Chapter 43: War For Eostia (5)

Ark One, Part Twenty-Three

Neither Mikasa, Kushina, or Messorem made a single move; they just stood there with the humans, looking at the demon with a mixture of hatred and disgust plastered in their expressions.

A sentiment the demon shared toward his opposition as he utterly loathed anything that wasn't his kind. However, what Messorem hated most was those who delayed the inevitable, which was something their enemies were doing.

It was all set in stone for the demons to conquer the mortal planes. It may not be now, in a few years, or this century, but it would happen nonetheless.

It was the natural order of existence, after all. The weak submit and follow the strong, while the strong dictate everything and do as they please.

It had always been like this and shall remain like this until the end of everything itself.

So, seeing these lesser beings defy the order of things naturally infuriated him. They were defying their fate, purpose, and existence.

Even Messorem, who was far superior to the enemies before him, was nothing but an insect in the grand scheme of things, yet he accepted it. So why couldn't they?

It had nearly been six seconds of silence, and neither of the three moved until Messorem broke the standoff by sending several beams of demonic energy at the duo.

Both girls were promptly out of the way before the attack could hit them. However, their danger senses screamed at them to duck, so they did, barely evading getting stuck by the demon's energy beams.

Mikasa closed the distance and attacked Messorem directly, while Kushina attacked the demon from behind. She then shot Chains at the demon, which wrapped around his throat and arms, greatly alarming him.

Before he could react, Kushina pulled on the chains, sending him back, stumbling and vulnerable to Mikasa's attacks. The black-haired beauty then stabbed the demon in the throat and its left eye, causing Messorem to let out a gargled scream.

Kushina, not wanting to miss out on the fun, stabbed multiple explosive divine Kunai into Messorem's head and torso before jumping back a safe distance away.

"Get back!!! This fucker is gonna blow!!!" The redhead warned the older woman.

Doing as Kushina says, Mikasa jumped back twenty meters after she twisted her swords into Messorem's throat as an extra fuck you to the demon.

A second later, all the Kunai's stabbed into the demon exploded at once, destroying anything within a ten-meter radius and causing smoke to appear in the air.

Kushina jumped over to Mikasa's side and watched the smoke slowly fade alongside her.

"Do you sense anything?" Mikasa asked the redhead, who frowned slightly.

"No. You?"

"Nothing, but it never hurts to make sure," Mikasa replied, to which the redhead agreed.

Both stayed where they were just in case the demon was still alive and waiting for them to enter the smoke so he could sneak attack them. 

"You know...as much I wanted that guy dead. I was expecting the fight to last longer than that," Kushina commented, sounding somewhat disappointed.

However, she could understand that Messorem had been incredibly exhausted and weakened from all the fighting he'd been doing, so it was expected the demon wouldn't be fighting at peak performance.

Mikasa glances at her with a quirked eyebrow. "Seriously?"

Nothing the look the raven head was giving her, Kushina looked at her with an annoyed expression. 

"Hey, don't give me that look!" She barked. "I just wanted to kick his ass a bit more before he kicked the bucket, that's all."

Mikasa shook her head amusedly but didn't retort to the redhead's comment. After a few more minutes, all the smoke disappeared, revealing Messorem lying on the ground.

Not only that, he was also missing several limbs, and half of his head was blown off. The Ackerman narrowed her eyes slightly as, despite the critical injuries the demon received, he still wasn't dead.

Thus, slowly, she approached the body with Kushina following alongside her.

"Be prepared," Mikasa warned the redhead. "Something doesn't feel right," Kushina nodded.

"Gotcha."

As the two got closer to the demon's body, the feeling that something wasn't right became stronger, and soon, they began feeling shivering once they were only a couple of feet away from Messorem.

"Do you have any more explosives on you?" Mikasa asked, and the redhead nodded.

"Yeah, I still have a shit ton," Kushina grinned. "Want me to place them on him?"

Mikasa nodded. "Place triple the amount you put on him just to be safe."

"Got it," the redhead began placing dozens upon dozens of blessed paper bombs on Messorem's body. "Alright, that should be good enough."

"No kidding," Mikasa commented flatly. "How many did you exactly place on him?"

Kushina thought for a moment. " Nearly a hundred fifty, give or take," she answered, causing Mikasa's eyes to widen slightly.

"A bit overboard, don't you think?"

Kushina shrugged. "Better safe than sorry."

