My Girlfriend

Liam got out of the car elegantly and like a gentleman, walked to the other side to open the door for Ava. He held out his hand to help Ava out of the car.

Ava pulled her long gown and carefully got out of the car holding Liam's hand. She was wearing a pair of eight centimeter high-heeled shoes, as she was not used to wearing high heels often, she was walking very slowly. Looking at the luxurious ancient castle in front of her, Ava was amazed but also felt out of place. The grand decoration here made her extremely nervous. She decided to go inside and find a quiet corner and sit there until the party was over. Ava was sure she wouldn't know a single soul at this party.

Ava took two steps and heard car noises behind her, she turned and saw there were a few luxurious cars stopping one by one at the manor porch. All the people who got out of the cars were dressed up, clearly belonged to the upper-class and their every action was screaming elegance and class. Looking at the crowd Ava instantly regretted agreeing to Liam for coming here. Didn't Liam say it was an ordinary birthday party but why does she think it's a trap? These people are far from ordinary. Ava suddenly had a feeling the owner of the castle must be a very influential and respected person.

Liam straightens up his suit then held out his arm for Ava to hold it. Liam saw Ava's face was getting paler, he winked at her to make her feel comfortable. But Ava was anything but comfortable, she reluctantly reached out and hold his arm.

"Liam, can we please go back?" As Liam led her toward the ballroom door slowly, Ava asked in a low voice biting his lips slightly.

"What are you talking about? We are already here. How can we leave without wishing the old man on his birthday?" Liam said smiling.

"Fine." Ava took a deep breath and said biting her teeth.

"Don't be so nervous. Grandfather is very kind, he will like you very much." Liam comforted, he has seen through Ava's mind, and he understood. After all, Ava seldom attended such banquets. Unlike him, he was used to attending parties since he was a child.

"Who is this grandfather?" Ava frowned slightly.

"You'll find out soon," Liam said with a mysterious smile.

Liam and Ava reached the ballroom door and two well-dressed men welcomed them and opened the door for them to enter. Liam smiled and patted Ava's hand gently and said, "Don't worry, I'm here."

Hearing Liam reassuring her like that Ava relaxed a lot, and started to move more confidently. She just hoped this party would end quickly and she could go back home. They entered the ballroom and Ava's eyes instantly dazzled by the bright lights inside.

Everyone's attention was on Liam and Ava because he never accompanied any woman to a party before so everyone wondered who was this woman with Liam? The most important thing was that Ava looked very sweet and innocent, so all the woman looked at her with envy in eyes. In a high-class circle, it's normal to have a lot of pursuer for a man and woman, so like Oliver, Liam also had many admirers.

Ava was walking forward when the vice mayor came to greet Liam with a wine in hand, "Good evening, Mr. Jones."

"Hello, Mayor Wills," Liam replied politely.

"Who is the beautiful woman with you Mr. Jones?" Mayor Wills looked at Ava with a deep smile. He recognized Ava instantly as Oliver's Girlfriend, so he intentionally asked Liam who she was.

"My wife," Liam said with a serious face and immediately put his hand around Ava's waist.

Ava was stunned at first then she got angry. Did he just say, wife? How dare he? She never should have accompanied Liam to this party. Ava gritted her teeth but held back the anger.

"Liam!" A deep and steady voice suddenly came to ear not from far away.

Ava turned and looked at the source of the voice and saw a man who looked barely 70 years old, his hair was still black. He was in a black formal suit walking toward them. He didn't look like eighty at all, if it wasn't for the domineering and dignified aura he was sending out Ava would never believe that it was his birthday party.

"Grandpa!" Liam walked forward with Ava, still holding her waist with a smile to greet Charles Knight.

"You finally remember your grandfather? You unfilial kid, who didn't even bother to come and see me after coming back from the US." Charles said with a grim face.

"Grandpa, sorry but see I came today, didn't I? I wish you a very very happy birthday, may you live another eight years and bless us with your wisdom." With a brilliant smile on his face, Liam wished Charles and handed him the gift he brought for him.

"Thank you. You always know how to coax the old man" Charles happily accepted the gift. Although Liam had no blood relation with him but Oliver and Liam grew up in this castle so he was attached to both of the children very much.

"I am telling the truth grandpa," Liam said with a carefree sunny smile.

"Who is the beautiful girl with you Liam?" Charles looked at Ava and instantly liked Ava's sweet temperament. He thought the girl was very beautiful, even dressing like that she didn't look vulgar at all. Her temperament makes people feel comfortable around her.

"My girlfriend!" Liam said with a smirk.
