Ch. 05 - Delivering

Wasting no more time, I started making my way to 'Pallet Town', even after using the short part; the distance from 'Viridian City' to 'Pallet Town' was not small.

After about 1 hour, I was almost at 'Pallet Town' but something or someone caught my attention.

Other players, who were making their way to 'Viridian City'.

There were quite a few players that had already gotten their starter Pokemon and now making their way to 'Viridian City'.

I saw some of the players battling wild Pokemon, whereas others were spectating the battle. Some players were even having Pokemon battles among themselves.

I knew there was not much time left before the 6 hours were over, so I made my way to the lab to deliver the parcel to Professor Oak.

Just as I entered the lab, I saw Professor Oak and Blue talking.

"To make a complete guide on all the Pokemon in the world..."

"That was my dream." said Professor Oak with a sad expression.

"But, I'm too old. I can't get the job done."

"So, I want you to fulfill my dream for me." said Professor Oak to Blue.

"Get moving."

"This is a great undertaking in Pokemon history." said Professor Oak with sparkling eyes.

"All right, Gramsps, Leave it all to me." said Blue as he said his goodbyes to Professor Oak and left.

"Oh, Dipper. How is your starter Pokemon?" asked Professor Oak as soon as he saw me.

"He is doing great." I said as I summoned the Poke Ball and took Charmander out.

"Well, It seems to be growing more attached to you."

"You must be talented as a Pokemon trainer." complemented Professor Oak.

"Professor Oak, I was able to get your parcel from the Poke Mart of 'Viridian City' for you." I said as I called back Charmander into his Poke Ball and put the Poke Ball away.

"What? Really?"

I took the parcel out of my backpack and gave it to Professor Oak.

[You have delivered Professor Oak's parcel]

Taking the cardboard box from my hands, Professor Oak immediately started opening it.

"Ah, It's the custom Poke Ball!"

"I had it on order. Thank You for delivering it." said Professor Oak.

[Quest - Hero's Journey (2/2)

Description - There is a parcel under the name of Professor Oak in the Poke Mart of 'Viridian City'. Go to 'Viridian City' and retrieve that parcel for Professor Oak.

"Oh, right Dipper, Since you will be starting your trainer journey, I have a request for you."

Professor Oak moved towards the desk at the back of the lab.

"On the desk, there is my invention, the PokeDEX" said Professor Oak as he showed me a device that had the same build as a smartphone with a red and white color scheme.

"It automatically records data on Pokemon you've seen or caught." explained Professor Oak.

"It's a high-tech encyclopedia!"

"I have already given one of these to Blue, take one with you too." said Professor Oak as he handed me the PokeDEX

"You can't get detailed data on the Pokemon by just seeing them." said Professor Oak.

"You must catch them to obtain complete data."

"So, here are some tools for catching wild Pokemon" said Professor Oak as he pulled out some Poke Balls from the drawer of the desk and handed them to me.

Taking the Poke Balls, I put them in the side pocket of my backpack.

"When a wild Pokemon appears, it's fair game. Just throw a Poke Ball at it and try to catch it." Professor Oak explained the way to use the Poke Ball.

"This won't always work, however. A healthy Pokemon can escape. You have to be lucky." said Professor Oak.

"Of course, all your work would be without rewards as the more Pokemon species you catch, the more data will be collected by your PokeDEX and every once in a while you can come to me and based on the data collected, I will give you appropriate rewards." said Professor Oak.

"In some Cities, you can also find my assistants, to which you can show the PokeDEX data to collect additional rewards."

"Ah, I forgot to mention, your PokeDEX also stores your information as a trainer card. You can see your information like your badges, money, ID number, and other such information."

"Now, then get moving or you will be left behind by Blue" said Professor Oak.

I made my way out of the lab and took out the PokeDEX to view my trainer card.

Looking over my Trainer card and the remaining time which I should be the time left out of the 6 hours. The bottom of the card is empty since I don't have any gym badge to showcase.

Since I had 15 minutes to spare, I started walking around 'Pallet Town', before I knew it I was in the southmost part of the town where a large opening of water is located. Looking around, I could see other players moving around the town, talking to the NPCs and exploring the area of the town.

'Man, This has got to be the best day of my life. Not only am I transported to another world but now I am also in a Pokemon world. However, I wonder what is the goal of all of this. Who is the one responsible for my isekai and who is responsible for connecting the real world and this Pokemon world? are both of their existence the same or are they two separate beings?'

'It's no use thinking about it. Even if I know who is the one behind all of this. I wouldn't be able to do anything with that information.'

I kept looking at the beautiful scenery in front of me before I and every other player turned into white lights and disappeared from the Pokemon world.

I woke up on my bed inside my apartment. Climbing out of the bed, I looked outside from the window and it was already dark outside. Sitting back on the bed, I took out an energy bar and started munching on it. After eating the energy bar, I opened my phone and checked the internet.

The whole world is in great chaos right now, people from age 19 to 50 are the ones who run the world, Suddenly causing a lot of chaos. Thankfully it was only for 6 hours before they came back and no extreme damage was done in their absence.

According to the Internet, before the players were transported to the world of Pokemon, various governments around the world where people couldn't see the announcement made by the Professors because of nighttime were alerted by their government such that they wouldn't be transported to the world of Pokemon in their sleep and have no clue what is happening.

After some time, Players also started sharing their experience of the Pokemon world on the internet. Looking over the stories of other players, I could tell that only a small amount of players were able to get their starter Pokemon where as other players spent their time exploring their surroundings.

I searched for 'Kento Region' on the internet and there were players of 'Kento Region' who were able to get their starter Pokemon and were sharing their experience. I looked over their shared information, and I could not find any mention of the [First Pokemon Battle] quest. It seems only I was the one who received that quest. The players even received the same quest to retrieve Professor Oak's parcel as me but no one other than has completed this quest. The players were in the process of crossing 'Route 1' to reach 'Viridian City' before 6 hours were up.

Another interesting turn of events occurred around the world when the religious people started proclaiming the real world and Pokemon world connection as the divine work of God. They have started worshipping the Pokemon as holy angels.

After reading for some more, I put down the phone and went to the kitchen to make instant noodles.

After eating instant noodles, I picked up my phone again since I had nothing else to do. A new notification appears in front of me.

Looking at the notification, which is made by the government, I clicked on it.