Neither of them was as powerful as King or Typhon; thus, it was harder for them to put down stronger demons who had shown some resistance to blessed weapons.

It only made sense for Kushina to go overboard.

"Fair enough, I guess."

Both were about to jump back so that Kushina could detonate the explosives, but both froze when they heard groaning and the sound of flesh growing.

They turned around, and much to their horror and annoyance, Messorem was still alive, rapidly regenerating from the damage done to him.

"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!!!!" Kushina shouted in disbelief and anger. "CAN'T YOU FUCKERS JUST STAY DOWN?!! You know what fuck you!!!! Mikasa, jump back!! It's about to be raining red!!!" Both women jumped back, and the redhead set off the explosives.

As expected, this explosion was bigger than the last one, nearly destroying everything within a fifty-meter radius. Once Mikasa and Kushina were a reasonable distance away,

Kushina winced at all the destruction their battle and explosives had caused.

'Good thing the city is mostly evacuated,' Kushina thought, making the fox snort.

'He's still not dead,' the kyubi commented mockingly, causing the redhead's eyes to widen.

'WHAT? HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY KNOW THAT?'

The fox shook its head in disappointment. 'Did you already forget I'm a demon too, you worthless hairless ape? I can sense them. You probably would've known that already if you weren't such a stubborn, narrow-minded cunt,' the fox mocked, infuriating the redhead.

'I WOULDN'T BE SUCH A CUNT IF YOU---' the redhead stopped herself from bickering with the demon fox as she knew it wouldn't get her anywhere, so she took several deep breaths before restarting their conversation. 'As I don't want to admit it...you're right... ' she reluctantly admitted, making the fox grin ferally.

'Oh, could you repeat that? I didn't quite hear you,' The Kyubi asked, feigning hearing loss in a sickly sweet tone that irritated the head.

As Kushina was about to retort, she and Mikasa felt goosebumps as they sensed a monstrous amount of demonic energy being released, causing all the smoke to disappear, revealing a healed Messorem.

However, that wasn't what gave them an edge. It was Messorom's new appearance as he now stood as tall as King and, instead of armor, had an exoskeleton with spikes protruding from the thick armor plates. He also has two large goat-like horns protruding out of his skull, a pair of powerful bat-like wings three times his size, and his lower half resembles a goat's.

Messorem let out a monstrous roar and began destroying everything with his insight.

"WHERE ARE YOU?!!!!" the demon demanded angrily, frantically searching through the city while destroying building after building. "I KNOW YOU TWO ARE SOMEWHERE AROUND HERE!! SHOW YOURSELVES COWARDS!!!!"

"Fuck," Mikasa cursed. "His power increased by at least twenty times. We won't be able to defeat him..." This situation was bad, very, very bad.

If they couldn't beat Messorem, they had no choice but to retreat, as much as she despised the idea and tried to find a solution. Unfortunately, none of them would work.

She thought of contracting the others for assistance but immediately tossed that idea to the side as it wouldn't make any difference and would just get them killed.

She couldn't contact King or Typhon as they were fighting the demonic leader.

'You hear that? My kin's power has reached a point where you both are utterly useless and hopeless in defeating him,' the Kyubi mocked Kushina and Mikasa. 'If only you weren't such a cunt in the beginning, that lesser demon would've been dead,' the fox lets out a faux hopeless sigh. 'It's going to be all you're fault that so many innocent males will be slaughtered like sheep while all the females will be nothing but disposable cum dumpsters. How does it feel to know you could've prevented this by just simply complying with me?' The fox began to laugh like a madman.

The more and more the Kyubi talked, the angrier the redhead became at the fox inside of her and at herself. She was aware she was being manipulated, but in a sick, twisting way, the fox was right.

Perhaps if she weren't so dismissive of the demonic being residing in her and tried to have better relations, they wouldn't be having this issue, but nope, she just had to be stubborn and a complete bitch.

Now, so many people were about to suffer because of her selfishness and stupidity.

No....

She wasn't going to allow that.

'What will it take for you to help me?' Kushina very reluctantly asked in a low, hopeless voice.

The fox chuckled. 'Oh, what's this I hear? You actually---'

'Please,' Kushina's hopeless tone cut him off, making the fox pause. 'I'm sorry....just help me. I don't wanna be the reason why so many people die...in exchange for your power...I'll find a way for you to leave my body...' She said hesitantly, making the Kyubi narrow its eyes.

