Chapter 109: Seo Yeon

I tended to the Prince when he let me, but other than that I was free to do as I pleased. But I was unable to get Seon-Ho out of my head. Now that I had more of a clear mind away from everyone and all of the problems I had been through up to this point I was finally able to think about his behaviour. He had shut me out as soon as he returned and he was angry, that meant that he surely had to have known something...or someone had told him something to turn him against me like this. He was pushing me away whilst binding me to him publicly...so he didn't want to let go of me? Then why was he flirting with palace maids and buying them gifts to show off to practically everyone? And the way he had me...everyday as I dressed myself I had to wake up to the bruises he left on my body. He was not a violent person...at least not towards me, but he sometimes forgot his own strength when he...lost himself a little. But as soon a she came back he demanded more and more attention to the point where I was afraid that I would get pregnant before marriage; not that I would have minded. Seon-Ho, on the other hand, as much as he loved doing the deed would not have been happy about an illegitimate child, not after the torture he had been through. I missed him so much it broke me, but I had to carry on doing what I came here for.

I spent my free time looking into the Prince's past here in this village where he grew up wits his brother Bang-Gan...and this is where they met my father while he was on a mission here, before Hwi's 6th birthday. It was just after he married my mother that he had gained his fame and glory; and he was invited to dine with the King for the very first time...and apparently the princes were so in awe of him that they begged him on the spot to train him...

The jobs I had worked at during my time in the Nam mansion were not random, in fact; I had very luckily managed to work in most of the households that were connected to my father. He rarely kept in contact with the people he worked for, in fact they were the ones who kept calling him back for work. So many years had passed that I had barely had any memories of my parents left, only that my father would only get angry when he had to receive work calls in our home. He wasn't nearly home enough and we has barely got to spend enough time with him before he...well anyways I looked around every room, office and other duding I had access to, to see if anyone had kept any keepsakes from my father after I had investigated each family with the help form a few fiends I would make in each household, but to no avail. From ministers, to clerks, to low and high borns I investigated everyone I could find pithing our village or near it...I also remembered that my father didn't like to work away from our home village unless he needed to or he was in the village his people had put together under his name, although I doubted that I could find any clues there...and nothing. I had not one single lead on anything until I saw the Prince Bnag-Gan sparring some lazy nobleman in the village for fun...and I had instantly recognised some of his sword techniques that my brother and I had...which could only mean one thing...

So from there my relationship with the Prince began; I had 'coincidentally' bumped into him a few times and he had the misfortune to witness me play out one of my tricks to the parents of the boy I was fond of over and over again; I had even gotten a chance to serve him a few times at outdoor dinner parties. But it was only when he caught me sparring privately after one such dinner party that he finally took an interest in me. He recognised me instantly, apparently I looked a lot more like my father than I had realised. He had asked me how I had managed to survive all these years, and when I told him about my feat with epilepsy he...he was interested in me enough to keep me as an acquaintance. In fact, he seemed a little too eager, so I had alway imagined that he had something to do with my father's death...but I was wrong once again. He and my father had no other relationship other than master and pupil...in fact it was Bang-Won who followed him around as much as he could...
