Chapter 176

Tani walked towards the ship that just docked at the island. He moved his head in Jack's direction with a smile, believing that he'll be able to end the fight quickly. Jack jumped off the ship and immediately transformed into his mammoth form, and ran towards Tani.

Tani easily dodged the charging mammoth, but what he didn't expect was that he wasn't Jack's target, and instead, it was the ship.

'What! Why is he ignoring me?'

Tani immediately ran after him and kicked his back, but Jack acted like he didn't feel anything and kept charging towards the ship. Tani kept kicking him over and over again, but nothing he did managed to slow him down even a second.

Jack reached the front of the ship before Tani could stop him, and with one swing from his trunk, he sent the Ocean's Black Star flying into the air. It started doing backflips in the air, and the people on board were holding on for dear life.

Tani had a horrified look on his face as his friends just got sent flying into the air. But he calmed down when he saw flames surrounding the ship, which stabilized it in the air and slowly let it fall back down into the ocean.

"Tsk, damn logia user. But now that those pests are out of the way, I guess it's time to kill you," said Jack in a bored tone.

Tani appeared on top of Jack's head and tried to stomp down on his head, but his leg got grabbed by Jack's trunk before he could hit him. Jack lifted Tani into the air and smashed him down into the ground.

"You looked pretty arrogant before when I jumped off the ship. But you should know that we aren't as weak as those Big Mom Pirates you've beaten before. We're in a different league altogether!"

"BOOOM!!!"

He smashed Tani into the ground again and again and again. Tani was doing his best to brace for the impact, but it was no use at all. Or that was what Jack thought. When Jack was about to smash him into the ground again, Tani suddenly evaporated into the air, which took Jack of guard.

(No DF. He was just hella fast.)

"Ryou."

Before Jack realized what happened, he received a heel on his head, which knocked him out. But even though he was unconscious, his instincts were good enough to hit Tani out of the air before he could do any more damage. And Jack was conscious again the next second.

"I don't know how you can use that stupid Ryou, but I couldn't care less. I have killed dozens of people who thought that they'd be able to beat me with a small trick like that. And that smug look you had just a second ago really pissed me off!"

Tani didn't say anything and appeared underneath Jack. He kicked up, sending him flying into the air. Tani jumped after him, trying to get more hits in when he suddenly stopped and jumped away from Jack, who a second later transformed into his hybrid form. He landed on the ground with his two blades, hungry for blood. The second he touched the ground, he disappeared from Tani's senses.

'How can he be so fast? Especially with such a big body. It seems like it's time to go into full gear.'

Jack appeared behind Tani and swung his blades down at him, but the next moment Jack fell face-first on the ground. He didn't know what happened till he spotted his leg. There were wounds all over his leg. He then looked at Tani, who is jumping up and down like he is warming up.

"Sorry for the delay, but I can go all out right now."

"There it is again! That cocky smile! I swear that I'll wipe it off your face, even if it's the last thing I-"

Jack got interrupted by a knee to the face.

"Even if you have strong defenses, if you can't hit me, it will be your loss."

"Come at me, you weakling! There is no way that you can take me down! Even with Ryou!"

Tani disappeared from Jack's field of view and attack around his entire body in a couple of seconds. But Jack just glared at him, not looking hurt at all. Tani didn't let up his attacks and kept kicking Jack so fast that it looked like his legs didn't move, and the kicking impacts were appearing out of nowhere.

However, even though it appeared like Jack was in a pickle, Tani's kicks were all being blocked by Jack's Haki that he used at the last second on the place of impact.

'This isn't him using his Kenbunshoku Haki to predict where I'll attack and then block with his Busoshoku Haki; this is his pure instinct defending him from the incoming attacks. Are the other All-Stars and Kaido also such monsters? I wonder what kind of powers they have? I heard that Kaido can't be killed. Will Captain be alright?''

"I've got you!"

Tani made the huge mistake of being distracted mid-battle and paid for it by a slash across his chest. He immediately jumped back before Jack could hit him again.

'I sensed it coming, but I was too distracted to dodge it. Captain will definitely punish me for this one.'

As if on cue, he sensed Ken glaring at him.

'I need to send my mother a letter after this fight.'

Tani immediately got into his fighting stance and was about to run towards Jack when a giant dinosaur suddenly crashed into Jack, sending both of them flying.

"Oops, sorry, Tani. I didn't mean to interrupt your battle," said Urouge with a huge smile

"Urouge! Thank you, I can use this quick break to catch my breath. That guy is a monster."

"Yeah, I saw. You looked really weak."

"Ey! You're supposed to encourage me."

"What can I say when you have abandoned your own style."

"Huh?"

"No matter what happens or who your opponent is, you always overwhelm them with your speed and don't care about power. Weren't you the one who said that if you needed to kick someone one hundred times to inflict 1 point of damage, you would just kick him a thousand times in one second?"