'Is that so? And how do I know you're not trying to deceive me?' The Kyubi asked, sounding unconvinced.

The redhead let out a bitter laugh, which caused Mikasa to look at her strangely, but she ignored it.

'You've been with me for nearly nine years. Have you ever once known me to be smart enough to deceive you or go back on my word?' Kushina asked rhetorically. 'Once I make a promise, I keep it until the end. That's my Nindo way. So are you gonna help me or not?' Her voice this time was firm and full of determination.

The fox thought about what the red monkey said, and her words were valid. She was too honest but mostly stupid to deceive anyone, much less it.

She kept every promise she ever made, even if it greatly inconvenienced or put her in harm's way. With that in mind, the demonic being would accept her offer as the thought of being free of its cage was too promising.

It could've allowed the redhead and her friend to die, but it would take a couple of years to reform into the mortal planes, and the chances of it getting sealed away were too high to risk it.

'Very well, I'll give a small fraction of my power to help you defeat my kin. Any more, it would only drive you mad and eventually kill you. Sound like a deal, monkey?' The fox mocked.

'Deal,' Kushina responded, smiling brightly, and the hope she had lost was now returning.

As soon as the deal was made, Kushina's physical capabilities and powers were astronomically amplified to where the redhead could match Messorem.

Sensing Kushina's increase in power, Mikasa turned toward the Uzumaki, looking at her in disbelief.

"Kushina?! What was that?!!" She couldn't help but ask, and the redhead smiled at her.

"Let's just say I found a way to even the odds," she responds, vaguely confusing the older woman. "Go, I'll handle this fucker myself."

"Are you sure?" Mikasa asked looking hesistant.

"Yeah. I'm sure. I got this," Kushina gave her friend a fox-like smile before approaching Messorem.

"O-Ok," trusting the redhead, Mikasa left the area.

As Kushina made her way toward Messorem, her appearance changed drastically.

Three prominent whisker-like marks were on each side of her face, her eyes went from purple to bright red with slit pupils, her long brilliant red hair glowed, her nails became longer, and her body gained increased muscle mass.

When Kushina was near the demon, the redhead shouted. "HEY GUY!!!" Messorem stopped destroying buildings, and his head snapped to where Kushina was. "I HEARD YOU WERE LOOKING FOR ME!!! SO HERE I AM!!!!"

Messorem narrowed his eyes, and nostrils flared. "You're different...you're much stronger, and I sense demonic power within you....how can that be?" The demon shook his head. "It doesn't matter. After I kill you, I'll kill your friend and then search everyone else.'

Kushina's expression hardened. "No, you won't," she slowly approached Messorem. "You'll be dead by the time I'm done with you," she began sprinting toward the demon on all fours at speeds that surprised him.

The demon, quickly recovering from his surprise, snarled at her. "We'll see about that," he then met her charge halfway.

Kushina sprinted harder, snarling like an animal, then jumped and tackled the demon to the ground when they were only a few meters apart.

The redhead raised its hands, then began clawing at her opposition with blindingly fast, unpredictable, deceptively precise, and fatal strikes at the demon's face, throat, and other vital areas, causing blood to spill everywhere.

Snarling, Messorem backhanded her, causing the redhead to fall off. The demon quickly got up and began stomping on her repeatedly. 

However, the redhead managed to catch his food, albeit with some struggle, and then slashed at his foot with her left hand.

The demon hissed in pain, pulled back his foot, and kicked the Uzumaki. Kushina quickly raised her arms to block his foot from hitting her chest but was still sent stumbling back.

She quickly closed the distance between them, cocked back her fist, and struck the demon in the face sending him back a few feet.

However, this move came at a cost. Before Messorem stumbled back, he managed to land an uppercut on the female Uzumaki, sending her over sixty-forty meters into the air.

Growing that she got hit, she shot two chains toward the ground to the sides of the demon, and when they sunk deep into the earth, she propelled herself forward at such speed her body caught fire.

Seeing the redhead rapidly approaching him, Messorem shot several demonic energy beams through his finger. Kushina narrowed her eyes at the incoming projectiles and summoned a large scroll.

When the energy beams were about to make contact with her, she quickly opened the scroll and used it to seal all the energy beams.

Witnessing all of his ranged attacks being countered infuriated the demon, so he leaped toward Kushina with his fist cocked back, ready to strike at the human.

When the two were a few meters away from each other, Kushina had a chain at the ready, and when Messorems fist was mere inches away from her face, she maneuvered out of the way and wrapped the chain tightly around the demon's throat several times when she got past him.

