Naruto: A Broken Dream

Hiroshi was never someone who would rush into a fight, he was a happy person, someone who enjoyed getting everyone to laugh alongside him, Hiroshi was Mark Baker, a weeb who one day woke up in the world of Naruto and became Hiroshi Aburame... ---------------------------------------- I wanted to see what outside the scope of canon could do to the timeline, the story would probably go into massive AU in the future, with the whole world of Elemental nations going up and down because of Hiroshi's choices. If you want to read it, give it a try as the story won't be a linear worldbuilding, and everyone would be trying to screw one another... ---------------------------------------- This novel is my attempt at trying the Simulation system trope, I liked the idea behind the system, just the execution of many novels using this troupe was a blunder to navigate due to them being mostly MTL... So here's my attempt at a Simulation type novel. If you want to read ahead or read 9 Chapters ahead- https://www.patreon.com/DesMark

Calm before the storm!

{Kōchiyo Village, Land of Fire}

{6:31 PM, 8 March 78 Yrs}

Hiroshi was currently sitting in a restaurant waiting for a bowl of soup, the patrol today was as boring as any other day, nothing of interest actually happens in this town. So he focused once again on what he should choose, throughout the day he had been contemplating what to do and how to proceed, he liked the vision stat, it was an easy upgrade but he couldn't shake the idea of increasing both Physique and Comprehension to a better state.

'Along with the Poison Ivy trait, it just seems like a good idea, with 5100 I could get 3 upgrades in my physique and at least 2 in comprehension.'

Hiroshi hesitated for a bit before he looked around, his inherent paranoia resurfacing so he suppressed the impulse to upgrade right now, he didn't want to collapse in a public place if by chance upgrading his physique stat broke some kind of limiter.

"Two Miso soups..." a waitress spoke to which Hiroshi nodded absentmindedly, he was waiting for Ren to finish his patrol, normally they just each went through their own training after patrol but today Ren asked him for some help on the Vaccum fist. Earlier this week they made the exchange in which Ren gave him the scroll for the Vaccum fist in exchange for 4 possibly worthless jutsu scrolls. He hadn't even tried learning them because there was only one D-rank scroll in that bunch, the Earth Release: Double Suicide Decapitation Technique whose prerequisite was that the user should know the C-Rank ninjutsu, Earth Release: Hiding Like a Mole Technique.

Seeing as Hiroshi's comprehension was still at D-grade he had no hope of learning any of them, no matter how easy these jutsu were supposed to learn, the harder one being the B-rank jutsu Earth Release: Earth-Style Wall. Still, hopefully, he could start learning the C-rank jutsu only when he got his Comprehension to at least C- which was stupid in his opinion but at least it would be a cheat once that stat is high enough.

"Hey..." Ren spoke as he flopped down in front of Hiroshi, he looked tired as he spoke in a tone higher than his natural voice, "Some idiot decided it was a good idea to drink a whole bottle of sake before the sun even set... why the fuck is that bar even open this early..." he grumbled before he quickly dived into his soup.

"You need to go for a report then, we'll meet in the morning then, I need to start learning the jutsu you gave me, maybe then I can ask you for hints too then," Hiroshi spoke as he too started on his soup. He was used to the food here but to be honest he missed the variety of food that he had available in his last life. In the elemental nations, the food was mostly Japanese as depicted in the show, although he didn't mind eating rice, eating rice and curry every day quickly became a bit boring.

'Maybe I should have learned how to cook, at least then I could fix myself something else...'

"Alright, I'll see you back at the base later, I need to go and report this now otherwise I would have to do a double shift tomorrow..." Ren grumbled before he left towards the exit. Hiroshi blinked as he looked at the now-empty bowl of soup on the opposite end of the table.

'That was quick... I should hurry up too'

He felt some kind of childish excitement bubble up in him as he thought about upgrading his stats, it was still surreal to him sometimes as he remembered some memories of his previous life, his life right now felt like a game... well except for all killing and sneaky ninja business.

Hiroshi left a couple of hundred Ryo on his table that should cover the cost of both bowls before he walked out of the restaurant, the sun had already gone down by now so there were few lights, mainly from the commercial area of the village shining the dusty road. He gathered chakra in his legs before leaping on top of a rooftop. Now the essence of Roof-jumping was similar to tree-walking, he had to saturate chakra into his muscles to prevent them from taking injuries if the fall was too much or the speed too high, plus he had to maintain a steady flow of chakra to his soles to attach himself to the rooftops even though his combat sandals provided him with enough friction to maintain his balance.

Apparently, it was a good subconscious habit to develop because once your speed started going through improvements, somewhere around high-chunin level speeds, if you do not use chakra at almost any moment whether you are sprinting on the normal ground or if you are roof/tree-hopping, there is a high chance that you could slip and fall.

A while ago Hiroshi tried to think about these things while applying the laws of physics before he quickly gave up on that. Since he had journals that he could borrow and books on chakra theory, there was no point in experimenting with chakra and risking blowing his limbs off.

'I still remember when I blew off the tenketsu in my hand trying to use the leaf concentration exercise to blow stuff away by pushing too much chakra and trying to integrate it into the academy grapples.'

He chuckled looking back at the painful memory as he arrived at his secluded training ground. He quickly claimed a tree that he was a little fond of before he pulled up his hidden stats once again.

'Alright... let's start with Physique...'

Hiroshi thought as he clicked on his Physique to upgrade, as expected another blue window popped up as he felt a little lighter, he looked at his stats but upon not noticing any change he just had to chalk it to a mental barrier thing.

Ding~

[Physique : D -> D+]

[Physique strengthened, natural physical stat cap increased to 50.]

Feeling nothing physically different from before he paused for a brief moment before upgrading his physique 2 more times.

Hiroshi looked at the last window before he sighed in disappointment, 'I was expecting another trait to pop up considering C-grade Physique is my highest rated stat...'

He was disappointed for a bit before his gaze turned to the 1100 simulation points remaining.

'Don't think too much it is the right way...'

He quickly tapped the comprehension stat twice as another slew of windows popped up, once again giving him some new information to work with.

AN/ Day 2 of the grind!! maybe I'll post another chapter later today! Apparently, most authors post chapters at a specific time so I was thinking maybe I should do the same? It's 00:00 China time, right?
