Fishing Trip

Galan turned to her and she stared at him, a smile gracing her lips as she asked "Finished?" He frowned "You're still here?" Olvia nodded and replied "Why would I leave?"

Galan fell silent, he didn't expect something like this. He looked at the buckets before saying "I'm going fishing today." Olvia tilted her head and asked "Do you…" she touched her chest gingerly, "Are you asking me to come with you?" Galan frowned and replied "I want you to tell Sengoku to take over for today."

Olvia touched a chain on her neck, looking at him as she asked softly "And then?" Galan turned away, ignoring her. She smiled cutely before disappearing instantly.

A while later

Olvia came back to the beach, showered and all, holding fishing equipment, a book, as well as snacks and food. She was also wearing the same wooden sandals that Galan usually wore with a white floral shirt and short shorts.

She trotted to the small fishing ship happily, excited to go on this particular trip with Galan.

Galan was wearing a white t-shirt with black board shorts and the same wooden sandals. He looked at Olvia up and down, then looked at himself and frowned. She smiled gently, "You have good taste." Galan ignored her and she got on the ship quickly, fearing that he would leave without her.

Luckily for her, she just made it as Galan ripped the anchor out of the sand and pushed the ship out into the sea, sending it out fast. She just managed to jump on at the last second!

Galan looked at her as she smiled happily "Made it!" He frowned, why was she so annoying? As he turned around, picking up the buckets of flesh as the ship slowly sailed away from the shallow water around Marineford. Olvia set up the fishing equipment and put the food in the fridge, setting up for their trip before sitting on a beach chair near Galan, enjoying the sun as she read in peace.

When they were far enough from Marineford, Galan picked up the buckets and walked to the spot he was going to fish in. He stuck his hand in the buckets, tossing out flesh and guts, chumming the water.

Olvia looked over and shielded her eyes from the sun, watching him.

When he finished, he picked up a fishing pole and let out a breath, sitting on the taffrails with his legs crossed as he cast his line into the chummed waters, sitting as still as a statue.

She squinted and smiled to herself before bookmarking her page and walking over. Olvia picked up a fishing pole and sat next to Galan, casting her line as well.

He ignored her and stared at the waves.

She smiled calmly and sat next to him without a word.

Not too close, not too far.

But she was always there.

Right next to him.

No matter what happened.

The rest of the day went just the same, catching fish, chumming the water again, catching more fish. There was a Sea King that came for a bite to eat but Galan tossed it a fish and scared it off after.

No reason to kill the Sea King, it was just an animal. Plus if you didn't need food why would you kill animals. Barring survival, killing animals for no reason is a useless act. Galan thought so.

He figured, you're not eating the animal, it's not hurting anybody, why waste energy killing it? This kind of thing had literally no purpose.

At any rate, Olvia had fun, she even caught a shark and showed Galan, who looked at her blankly as she smiled happily.

Then he ignored her.

It was a happy day for everyone.

It also gave Galan peace to think about his future plans. Unfortunately as much as he wanted to kill Sakazuki at this very moment, he couldn't. The main reason being nobody would believe that Sakazuki just disappeared and Galan didn't have a good alibi to clear his name.

The Elders would be suspicious of him because Sakazuki was very strong. His Devil Fruit only made him stronger and the only one who could kill him silently would probably be Galan.

He tried to think of a way around this but it was a bit difficult. He couldn't just release a bounty on Sakazuki's head… But he wouldn't do anything less either.

Galan decided to have him stationed in the new world, roaming Officer. Galan was going to place Sakazuki right in the middle of Linlin and Kaido before telling Shakuyaku to spread the word that Sakazuki was spotted in these areas.

Galan made this decision for 2 reasons. First of all, even if Sakazuki was successful, he would bring down two major Pirates. Secondly, if he failed, Galn would not only achieve his goal of killing him, but the damage Sakazuki would do to the pirates before he died was good for him.

Essentially, there were no cons to this plan. He was killing a flock of birds with one stone. Well, unless you count Sakazuki living for a little longer as a con.

The aftermath of his death would be simple. He would send his Buzzards to look for the Magma Fruit and that would be the end of it. He could even groom a powerful admiral with the fruit all on his own.

He didn't even think of Olvia, she wasn't getting a Devil Fruit. He didn't want her to.

Just like that, the Sakazuki problem was handled excellently. Galan made a few calls and now every asshole in the New World knew where to look to find Sakazuki.

He had no problems with this because it was completely win-win.

There were very few spots around those territories with people on them that weren't affiliated with either crews. Galan specifically told Sakazuki that if he went buckwild and killed innocent people he would go down a rank for every life he took.

Hopefully the threat was sufficient, Galan didn't want him hurting any more innocent people. Life was hard enough they didn't need a mental Marine constantly making them scared as to when he'll show up and annihilate them in the name of Justice.

That wasn't Justice and it would be contradictory to Galan's plans of improving the image of the Marines in the mind of the populace. Not to mention, Galan wasn't going to change stories to make the Marines seem better.

He knew that the people liked hearing the truth.

The World Economic Newspaper had been mostly propaganda and nonsense about how amazing the Marines were. Galan was a Marine and he knew it was the dirtiest job in the world.

However it was the most noble job as well. Diving into the dirt to wrestle with the filth, putting your life on the line is very admirable.

As the time passed, Galan would slowly incorporate more and more truth into the News. He told Morgans this himself, getting an audience with him via Transponder Snail by Shakuyaku.

But that was for the future, right now, he was busy taking care of the Marines that were a constant mess…

Slowly but surely, years passed by!

1507- Rosinante went undercover to Doflamingo's crew, Tsuru was put in charge of the chasing doing a favor for Sengoku.

1508- Nothing unusual happened, Sakazuki was still alive and a young man named Vergo joined the Marines.

Then the incident happened in 1509…
