Chapter 32

While Leon was in his bedroom one afternoon, he heard a notification from the poke-incubator that the Togepi egg was about to hatch. It was more than three months since he got the egg. Poke-eggs usually hatch in about 3-6 months, depending on the species. He had prepared himself the previous weeks for this moment. He quickly took it out from the poke-incubator and held it in his arms. It was important for them to be alone during this time in order for the Togepi to imprint on Leon.

Crack* Crack*

Togepi slowly opened her eyes. She stared at Leon then tilted her head, "Pre?"

She's so adorable! Leon felt his heart melt at the sight of Togepi. He instinctively hugged her gently and a huge smile decorated his face. Togepi snuggled back, embracing Leon's warmth and fell asleep. He remembered the time when he adopted a stray kitten back from his past life. Leon slowly sat down on the floor and leaned on his bed carefully to not wake the hatchling. Afterwards, he took out Toshi and Jin from their pokeballs.

"Guys... This is your little sister, Fae," he showed her to them. Leon named her after his kitten that he adopted in the past. Both pokemon looked at the sleeping Togepi with gentle eyes and swore to protect their little sister. The three of them eventually fell asleep, while Toshi and Jin were leaning on Leon.

When Leon woke up, he was greeted with a System Notification.

New Soul Bound detected. Fae would now able to access parts of the system that the host will allow.

Also, Jin has gotten stronger and learned a variety of skills with the help of TMs bought from the academy, stores and black market. And Fae's status also looks good, Leon thought.

The pokemon in this world had a different evolution requirements compared to those pokemon from the games in earth. While some evolved early, others evolved late. This depended on the amount of world energy a pokemon had, according to Mewpedia. Those pokemon that were living in areas that were abundant of world energy evolved faster compared to those who had less. However, this didn't mean that those who were more evolved were stronger than those who were not, even if they had higher stats. Other factors such as levels, skill proficiency and battle experience were important, and must be considered in a pokemon's overall strength. It was easier to increase a pokemon's level when their stage were still low but it got exponentially harder to level-up when they're already at higher stages.

He checked his own status. There was nothing much that had changed, except his level which had increased. Unlike pokemon, it was much harder for humans to become stronger. Though he felt that he could break through the Aura Knight Rank and Two-Wave Rank Psychic. All he needed was a little push.

Leon felt movement in his arms. "Are you awake, Fae?"

"Pre! Pre!" Fae replied looking like she was hungry.

Toshi and Jin had woken up when they heard Fae. Leon decided that they should eat together. He took out some MooMoo milk that he had stored in their dorm's fridge and fed Fae and he cooked food for the rest. Fae hungrily devoured the MooMoo milk.

"Slow down Fae. This is all for you," Leon said. Toshi and Jin also encouraged her to drink slowly. Fae drank about two small carts of milk before she fell asleep again. Leon returned them inside their pokeballs after they finished eating and went to class.
