Chapter 8: How they met

Flashback...

9 years ago, One month since the Zombie Apocalypse happened.

" Wait! No! " Dylan blocked the shot aimed at me, which I pull him to dodge ut.

"Get out of there!" the soldiers shouted, aiming at me.

"I won't allow it! AJENA'S FINE! SHE'S JUST UNLUCKY! But look at her! She hasn't turned into a zombie yet!" Dylan argued.

"Stay back, Dylan!" Dykon warned.

Dylan hugged me.

"Dylan!"

"Aj-jena... Don't listen to whatever they say. You're still normal to me," Dylan said, touching my cheek.

I didn't want to show them that I was hurt or scared, so I forced a smile. Dylan picked up my shirt that he had put on me since I was only wearing a tank top.

" You have to kill me first before Ajena," Dylan said seriously, burying me in his chest while holding me, my head leaning against it, looking at those soldiers on the rooftop.

"Dylan... let's get off the top of the bus, Now! " I said, pulling him away.

" Why?" he replied.

I took out my katana

" Duck!" I shouted, startling my companion as a mutant zombie on another top of the car stretch it's tounge almost hitting us.

"Ajena!!!" Dylan yelled.

I quickly cut off its tongue and jump off. The mutant zombie followed, so I dodged and swiftly decapitated it with my katana!

I rolled on the street to divert the attention of other zombies while the one I decapitated fell.

"Ajena!! Come back!!!" Dylan shouted.

I stood, staring at the slow-moving zombies. Time seemed to slow down. Dylan wanted to get off the bus, but his older brother held him back, yelling along with the little kid, Jerry.

As I stared at the zombies, I suddenly saw a image of Haerol, bleeding and kneeling, smiling tearfully as he bid farewell.

I felt intense rage, overwhelming rage.

"Haerol "

" AJENA!!!" Dylan screamed.

I will avenge you, Haerol!

"I'll finish all of you!"

I was furious!! I acted swiftly, decapitating each of these monsters! Bring back Haerol! Bring back my beloved! He didn't deserve such a death! I didn't even get to kiss him one last time!

"Enough, Ajena! They're all dead! Ajena! Calm down! "

I snapped out of it when Dylan shouted, and found myself entering a building trying to follow the zombie that seemed to be afraid , I touched my head, shaking it. Damn! I lost myself...

I took a deep breath, turning away, and was shocked to see many dead zombies without heads... Did I do that? gosh...

"Ajena!" I heard Dylan, pointing behind me. I turned and stepped back.

0_0 What the hell!! What is that?!! A baby zombie! With a long tongue and a bite mark on its belly... I sat down in shock as it crawled towards me swiftly.

Damn! It's bloody and terrifying!

"Ajena! Run!"

Sh*t, I can't move with this weird thing... I'm seeing it for the first time now

All the zombies had white eyes, and so did the baby, estimated to be only one or two years old, Its black body was pulsating...

Its tongue hung down, terrifying! I couldn't help but hold my breath! Its claws were long too.

I winced at the pain when it's long tounge moved and lick my leg, Sh*t Did its saliva contain acid? It tore my fitted leggings, now only reaching my knees.

"Ajena! Get up!! Get out of there!" They yelled.

I was about to move but stopped when the baby's head suddenly look at me Its head tilted, examining me as its tongue licked the road.

"Don't move! It gets aggressive towards moving things! " a soldier shouted.

"Ajena!" Dylan called.

"I'll help Ajena!"

"Don't, Dyl!! You might both get in danger!!!" I didn't turn around, but I knew they were stopping Dylan.

I gasped as it licked my thigh, tearing my leggings there.

"Aah!"

I screamed as its tongue touched my wounded arm... Shit! I can feel how dangerous this baby is!

"Ajena! "

My entire arm's sleeve was torn, f*ck! ... so you can clearly see my black veins from here... even the fabric wrapped around my hand was torn because of its tongue.

"Aahh!" I screamed from the pain of being licked , It's licked the bite mark i got that is fully healed. Now It's bleeding because of it's acid tounge!

" Ajena!!"

Dy-ylan , I'm sorry I guess it's the end now. I close my eye--

" Mama "

Mama? I opened my eyes and looked at the baby, which suddenly climbed onto my lap , I was surprised! Mama?

Its cheek was rubbing against my bruised arm... It took my hand and sniffed it.

Wait. Mama? Did it think I was its mom because of the bite? But wait!

Mama?! The zombie spoke! I was very shocked! It can speak! I held my breath as it stared at me! Shit!

" Mama Milk "

"Milk! Milk!"

What Milk ?! Does it think I have milk?! Wait, I look at my chest that is exposed and covered it.

"You're crazy!" I said and it intensely look at me

"I-I was just joking," I apologized to the zombie baby.

"Mama Milk, Mama ," it said again, lifting my shirt so I stood up.

"I'm not your mom!" I ran! Better get out of here!

"Mama! Mama!"