Messorem's eyes practically bulged out when he felt his windpipe being constricted tightly. The redhead then turned around in the air and, with all her might, threw the demon back to the ground near Tyhon's levels of speed.

When Messorem crashed into the ground, an impressive crater of a sixty-meter radius and nearly thirty meters deep was created. Its size and depth doubled when Kushina landed on top of the demon.

Feeling the redhead slamming into his solar plexus caused Messorem to cough out a metric fuck ton of blood and all the air to come out of his lungs, making him gasp for life-saving oxygen.

Unfortunately for him, Kushina was relentless as he began to relentlessly barrage the demon with strike after strike at his face, resulting in more blood, including teeth, shooting out of its mouth.

Kushina summoned two blessed katanas to kick it up a notch and used them to stab multiple times in various vital locations.

Getting tired of the relentless assault, Messorem let out a furious roar, and his body emitted a massive quantity of potent demonic energy.

Kushina reacted quickly and jumped ten meters to the right to evade the attack, but it wasn't enough to block a strike to the face, which sent her crashing into the earthy walls of the crater they created.

The redhead quickly recovered from the attack and could move out of the way of her opposition's fist. She then blocked another attack and gracefully stepped to the side to evade getting stopped.

Kushina then struck the demon at the sides of his right knee, causing him to fall on the other one, which gave her perfect access to its groin, which she proceeded to kick, causing Messorem to release a cry of agony and the fox to wince.

She then stabbed the demon deep into the sides and twisted them before cutting downwards, causing the demon's innards and massive amounts of blood to spill out.

Before she could do any more damage, she had to block a backhand from the demon, making her stumble back a few feet, which gave Messorem to regenerate everything he lost and his deep wounds to close.

He then raised his right arm, which got stabbed through by Kushina swords, and he quickly punched her off of him. The demon grinned when the blades were still stuck in his arms, using this opportunity to get rid of them.

The demon pulled out both of her swords and threw them far enough that Kushina couldn't recover them, making the redhead snarl.

"I don't need those to kill you!" She snarled and tackled the demon.

However, Messorem managed to reverse their positions mid-air by spinning around to where she was in the front and was then slammed into the ground harshly.

The demon then held the redhead down by pressing his knee onto her legs, and he then began to wail at her with several devastating punches.

Several chains shot out from the ground behind the demon and wrapped around his torso. Then, they threw him into the air before slamming into a building.

Growling, Messorem grabbed the chains wrapped around him and broke them. He then summoned a sword and made several slashing motions toward the redhead, which caused multiple discs of demonic energy to head in her direction.

Kushina quickly reacted and threw several kunai that clashed against the demon's projectiles, causing small explosions. She then charged at the demon while also summoning a chain and Kunai.

The redhead quickly wrapped the chain around the handle of the blade tightly before swinging it in a circular motion and launching it toward the demon at speeds he couldn't react to, causing it to pierce through its stomach, before wrapping itself tightly around the demon's torso including his arms and wings, six times with the Kunai ending up embedding into his chest.

Kushina then yanked on the chain, causing the demon to fall forward and crash into the ground. She spun around slowly, causing the demon to tumble for a few moments before going into the air as the redhead accelerated the speed.

Once she reached the speed she needed, she tossed Messorem over her shoulder and threw him as far as possible.

The redhead held onto the chain as tight as she could and was a few moments later launched into the air with the demon.

With Kushina and Messorem high up in the sky and soaring at immense speeds, the redhead approached the demon by pulling herself forward on the chain.

It took a few minutes to reach him, but once Kushina did, she stabbed her claws into the larger enemy's body and began climbing until she reached his face.

Sending Charka to her feet, the redhead stood up and looked directly into the demon's hate eyes.

Grinning ferally, the Uzumaki summoned another pair of blessed katanas. Seeing this, Messorem tried to emit demonic energy, but when nothing happened, he quickly realized these chains were suppressing the energy within him, causing him to growl in frustration.

So he desperately began to break out of the chains, much to Kushina's visible amusement.

'Why aren't they breaking?!!!' He internally yelled in frustration.

"There's no point in trying to break them!!! I strengthen the shit out of these!!!!!" Kushina kindly informed the demon, earning her a glare.

An idea soon came to mind. "I DON'T NEED TO BREAK THEM!! I JUST NEED TO GET OUT OF THEM!!!" Messorem retorted, confusing the redhead slightly before her eyes widened in realization at what he was implying.

