231. Fall of Poyang And Jianye

His help to Sun Ce and his allegiance to serve Sun Jian was different from the original timeline, Around the early 195 in the original timeline, he and Jiang Qin came to serve Sun Ce in his contest in Jiangdong, helping him defeat Liu Yao.

Sun Quan then favored Zhou Tai due to his merit, so he requested for Zhou Tai to be transferred to his unit, at that time due to Sun Quan's negligence, he was surrounded by bandits who attacked his location.

This helped him consolidate his rule and allowed him to break out from Yuan Shu and then begin his conquest of Jiangdong, unfortunately after pacifying Jiangdong he was assassinated unable to uphold his promise, which then was succeeded by Sun Quan.

Now the situation is different, even though Zhou Yu knows that Sun Jian will definitely tell his veterans to follow Sun Ce, his presence will still play a role in Sun Ce's rule because his prestige is much bigger.

That's why Sun Ce right now needs young blood that could become his confidante, and Zhou Tai can become one of those people as he has the talent and experience to do so.

Sun Ce's appointment to lead the second army group was under his persuasion to Sun Jian, that Sun Ce was ready and just needed the platform to prove to all of Sun Jian's retainer that he was a competent successor.

Lie Fan uses this moment to lead the soldiers who surrender to him and join his side, to control the gate and open it allowing his soldiers alongside his generals such as Ji Ling and Chao Bai to enter Jianye, without waiting for the battering ram to force open the gate.

The fall of Jianye's Southern Gate was followed by the fall of Jianye's Western Gate soon after the Western Gate heard the news, lowering their morale even more and allowing Lu Jun to take this chance and break through the Western Gate.

The flooding of Lie Fan's Army Group in Jianye signals the end of the siege of Jianye, as Jianye has been comprised and they have nowhere to run now because their Northern and Eastern Gate is close to the docks, which was bombarded by Lie Fan's fleet before, not giving them the change to leave.

Lie Fan's Tian Mao Battalion under the leadership of Xu Ring assisted by Ze Rong guarded both gates from the outside, killing the soldiers under Liu Yao who tried to flee Jianye.

Jianye's Governor is heading to the Governor's Castle that was guarded by the last battalion of soldiers under his command, but this can't stop Lie Fan's advance to take control of Jianye.

Many of the soldiers choose to switch sides after knowing that many of their comrades switched their allegiance toward Lie Fan, giving them the courage to do the same which allows Lie Fan to take control of the Governor Castle and capture the Governor.

The capture of Jianye's Governor signals the end of the battle and the fall of Jianye to Lie Fan's hand. Lie Fan spent some time in Jianye after that alongside the Army Group he led organizing and consolidating his rule over Jianye.

After feeling that everything is good, Lie Fan then continues to lead his army group in subjugating the rest of Jianye's County, as this is a great chance for him to exploit without having any true challenges along the way.

Jianye County was in chaos, Lie Fan led his army group in a blitzkrieg tactic managing to consolidate his rule over each town and village without wasting much time for his war machine to continue.

The Fall of Poyang and Jianye reached Liu Yao's capital after some weeks, much later than usual because their front line is in bad condition right now, with Sun Jian and Lie Fan dominating.

The fall of Poyang and Jianye shocked Yu Mi and Hua Xin, they never expected that Lie Fan would join Sun Jian's attack so quickly and that the two counties would fall that fast under the onslaught of both Sun Jian and Lie Fan.

Liu Yao who received the news then scolded Yu Mi and Hua Xin for being so incompetent, saying that even though Yu Fan and He Wi are traitors right now, their abilities are far more superior than theirs.

This caused both Yu Mi and Hua Xin began to resent Liu Yao, the two of them had been introspecting themselves these past few days and could see that they were blinded by their envy, and all of this is because Liu Yao didn't give them a chance, now he could only scolded them which makes them aggrieved.