" I said I'm not!!" I ran behind the car but when I looked back, the baby was there again with a drooping tongue crawling and chasing me, So I ran again!

"Mama! "

"Aaah! I'm not your mom! Dylan!" I called out and it seemed to wake him up.

"Quick, Ajena!" I jumped while holding Dylan's hand and pull me to the top of the bus. I hugged him and he did the same to me.

" Mama! Mama! Mama! "

I looked at the baby crawling quickly around this bus, spinning.

"S-scary, waaah!" Dahlia hugged us all.

"We're surrounded!!!" Bob said.

"Are you okay, Ajena?" Dykon asked.

"Yes, but it's calling me Mama!! It even wants milk!" I said, hugging my body.

" Mama Milk! Milk! Mama! "

There it goes again!

"But We don't hear anything" They said.

0_0 Am I the only one hearing it? Is that a zombie thing? Am I a zombie too?

" Mama?" Dylan

"He probably thinks I'm his mom because I've been bitten... you saw him act weird right "

They nodded

"That zombie's fast! We've hit him in the head many times but nothing happened!" Shouted of the soldier from the rooftop.

"It just can't handle heights! So don't come down!!!" They said

My companion all breathed out with relief and Dahlia who sat down.

" Mama! Mama! Mama! "

The baby is still calling for its mom... If I'm its mother, then that baby wouldn't hurt me, right? I was startled because of what Dylan did , he tied his jacket in my waisy...then I realized how short my shorts were.

"You're too sexy," Dylan said.

"Thank you, Dylan," I said.

He just avoided my gaze. I sat down, looking at the baby boy crawling and spinning around the bus.

It's still calling for its mom...In the few minutes I've watched baby boy, I've observed its appearance, its hair is short black and shirt only wearing shorts...its body full of black veins. I looked at my hand again where my bite marks is.

I raised my hand across the baby zombie and it's stopped, with its white eyes staring at me... I'm confused , I'm seeing what it's looks like a normal baby appearance. A very handsome baby boy! Wow!

I suddenly remembered Ariela's baby that still in the womb...I felt sorry for baby boy.

"What are you planning?" asked Meno.

"I'll talk to him, he won't hurt me because he mistook me as his mom," I said, putting the katana behind me and readying the gun in case he attacked me.

"What are you talking about?! What if he bite you?" Dylan said, hugging me.

"Don't do it, Ajena!!" Dylan said.

"Ajena! Stop it! My youngest bro will get sad!" Dykon said.

"Ah whatever!" I said, pushing Dylan away and jumping down. They shouted,

" Mama!"

The baby clung to my leg , rubbing his face in my legs so I sat down slowly, I sighs because it's long tounge sticking out.

"Okay baby boy, shorten your tongue," I said, I was surprised when it followed, so I quickly lifted it... wow, this baby is not bad at all.

I looked up at Dylan.

"He's nice," I smiled.

"Ajena!" They said.

"Shh," I said.

"Baby boy... what's your name?" I ask.

"Mama! Mama!" He kept repeating said while trying to put his hand in my chest.

"Bad!" I said.

"Mama! Milk!" He said.

"No, I don't have milk," I said, and the noise!

I heard Dahlia's stomach growling.

"I'll just get some food," I told them.

"Take care, big sister," Jerry said.

I nodded and put down the baby boy. I walked until I stopped because the crawling baby was following me.

"Stay there! I'm getting our food... I'm hungry too," I said.

"Mama! Me! Help!Mama!" He said, very lively.

He still looks scary, black veins beating but stop when I touch him.

I was about to walk faster so he won't follow me but he suddenly jumped in front of me and I retreated then a zombie came out under the gtound I took out my katana I was ready to fight it, but I stopped because the baby zombie killed it. He hit it with his acidic tongue,

"Mama! Me Good!" Baby boy says, trying to stand but he can't...

I walked again and noticed a zombie dog inside the car I aimed my gun at the dog

when it suddenly shattered the mirror!

" Ajena! "

" Big Sis! "

The zombie dog jumped at me and I fell down ! I was going to shoot it when a long tongue hit the body of the dog, which flew away.

"Mama! Mama! "

Wait, Did he--

"He's protecting her!" People on the roof say,

He protected me? I hide the katana and the gun and saw a zombie with half body crawling.

I need to take a risk to find out and make sure so I walked when I approached it and extend my hand in the zonbie's face when it's about to bite me a long tounge cut it's face

I'm right! And he suddenly jumped at me

"Mama! Mama!" He said again clapping his hand , I sit down looking at the baby zombie , unbelievable

The baby's teeth exposed while his laughinh , what a black teeth, I looked at the bite mark in my hand and in his tummy... the baby is like me , Immune but maybe because he's a kid it's still affected him

I sat here, where the baby zombie crawl away. I watched what he's gonna do. He stretch his mouth And the grocery store glass wall broke, and the baby jumped there... I was surprised at what he was doing there.
