing all this time?

"Hmm, maybe?" I asked myself as I used my enhanced strength to slowly but surely harvest the mineral known as demon ore that sprouted from the ground.

It was an important process, not only did I need it to make magisteel but also because I wanted a weapon.

Fighting in a slime's body capable of soaring through the air was very easy compared to fighting with a humanoid body.

"Great sage, do you think you can synthesize a skill that can make me produce weapons from my body?"

<>Received. The possibility of creating a skill of that property is high, though material and information on how to execute is needed in order to properly create.

"How about using this devil ore, and my memory of wolverine?"

<>Received. Wolverine claws has been identified from magnitude of memories... initiating skill synthesizing.

Hmm, I thought it'll be instant. Maybe Raphael can do that? It is still a unique skill.

I nodded to myself and took a deep breath before initializing predator to start devouring the remaining ores that I felt too lazy to extract.

After that, I resigned myself to fate and spent the followings week mastering my control over wind manipulation.

"Wind cutter!"

I yelled the attack of the skill i created and jumped backwards, throwing out 3 crescent waves that glowed bright green towards a large at a distance.

The result was of course as I expected,

The Boulder was immediate sliced in 5 equally large pieces that soon crumbled into the crystal clear lake below it.

Maybe if I learn fire magic and water magic, I can get a unique skill?

"That's a story for another day." I said to myself and began my journey out of the cave.

I followed the underground river, remembering that it was the path that Rimuru himself had taken before but otherwise just relied on the fact that the water should have started somewhere.

Then as if on cue, a gigantic cave opened, and I immediately hid myself as I had already known what would come next.

If I remembered correctly... they're at least B-rank? I was hoping for a chance to kill them and get some more skills but... no, too risky.

If only I had Guy's skill, tsk, do I need to kill Shizu to get degenerate? I need that skill.

Pondering on my future actions in my path of becoming stronger, I quietly left the cave as soon as the three visitors disappeared deeper into the cave.

From there on, it was only a matter of remembering the path that Rimuru had taken.

"And this... is where I should meet my first enemy."

I smiled at the sight of a black snake slithering into view. Thankfully it was the exact same size I had imagined to be so I wasn't intimated in the slightest.

"Heh, thank you... for being my first nourishment."

I happily greeted the beast and flicked my wrist, taking out a clump of unrefined ore from my stomach, and used [metal manipulation] on it to propell it at high speed.

It's what the dude from plunderer does.

The sight of the small metallic piece soaring through the air at high speeds gave me the thrill of a lifetime.

Though small, Devil iron seemed to be a very good piece of ore since it wasn't melting underneath the corrosive venom of the black snake.

<>Received. The vast amount of magicules inside the ore is causing it to be immune from the corrosion.

Oh, I see..so it's because of Veldora then.

Disappointed at the reality of my situation, I simply flicked my finger and sent the small piece of ore flying at the speed of sound, immediately decapitating the snake which caused its venom to spray out like a fountain.

"Ugh, gross."

I hastily used predator to swallow up the snake's corpse and smiled in satisfaction as the great sage immediately informs me of the skills I got.

"Poison breath and heat vision huh..."

Oh well, there should be a few more monsters inside this cave.

As I continued my ascent, I began to make plans on what I should do the moment I could finally start influencing the main events.

I should keep Shizu alive but... I need the degenerate skill. Maybe I can actually use a soul corridor then simply separate ifrit and Shizu?

But then again, Shizu will die once ifrit is gone... maybe I can replace Ifrit's magicule with mine? That should be possible right?

"Man, I hope so... then again, I want the degenerate skill. "

I know for a fact Raphael can analyze and copy skills but... I don't know about great sage.

Is my only option actually just absorbing Shizu?

I heaved a heavy sigh as I faced against a horde of monsters, both familiar and some new creatures that had never been mentioned before.

"Oh well, I'll cross that bridge if I get there."
