"Well good luck." Captain Tyrone said, as he waved Rak off. Currently they were at the docks where Rak was being sent off. "Thank you Captain, I'll do my best." Rak replied before stepping onto the boat. In truth Rak wasn't alone, with him he had a navigator Pablo.
Pablo, like Rak, was a Seaman First Class who also happened to be an experienced navigator. He was an older man, about 30 to 40 years old by Rak's estimates, and had a thick horseshoe moustache. "I'll be in your care." Rak greeted as he sat down within the boat.
"Mhm, don't worry about it, I'll get you there as swiftly as possible." Pablo replied before they set off. Pablo then took the rows of the boat and began rowing slowly, as Stork Island became smaller and smaller as it faded over the horizon.
"So Polink right?" Pablo asked as he locked eyes with Rak. "Ya, how far is it by the way?" Rak responded, the boat was quite cramped so he didn't wish to stay in it for too long. "Hmm about 1 or 2 days give or take, really it depends on the weather." Pablo guessed before continuing to row the boat.
It was quite the quiet ride as they didn't have much to talk about. At some point Rak took over from the rowing and they continued on their way to Polink Island. During the journey Rak didn't have much to eat as he hadn't stored that many rations with him, but what annoyed him the most was that he couldn't complete his training routine.
Fortunately he had done it before departing for Polink meaning he'd miss a day at most assuming he completed the training once he arrived at Polink.
Soon the journey came to an end, as the two arrived at a large island. It was the dead of the night when they arrived, but the island in front of them was still bright as day, ships constantly going in and out of the port, as the bright lights from the buildings made the island look like a lighthouse within the sea.
'This island is quite big, well I guess otherwise there wouldn't be as many as 5 heads.' Rak rationalised as their boat neared the island. "Good luck." Pablo wished him well, as Rak departed from the boat. "Thanks." Rak replied before Pablo rowed away on his way back to Stork Town.
Entering Polink, Rak was naturally not dressed in his marine uniform, but rather in a scruffy somewhat torn black shirt, and black trousers. While walking through the island Rak would often see a fight which had just begun or had ended some time ago, the streets were chaotic to say the least.
But to Rak this didn't matter, he simply continued on his way through the streets while minding his own business. 'The building with the red and black sign.' Rak thought as his eyes locked onto a bar some distance away.
The sign read "Eni and Ram's Bar" and was the place where Rak's mission in Polink would begin. Entering the bar immediately Rak's nose was assaulted by the stench of alcohol, but the sight within it wasn't any better, as half naked men and woman sat around drinking and eating.
Rak didn't pay attention to this for too long though, as he quickly made his way through the bar and to a backdoor in the corner of the bar. Knocking thrice, a pair of eyes looked out of the door staring closely at Rak.
"Who might it be?"
"The hammer."
"Of who?"
"The dragon."
After this brief exchange the door then slid open allowing Rak to enter the room. "So you're the kid Tyrone sent?" A bald man who looked to be around 50 years old said. "Yes, I am Rak, you are Ram?" Rak replied, to which the bald man nodded.
Ram then walked to a bookshelf at the back of the room before pulling back a book. This opened up a pathway at the side of the room. 'How cliche.' Rak chuckled at this sight. "Lets go." Ram said before guiding Rak down the pathway.
The pathway was dark, and dreary and lack little to any light. The only reason Rak could still follow Ram was due to the fact the old man was being obnoxiously loud to indicate the way Rak had to move towards.
A few minutes later Ram stopped before opening a door. Immediately a soft light entered Rak's eyes. "This is him?" Rak heard a feminine voice as he entered the room. From what he could see it was coming from a blob who stood about a head shorter than him.
After Rak's eyes adjust he recognised the blob to be a woman. She had long blood red hair and purple eyes, and was quite pretty in Rak's opinion. 'Rare eye and hair colours even for One Piece.' Rak thought before looking around the room.
It was decently large and simply had two sofas with a large table off to the side. On the table were various books, which Rak assume carried important information, and a Den Den Mushi next to it.
"Hello, is anybody home?" The woman said while clicking her fingers. "Ah my bad, I am Rak nice to meet you." Rak replied while stretching out his hand. "Eni, likewise." She reciprocated by shaking his hand.
"Okay now that you're here we can begin briefing you about Polink." Eni said before walking towards the desk. She then grabbed 5 books, which she then tossed to Rak. "This is information on each of the 5 Captains, I suggest you read them thoroughly." Eni explained, before Ram then went into detail about the structure of Polink.
Firstly the port in which Rak had entered through was considered a neutral zone, this came to be a neutral zone as in the past the Captains would constantly fight over it, to the point were it almost led to the marines taking over the entire island. Because of this they decided to declare it neutral to ensure the continued existence of Polink.
Secondly the rest of the island was divided into 5 pieces. The north of the island was jointly shared by Captains Grip, and Blackroot, this was because comparatively they were weaker than the other Captains, so while they had their own territory they could also be considered allies. Captain Gold Tooth then occupied the West of Polink, while Captain Po occupied the East, and Captain Ink the center.
"So this place is within which territory?" Rak asked out of curiosity. "We can be considered in the neutral zone since we're close to the port. Which is in fact why we set up shop here, since we get customers from every region of the island." Ram answered.
"Okay then good to know. How long do I have to complete the mission?" Rak continued his questioning. "Theoretically you have no time limit, but it'd be best if you produced some results within 2 weeks." Eni replied.
"Hmm, 2 weeks.... alright then." Rak mumbled. In truth he didn't really mind how long the mission was but he'd rather complete as efficiently as possible. 'If I stay on this island for too long I might catch a disease.' With that thought Rak's mission on Polink began.