"OH FUCK!!!!" she cursed and quickly swung both blades at Messorems neck.

Unfortunately, she was too late as the demon reverted into his smaller form, causing the edge of her swords to hit nothing but air.

Messorem quickly slipped out of the chains and returned to his true form. He then flew toward and grabbed ahold of the redhead and brought her close to his face.

"Try escaping this," Messorem coldly said before his body began to glow, making Kushina's eyes widen in alarm.

"FU---" Kushina was cut off as she caught up in the blast, and all that could be heard was the redhead's screams.

Once the blast dissipated, what remained of Kushina in the demon's hands was nothing but a charred corpse. Shockingly enough, the redhead was still alive as everything began to regenerate, albeit slightly slower than usual.

"I'm impressed. That was my most powerful blast, and you're still somehow alive," Messorem praised the redhead. "Although barely, if the deceleration of your regenerative abilities is an indication of anything," he then began to squeeze her body excruciatingly slow.

The result of this action was, first, all the air left Kushina's lungs; second, all her bones in her upper body were crushed to dust; third, her internal organs were nothing but paste; and fourth, blood pouring out of all the orifices on her face.

It was one of the most horrific things she'd ever felt in her entire lifetime. If it weren't for her powerful regenerative healing factor, she would've been dead when her organs were absolutely obliterated.

However, if she didn't think of something soon, her regeneration would eventually give out, resulting in her death, a fate she couldn't want to come true.

'APE!!! IF YOU DON'T HURRY THE FUCK UP AND THINK OF SOMETHING SOON, YOU'RE GOING TO FUCKING DIE!' the fox roared.

'Wow, really? Who would've guessed getting your bones and organs turned to paste would kill you,' Kushina retorted sarcastically to mask her distress and pain.

The Kyubi snarled at the redhead's response. 'NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR YOUR BULLSHIT!!!'

The redhead was about to make another sarcastic remark, but an idea popped into her head. 'How long could you give a larger fraction of your power before the side effects occur?' She questioned, making the fox think for a moment before replying.

'I can grant you another fraction for at least ten seconds before having to take it back,' the fox replied.

'Alright, do it!' Her body was instantly restored as soon as she gave the command, and her power increased substantially, shocking Messorem.

"Let me..." She freed her arms from the demon's grasp and then grabbed him by the arm. "FUCKING GO!!!!" she let out a feral roar before yanking on Messorems arm, which resulted in his limb being effortlessly torn off and the demon letting a scream of agony.

As she was about to descend toward the ground, the redhead shot a chain toward the demon, and it wrapped itself around his neck, pulling him downward with her.

As the two rapidly decelerated to the ground, Kushina yanked on the chain and threw the demon further head. With just a second, Messorem crashed into the ground, and a second afterward, Kushina landed on top of him.

'Seven seconds.'

Kushina then began to rip off his head, but surprisingly, his body was still able to function, so he began to tear off his arms and legs and then split the rest of the remains of his body into two pieces. However, he was still regenerating despite this, immensely frustrating the Uzumaki and Kyubi!

'HOW THE FUCK IS THIS GUY STILL ALIVE?!' Kushina thought incredulously.

The Kyubi thought for a moment. 'Five seconds, and as for your question, the only logical course is to completely erase not only his physical body but also his soul or.....'

'I COULD SEAL HIM!!!' Kushina quickly concluded.

The redhead took out several scrolls and placed each of his body parts into one. Then, just for good measure, she cast a fire jutsu within a ten-meter radius to evaporate any blood that could've been left behind.

Then, lastly, she threw the scrolls into a fire, forever trapping Messorem's body parts within separate dimensions for eternity.

Kushina released a tired but relieved sigh and began to walk Geofu. Or at least she tried to, but the moment she reverted to her original form, the redhead collapsed, utterly exhausted from the strain the Kyubi's power put her under.

"Well, shit...." Kushina slurred and attempted to get up to no avail. "Hey, furball. I'm gonna need you...." She let out a yawn. "Need you to watch over me for a bit. I'm about to..." Her eyelids slowly began to close. "About to fall asleep..."

Ignoring the nickname, Kyubi rolled its eyes and huffed in annoyance. 'Fine, but don't make this a habit. I'm not your caretaker.'

"Yeah, yeah, whatever...you're such a grouch..." These were her last words before falling into a blissful slumber.
